Alta stood in front of a fairly hot fire stove. It looks like he's cooking something. And that is indeed. Beside him sat a Yasmine who was stirring something.
At that time, Alta tried to chat something with Yasmine's grandmother.
“How can grandma be in this place? I'm sure grandpa and grandma have been in this place for a few years.”
Yasmine smiled. The wrinkles on his face were very clear. She also replied, “Grandmother forgot how it could be here and for how many years grandma was here. Only, when the grandmother was born, the emperor Fang Ama had already taken office, and perhaps the grandmother in this place was also in the imperial government of Fang Ama.”
“Fang Ama?”
Alta tried to remember. No, at first he thought the emperor Fang Ama was an emperor who led the region of the water country because it had the first name Fang. Unfortunately it was wrong, Fang Ama was part of the Ama family that led the lightning empire of his time.
Alta tried to calculate it, now is the era has changed. What he remembered Fang Ama was the grandfather of the current emperor of the lightning country. While the succession of the lightning emperor as he remembered happened ten years ago.
And most effectively, Fang Ama gave the imperial office directly to his 20-year-old grandson without going through Fang Ama's son first. That makes for a pretty broad question about the incident. Some say that Fang Ama's son is dead and leaves grandchildren as his heir.
Fang Ama seemed to have quite a long tenure, but either he did not know how long he had become an emperor. Because he said when Alta was born, Fang Ama had already been the previous emperor for several years.
Alta was now fifteen years old, while this grandfather had been here since Fang Ama had become an emperor. So you could say, they have been in this place for decades.
“30 years, maybe?” Alta guessed it.
“Maybe, the point is grandma forgot.”
Alta was really surprised. They lived in this place for thirty years? That's a pretty incredible thing. Not just anyone can live without someone else who makes them both alone.
“Did grandparents have a son before being here?” Ask Alta.
Yasmine's grandmother lowered her head. He then replied with a clean slit. “Yes, we have a son. Maybe we even have a grandson.”
Alta who saw grandma's reaction, she really felt guilty. She didn't know it actually made Yasmine's grandmother feel quite sad. So Alta chose not to reply.
“What are you talking about. Alta, drink the medicine that grandpa made, it will make you much better again.” Hanzel came with a wooden bowl filled with a liquid with a pungent odor.
Even Alta herself closed her nose because the smell of the medicine was really very pungent which made her really not so resistant and wanted to vomit. Unfortunately he did not want to make Hanzel feel offended by his response. So he took the drug.
“Haha, although it looks very stinging, but it will make you feel quite good.” Hanzel reassures Alta, though Alta looks rather doubtful..
Alta nodded hesitantly and took the medicine from Hanzel's hands. He stared at the liquid with mixed feelings. Will this medication really make you feel better? He had never consumed a medicine with such a strong smell before.
"In, in one gulp," Yasmin said gently, giving Alta a boost of encouragement.
Feeling a little forced, Alta decided to trust them. He held the wooden bowl tightly and closed his eyes. With a palpitating feeling, he took the medicine in one long gulp.
Alta surprised. The medicine really works! He opened his eyes and looked towards Hanzel and Yasmin with great hope.
"How are you feeling, Alta?" yasmin asked with a gentle smile on her face.
“I feel much more energized compared to before. My body is really warm. Thanks grandpa.”
"No need to thank you, Alta. We just want to help" Hanzel said humbly.
Alta felt moved by the kindness of this old couple. Even though they lived in a secluded place and lived a simple life, they did not hesitate to help others. It was really inspiring for him.
It's just that, no matter how he had to get out of this place. He had a family, so there was no way he would let his father and mother dissolve into a deep enough sadness.
Alta had been missing for three months. There was no way his parents were not worried about losing him. Although he was completely useless, but they really loved Alta no matter what her condition was.
What parent would watch their child suffer? Even if there is an old man that is completely immoral and is a bad parent.
“Lunch is ready to be served.” Yasmine says.
They finally had lunch together.
Although this place is not an imperial area or a place filled with all-round food ingredients, but Yasmine's food is not bad. Alta admitted, the seasoning felt really very delicious with a fairly abundant aroma.
He was very confident that this food might not be less delicious than the food that was outside. Even if you only use materials around.
After lunch together, Hanzel and Yasmin take Alta around their residence. They introduced it to medicinal herbs and nearby water sources that were already part of their daily lives.
The trees and other plants here live towering and very large. There are even some trees that have quite thick stems. It may take five people to embrace the tree trunk.
"You two really live with nature, huh?" Alta asked in awe, seeing how close they were to nature around there.
Yasmin smiled softly, "We've been living here since we were young, countless how long. But we're pretty happy with this simple life."
"Living here makes us feel close to nature, and we learn to appreciate all the gifts given by nature" added Hanzel with a beaming face.
“Although this is the bottom of the abyss, but the sun can also penetrate. So there is no such thing as darkness.” Yasmine said as she looked up.
Altair understands. He just remembered that he was at the bottom of a ravine with a width that might exceed 1 km between cliffs. Not to mention its immeasurable length. It's just, if he wanted to go back how did he rise to the surface? It confused Alta.
Alta listened enthusiastically. For him, this simple and coexisting life with nature sounds very interesting. She feels inspired by the life story of Hanzel and Yasmin that is full of serenity.
