The Crack of a Heart

The Crack of a Heart
Divorce Trial

Arifa and Farhan looked at her face being stunned as if they were thinking of something. "Fuck!" say the two together, disperse the daydreams of Zakaria.

Farhan approached his papa, but he accidentally saw paper and envelopes overlapping on the table. Curious, Farhan picked up the paper and read it. A few moments later, he approached Zacharias.

"Whatever the decision will be, it may be the best for you. Neither I nor Arifa can forbid and prevent what is already your destiny. Regardless of the reason behind all this, I can only pray. Hopefully, the decision he made will not regret it in the future."

Zacharias smiled faintly and nodded his head after hearing the words of his eldest son. It is true what Farhan said. No one wants a farewell. Moreover, the breakup caused a profound side effect in the heart.

"Farhan, will you help Papah in the company? because after your sister graduated from school, she wanted to study in South Korea. Papah just hopes, with you here the company can rise again," pinta Zakaria made Farhan think for a moment.

"Alright, Pah. But, maybe the next week I'll go back to my place of work to submit my resignation from there."

Zacharias agreed. "There's a lot of ya, Farhan." He hugged his eldest son then.

Two days later after the summons was received by Zakaria, the determination of her marriage with Sinta arrived.

The atmosphere in the courtroom was still quiet. This time Zachariah came with Arifa and Farhan. Soon a group of socialite women entered the courtroom. One of them had Sinta there.

Arifa's eye beads noticed her mama who only gave a glance of the eyes without approaching her. He grew curious and asked in his heart, why does his mother now seem to hate him? should he hate the woman who gave birth to him? arifa thought so.

A few minutes passed, and the trial began. Zakaria and Sinta were called to come forward and then sit in the chair in front of the presiding judge.

"Sister Sinta as a plaintiff, what is the reason you are suing for divorce from your own husband?" ask the judge firmly.

"For twenty-five years I was married to him, I often saw him drunk, violent to me, and also to the point of cheating on me. I can't stand with him, Judge."

Arifa who heard that immediately her emotions ignited. Luckily Farhan was beside him. Farhan held back Arifa's hand not to stand. In fact, both of his eyes were already reddened. He felt even more disappointed even hated by his mother.

Sinta could have said something I never did. Who made him like this? Inner Zachary. He just kept listening to what Sinta would say next.

"In addition, is there anything else that makes you insist on this divorce?" ask the Chief Judge again.

"He used to hold me. That's why I chose to make my own money. I want to be free, I am not an animal that can be as good as his ego makes me a reflection of himself. Now, I'm really fed up with it. We have also separated our beds, and for the last six months I have not lived in his house again."

Sinta's explanation made Zakaria take a deep breath. Now the middle-aged man had awakened. Farewell to him is the best. Evident from what Sinta said about him. Even if returning to him is impossible. Sinta's pain just now indicates Zakaria is no longer her soul mate.

"I gave it to them myself, for they were already great and could make their own choices" Zacharias replied in a calm manner, though his heart was burning with the flames of anger.

"For the treasure gono gini, has it been determined?"

Sinta quickly replied, "I don't need her possessions, but I have plenty!"

Zakaria breathed. Is that what Sinta hates him? until the entire course of the trial, Sinta was even reluctant to stare at the man she had been with for twenty-five years.

In the back, Arifa continued to cry silently in the arms of the older sister. Who knows, even Farhan's feelings are in a rage. When his love had also ended, now saw the end of his parents' journey. The cry that Farhan wanted to let out was deliberately held. Because he did not want to see his only sister was more sad, especially Zakaria.

"Then, how do you feel, Mr. Zakaria with the lawsuit filed by your wife. Do you mind?"

"At first yes, but after hearing everything from my own wife's mouth. I became convinced that divorce was the best way for both of us" Zakaria replied as she looked at Sinta whose gaze continued straight ahead.

Indirectly Zakaria had dropped the talaq in front of the judge for Sinta. After weighing up, the judge finally gave a decision.

"I've heard from both the plaintiff and the defendant. Both are already equally breastfed for divorce .. fine with this the plaintiff's request for divorce is granted." The presiding judge knocked the hammer twice. "Connection is over, my trial is closed. Thank you and good afternoon," continued the presiding judge, knocking his hammer three times.

The trial was over, Sinta got up from the chair and walked over to her social friends and then left the room without arguing with either Zakaria or her two children. Because, he felt a sense of satisfaction after the judge granted his request.

Meanwhile, Arifa immediately wiped away the tears that had flowed up to wet Farhan's clothes and got up from the seat to approach Zakaria. He hugged the father tightly, while Farhan stroked the middle-aged man's arm as a sign that the papa should be stronger after this.

The next day, early in the morning Farhan was ready to leave for the country where he worked. Arifa who still did not wake up was finally left alone at home. Because, Zakaria who will deliver Farhan to the airport and then immediately go to the office.

At eight in the morning, Arifa woke up. His memory still feels yesterday. His mother will no longer return to this house, he thought with a consciousness that had not yet fully recovered. Both of her eyelids look so swollen that her eyes are almost tight.

Collide her body, then get out of bed and walk to the bathroom. Previously, Arifa turned on the shower with a warm water setting. He reflected for a moment to look at himself from the reflection of the mirror.

Why is your fate so bad, Fa? If you are beautiful, you should be happy. Have complete and harmonious parents. You have a brother who loves you. Have good friends. Huh! yes already. It happened, even though I was the victim of a broken home. I make sure, my household will be completely happy.

Arifa spoke to herself. After that, he began to perform the ritual bath.
