“Come out!”
Shouted Nolas loudly while throwing a wooden sword into the dark room. His face looked like a starving lion and was ready to pounce on prey. After taking out his captive, he took off his yellow suit and glasses. The prisoner that Nolas had just released was a boy, that's right, that boy named Tinos.
I don't know what Nolas was thinking, why he took Tinos out. Though he agreed to lock the boy up as per Marco's orders. What's with Nolas, is he up to something? Or he wants to do some weird research on Tinos. No way, there seemed to be other intentions that he was hiding.
The one-toothed and crib-haired boy came out of the dark place. He obeyed what Nolas had commanded. The wooden sword that had been thrown at him had been held tightly. Very carefully, Tinos ventured to ask Nolas.
“What will you do to me, Uncle?”
“Don't ask much, now follow me. You follow all my orders if you still love your life,” said Nolas.
Tinos follows Nolas as he walks towards the back of the laboratory. Tinos gulped his saliva in fear. He could not think clearly, imagining the horrors that might happen. It could be that the strange scientist will tear apart his stomach contents to be examined. Or maybe his body will be turned into a robot. Tinos shook his head as he rubbed his forehead, he wanted to dispose of all those negative thoughts. If you have been afraid from the beginning, then your fear will rule you. Tinos remembers the sentence Marco once uttered to dispel his fear.
They walked through a cold hallway. The hallway was not so big, the lights were dimly lit, making an impression of being haunted and terrifying. Tinos took his breath and remained on alert. Who knew Nolas would pounce on him all of a sudden. The fear that still lingers makes his knees feel like they want to stop moving, but he still ventured to follow the person named Nolas.
They have been walking down the hall for a long time. But there was no clarity on what place they were going. Whether the passageway has no end, or is a channel to another dimension. Wild imagination begins to take hold of Tinos' mind. He began to imagine strange things.
Finally Nolas stopped right in front of a door. The hallway is really strange, why is there a door at the end. Tinos stops and keeps his distance from Nolas. His eyes kept staring intently watching all the movements made by Nolas.
“What is this place, where are you taking me?” ask Tinos.
“You'll find out soon.”
Nolas opened the locked door. The door opened, what an amazing sight. Behind the door there was a field that was overgrown with green grass and manicured.
“Why is there a place like this in the lab?”
“Yes. We're actually underground. This is the basement I made my research lab.”
“Then why can there be a land of this size here,” Tinos still curious.
“This land is a place to research wild animals as well as new tools that have never been tested at all and are at risk of exploding.”
“So, what's your purpose in bringing me here?”
“You want to fight with Marco, right?”
The phrase Nolas made Tinos dumbfounded. Tinos does not understand what Nolas's purpose is to free himself from confinement and take him to this strange place.
“No need. You're going to practice here with me. I'll be your mentor.”
“Hah?” Tinos's confused.
“You I gave the sword to practice.”
“But this is a wooden sword. What can I do with this toy gun.”
“Do not protest. You should practice using the wooden sword first. But, before that, I will train your muscles first.”
“Can I be great?”
“Nobody knows. Let's try it first.”
Finally the boy was willing to obey the words of Nolas. Their exercises are very strange, first have to do exercises to strengthen the muscles. The exercise uses a very heavy iron ball to strengthen the arm muscles. Then pull out the grass in the field to strengthen the grip of the fingers. Then stand on one leg alternately for 12 hours.
The strange exercise did not stop there. To strengthen his back muscles, Tinos had to sleep on his stomach on the ground, then his back was overwritten with a giant flat stone. The more days the weight of the stone will be gradually added. This exercise was more like torture, since Tinos was still a boy. Nolas was really unforgiving, he was very hard at training Tinos.
On the other hand, Marco also continued to train with other soldiers in Harfil Village. He did not know the fate of Tinos which was of great concern. It was hard for the days that Tinos spent under the watch of Nolas. If an ordinary boy would have died from undergoing such crazy training. After all the heavy things Tinos had managed to pass through, he finally began to be taught how to use the sword.
“Can the sword fight the giant Trovolta? I want to fight long distance only, with firearms for example,” Tinos chirped.
“If you want to use another weapon it's okay. But you must master this swordsmanship first. With a sword, enemies will be easier to reach and easily ensure their death.”
“Good. If I have mastered swordsmanship, teach me other weapons as well.”
“Ya.”
It's been 4 weeks that the boy has been doing sadistic training with Nolas. If he were to defy just once, then he would not get the ration of food. I don't know what Nolas expects from a boy named Tinos. The boy was actually very chatty, not suitable if he was a war soldier, there he would make a speech in the middle of the battlefield. His mouth really can not be stopped when it is cool to talk, even foaming, if not sleeping he can not be silent. Just sleep he often delirious not careless.
Marco was used to hearing the babble of the boy. His eardrum was covered in steel and would not break if he heard Tinos's bells. Maybe someone else will faint because his brain is damaged because of the ravages of the mouth of Tinos. Was he born just to be a talkative person? I don't know.
