Episode 49.2 - Approach With Jan

In the early morning around 1 or 2, all the troops fell asleep. Except Hengki.

He was still awake because the cold could not put him to sleep. Hengki continued to approach the campfire that had been built since everyone was still relaxing. The distance between Hengki and the campfire is so close that it may be only a few inches away. But Hengki still felt cold.

Not far from the campfire lay Jan who was still unconscious. It seemed that Jan was having a nightmare, he was moving his hands and feet very strangely. His breath was like a frightened person.

"...I'm always after you, but I never seem to come any closer... I'm sorry." Jan looked so sorry, he closed both eyes with his arms.

In the midst of the confusion, suddenly appeared someone who moved towards Jan, and when it approached the man stuck wood in front of him.

The man walked by dragging his feet. It's weird, but it bothers Jan.

Jan who was still closing his eyes with his arm was shocked.

"You're up... Congratulations..."

The person who approached Jan greeted him first and congratulated Jan.

Congrats?... That mean?... Jan was confused as to why the man congratulated him.

When Jan was about to raise his arm so that he could see who the person who approached him was. Simultaneously the man said, "You have managed to kill the enemy leader so impressively."

Hengki approached Jan so that he could start to introduce who he was. It is clear that Hengki is having a certain purpose with Jan.

Even though it was aware of who the figure who was approaching him. But it seems that Jan still has not digested Hengki's talk earlier.

With eyes glared at Jan in shock. He did not believe Hengki's words saying that the enemy he faced this afternoon had been killed.

"Are you joking?.." with eyes still glaring, Jan asked Hengki, was he being invited to joke.

Jan thinks that Hengki is a rancid figure considering in the previous meeting, it seems clear that Hengki avoids and is indifferent to himself who is moaning hunger. Although not holding a grudge but still Jan was a bit annoyed with Hengki.

"What am I kidding for. The man you fought is dead. It seemed like he was either out of blood or out of steam after receiving extremely fatal wounds all over his body. I don't know exactly why he died" Hengki told Jan that he was telling the truth about German's death.

"REally?..." While shedding tears. Jan was moved, he was very proud of himself if his enemy was really dead.

Hengki who saw Jan crying was moved to feel quite angry, naturally Hengki felt like that because in the previous world where there were people moved after killing others, let alone people who were killed was an important figure.

"It seems so," replied Hengki.

It seems that Jan also did not want the chat to end soon. Jan looked wry looking for new chat material.

And stopped his gaze at the crossbow that Hengki was carrying.

"Is that the weapon you used to save me?" jan asked very curiously.

He asked while pointing at the crossbow.

"Yes, do you want to see it." In order to further strengthen the relationship, Hengki offers Jan to look at the crossbow freely.

"What can? All right, I want to see it..." With the spirit of Jan agreed Hengki's offer.

Without a second thought Hengki immediately gave the crossbow to Jan.

Jan seemed amazed by the detail and shape of the crossbow.

"...Who makes a gun this good?" Jan praised the weapon while asking who made it.

"What he did was his father William." Hengki unhesitatingly replied that the one who made him was William's father, Mundus.

"Ehh! Since when did Mundus master make something like this?!" Although not feel lied to, but Jan was surprised, since when Mundus made a weapon that looks complicated.

"Haha... Although what made him Mundus master but actually designing this weapon is myself. I asked him the night before the battle began." Hengki answered him while a little embarrassed because he had to say that the one who designed it was himself.

Well, naturally Hengki was lying Jan still believed especially when Hengki was telling the truth.

After being asked such a question, Hengki became a bit panicked. He did not know what to answer, because if Hengki was honest by saying that he felt from another world, surely Jan would feel being deceived by him.

A little while later Hengki finally found a good reason, he said, "O-my parents used to be a merchant who traveled to several kingdoms. And I used to steal some papers he sold."

Hengki pretended that he had obtained paper from the results of stealing his father's merchandise. His anxious face made Hengki's answer more convincing in Jan's eyes.

Jan thinks he has asked something sensitive to Hengki, and is forced to reveal his secret for stealing his parents' merchandise.

"Ja-so that's. I didn't mean to reveal your secret. I'm really sorry."

Jan then panicked as well. He thought he had offended Hengki's past.

And finally their conversation was a little awkward, but it seemed that Hengki's efforts to make friends with Jan were not in vain.

At the end of the conversation, do not forget they tell each other their names. It turns out that Jan's name is just Jan without a last name.

This indicates that Jan is a child from a very low family or Jan could have been born without a father, aka illegitimate children like Roderick.
