36. Against the Emperor

"From the beginning, you were different from the roots to the leaves, everything was different. " Su Qionglin continued hatefully.

The hatred as well as the anger he felt for Ling Yi was unbearable anymore, just that every time he wanted to say something.

He had always held back, for the sake of protecting himself by not provoking Ling Yi's anger as well as he also recalled that Ling Yi saved him twice.

"What about your work ? Why does he still have such puffy eyes ? It seems you guys are not doing a good job. " Say Ling Yi coldly.

Before the butler could defend himself, Su Qionglin had opened his voice first.

"Wangye, if we want to convince people that we didn't sleep last night then we have to make it more convincing. If it's just words, then I'm afraid that it's not enough. " Su Qionglin said.

"Good, you're really good at making excuses. " Reply Ling Yi.

The two were silent until they finally arrived at the Palace courtyard and entered the Palace hall, they faced the Emperor politely.

They had the ability to play roles well especially when in the presence of the Emperor.

The two kneeled before the Emperor and gave a greeting and prayer to the Emperor which made the Emperor laugh happily.

"The two of you are a very compatible couple, wait let alone you two ? Sit down quickly and we'll discuss how your nights are going. "Speak the Emperor while laughing lightly.

Apparently, the Emperor felt that his goal had been achieved just from seeing Su Qionglin's hand being held tightly by Ling Yi.
