The journey from the village to the city takes almost two hours. The location of the village which is in a mountainous area with winding roads and up and down makes the car unable to go fast.
Before arriving in the city, Reiga helped the village health center to contact one of the largest hospitals in the city. Reiga chose a hospital that was not far from the apartment he lived in while in the city. That way, he and Carnation no longer need to rent a temporary residence.
By late afternoon, they had reached the destination hospital. Quickly, doctors and nurses immediately performed a complete examination of Dorman.
While waiting, Reiga took care of all the administration and registration requirements of the patients, while Anyelir sincerely accompanied Dorman through the examination.
"How's he doing, Doc?" reiga asked after finishing his business. He went to the doctor on duty.
"We will be making observations for a while while waiting for the lab results to come out. In the meantime, we have not been able to conclude. So please wait and be patient" replied the doctor.
"Okay, thank you." Reiga left the doctor and approached Anyelir who was sitting beside the bed where Dorman lay weak.
"You okay?" ask Reiga.
"Yes." Yeah." Carnations nod.
"I'll take you to my apartment. Rest there tonight, I'll keep Dad here" Reiga said.
"It's okay, I'll be here too."
"Don't refuse, you need to rest."
"But ...."
"St! Father will be fine, I will take care of it" Reiga interrupted before Anyelir continued his words.
"Hmm, okay." Carnations also agree.
Anyway, Carnations felt very tired. The girl had never been in a car let alone by traveling so far. Carnations have resisted nausea because they are not used to riding four-wheeled vehicles.
The distance between the hospital and Reiga's apartment is quite close. Only less than five minutes if they drive a car, can even be reached on foot.
"You live here?" ask Carnation. He saw a tall building with many windows from where he stood.
"Hmm, my apartment is on the third floor. Come on!" exciting Reiga.
Carnations take the elevator with Reiga. The village girl had just set foot in the city for the first time and was amazed by the various places she had just seen.
Upon arriving in front of his unit, Reiga invited Anyelir in.
"Come on!"
Carnations nodded, taking off the sandals he was wearing and observing his surroundings.
"Well, that's great," amazed Carnation.
"You like it?"
"Not too big, but very loud and comfortable!" his praise.
"Because I live alone, then I only use one room. The other room I deliberately used as a study room and my personal library," explained Reiga. He took Carnation to the room.
"This is my room, rest here. And that, the bathroom," explains Reiga. Carnations observe and understand.
After leaving the room, Reiga told the location of the kitchen and the location of the items that could have been needed.
"I like this place. You live alone but your house is very neat, everything is well organized," said Anyelir.
"Ah, this is simple. I'm used to living alone so I'm independent" Reiga said. "The uncle who took care of me died six years ago. So, I bought this apartment and decided to live independently. I don't want to trouble anyone else" he continued.
Carnations smiled, looking at Reiga with a look of admiration. Despite being born from the blood of an abusive and grumpy man like Dorman, Reiga grew up to be a kind, gentle, and affectionate man.
Carnations had never known Reiga's biological mother before, but Anyelir was convinced, if Reiga's good nature must have declined from her mother.
"I'll be in the hospital to look after my dad at night, you can come in the morning to replace me if you want" Reiga said.
"Sure, we can share the task." Carnations agree. Reiga smiled looking at his stepmother.
"I have to go back to the hospital. Take a break, I'll order food for you and you just have to wait, someone will come to take her" Reiga said.
"Good." Carnations nodded in understanding. He escorted Reiga to the front door, waiting until the man entered the elevator.
Reiga waved and smiled before the elevator door closed, suddenly causing a strange tremor in Carnation's heart.
