The sun is shining orange. A week has passed since my mother died. The latitude ran for breath. The body is full of sweat because of the hot weather of Surabaya.
Lintang stopped in front of a fast food restaurant, just as she was working part-time. The latitude tried to stabilize his breath. He looked around the restaurant which was already quite crowded. His fat and bald-headed boss was standing in front of him while shaking his waist.
"Too late by five minutes." Boss glared fiercely.
"Sorry, boss, the road was jammed," said Lintang
"You're fired," hardik the fat boss.
Latitude riveted. He doesn't believe what he just heard? Fired? Because it's five minutes late?
"But, Boss, I'm only five minutes late" whined Lintang.
"Five minutes is also valuable. Time is money. Get out of here!" said the man while shaking hands to drive away Lintang.
The latitude glanced for a moment. He did not understand why this fat boss had absolutely no tolerance. Lintang sighed then shouted.
"Okay, I'm stopping! No need to fire me! Who would want to work at a cheap fast food restaurant like this! The cuisine is not good, it is expensive, it is so unhygienic, full of germs!"
The fat Boss stared like a hungry wolf at the latitude. The man was about to ambush Lintang, but Lintang immediately took a thousand steps. The boss was chasing him blindly, but the latitude was faster and more nimble. Finally the Boss gave up due to exhaustion. The man only growled from a distance while brandishing his fists.
"See you, if you dare to come back here again!"
"It's quite ... tomorrow I can find a new job." Lintang smiled wryly trying to stay firm.
Arriving at his boarding place Lintang faces a more painful reality. His stuff was thrown out of the room by his boarding mother roughly. The cross was surprised and ran closer.
"W-What's this, Mom?" The latitude asked for an explanation.
"Someone wants to rent your room, so I take out all your stuff, now go," said the girl with a grim keribo hair.
"Tu-wait, Mom, you can't do this ... Where should I stay?" Latitude protested.
"Just stay on the street! You think I rented my room for free? Your rent's been up for three months!" The keribo-haired boarding mother clucked in annoyance.
"Wait, Mom. Don't do this .. I beg ..." Lintang wailed while holding the hand of his boarding mother. Lintang took out a piece of money five thousand from his pocket, the only money he had now. Lintang handed the money to his boarding mother.
"Today I just have this. Please don't throw me out, tomorrow I'll definitely pay off." Lintang pleaded while fusing his two palms.
The kribo-haired boarding mother snatched five thousand rupiah from the hands of the latitude savagely. "You think this is enough, huh? You should have paid six hundred grand. I'm tired of your promises! Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow again!" Mother Kos barked with buying eyes. "I also have a limit of patience, lucky I didn't call the police, quickly pack your things and never come again!"
The bereaved woman entered the house with a grunt. Shoulder Latitude to vibrate because of the sound of slamming door mother kosnya. He sighed then crouched down and picked up his messy belongings in the courtyard. Her eyes were teary, yet she tried to hold back the crying.
