The Mystery of the Dead Village

The Mystery of the Dead Village
Episode 3 - Nekro Chorio [Dead Village]

Still on the way to the opposite village, the two sat comfortably on the motorbike while interspersed with small talk.

The breeze touches up to the pores of the skin, even though this is the middle of the day that should feel the heat from the hot sun. Maybe because the many trees make the city cool.

But what makes it less comfortable here is the lack of lighting because the light from the sun is blocked by shady trees. Alea felt the city was darker than his hometown, Osi Bhinna.

"How is it at night? the street lights are just a little." His inner.

"Is Kak Ali comfortable living here?" ask Alea.

Ali slightly turned her head to glance at the rearview mirror which revealed Alea's face behind her. "Of course, what's it for you to stay here for years if it's uncomfortable." The answer.

Alea nodded. "Hmm, but it's cool here, unlike our hometown, where the heat is so hot during the day makes the body always feel sultry."

Osi Bhinna is a remote city where residents are close to each other and even home to each other. For the trees are very normal, unlike this Marubhumi. This leaves the area exposed to direct sunlight. If you compare the temperature between them it may be a difference of 15 degrees Celsius.

"Definitely it's cold at night?" continued.

"Yes that way, sleep does not need to use a fan anymore, save money, right?" sahut Ali chuckled.

The motor continues to drive down a fairly quiet road, until a wide and long paved bridge is in sight.

Alea who saw that was a little scared, because the bridge was really dark and flanked by two large banyan trees on his left and right sides.

When he entered it, the girl had seen an old, worn and quite large board attached to the right side of the road with the words:

...kalos arrthes sto...

...Nekro Chorio...

"Welcome to Kampung Mati ?"

The language that Alea understood was able to make him frown in wonder and bewildered by the name of the hamlet written on the board. Why is it called a dead village? thought. Plus the writing is thick red like dried blood and also the writing is not neat.

A cold chill hit his body, for some reason Alea suddenly felt very creepy. He hugged his sister's waist tightly.

The bridge was not smooth, full of puddles and many gravels resulting from the damaged road. Looking down there are times when the water is very dirty. If measured it seems like the time is deep enough, especially the water current is very heavy.

Arriving between the two banyan trees, he felt his ears ringing, a strong wind sweeping his face, dry leaves falling flying in an uncertain direction. Both eyes closed, Alea increasingly felt around her very crowded as if many people were passing by, and also the voices that were not clearly heard in her ears, he said, like the subtle whispers he felt were fixed on him.

All over his body, he immediately opened his eyes again. Alea realized that there was only him and Ali, the older brother who continued to ride his motorcycle calmly as if he felt nothing. He was watching the surroundings which was fine. No strong winds or flying leaves. Everything seemed calm, only the air was still cold.

Was that just a feeling?

"Is the place still far away, brother?" aela asked breaking the silence also trying to calm down against her fear.

Ali just nodded slowly making Alea dissatisfied with her answer. He felt when passing this bridge suddenly the brother became silent mode. There was no more conversation between them, because Ali remained in silence who focused on looking at the direction of the road.

Finally after a moment of tension, Alea was able to breathe a sigh of relief when she was away from the creepy bridge. How not? The existence of two large banyan trees that make the bridge becomes rather spooky. The tree is placed in wait or inhabited by supernatural beings, plus the hanging roots that protrude from the branches down to touch the bottom. And because it's daytime now it's not so scary, don't know what the conditions are at night.

Up to about 300 meters from the bridge there is a large two-story house. The house has a large courtyard filled with flower plants in front of it.

Ali turned off the motorbike in the yard because there was no fence, so it was easy for him to enter and park it in front of the terrace.

"Let's get down, Deck." Take it off while you open the helmet.

"Is this the hostel's house?" asked Alea while looking around.

"Yes, let's follow brother." Ali walked first to the door of the house that was tightly closed.

Alea himself was so admiring the figure before him, it was certain that many men were yearning for this woman. If you can guess Alea is roughly the age of 30 years. That was Alea's mind.

"Excuse me, Nyai Gendis." Sapa Ali to the woman named Gendis.

Is young called Nyai? alea muttered inwardly when she heard her brother greet the woman.

"Yes what's wrong?" nyai Gendis replied with a friendly smile and her eyes kept glancing towards Alea.

"I asked yesterday about the boarding room and this is my sister who intends to occupy the boarding house. If I may my sister will look around first, if it is suitable it will probably be directly occupied." Ali explained to the owner of the room.

Nyai Gendis nodded. "Of course I can." His word.

As Ali was explaining her intentions and goals, Alea focused on the window on the top floor of the house. For some reason his eyes seemed interested in looking in that direction, there was a shadow looking at him behind that window.

And it became clear when the figure appeared that a girl was smiling at him. But it seemed strange, that unusual smile actually frightened Alea. Circumference of eyes are black, lips pale and hair blonde. His head slightly looked up but his eyes were pointing down and glaring at Alea.

Alea's body shook and hurriedly turned his gaze down.

Nyai Gendis who had been watching Alea immediately asked, "You why, son?" while holding Alea's shoulder for a moment and then immediately released.

"Emm it's okay, Nyai." Alea replied a little nervously.

"You must've seen my son upstairs?" nyai Gendis asked again.

"Kids?" Alea asked back as if she wanted to know more.

"Yes, she's my 10-year-old daughter Nina, she always keeps herself locked up in her room and enjoys leaning behind the window while watching the people in front of her house." Nyai Gendis.

But Alea was still curious, what makes him always locked up? the face of the child was not like a normal human being. Wanted to look back up but was detained by Nyai Gendis.

"No need to pay attention anymore." Prevent Nyai Gendis.

"I'm sorry, but shouldn't a child her age play outside more, why is Nina locked away, Nyai?" alea asked carefully, afraid that she would offend the woman in front of her.

"Nina was so happy just playing in her room, because she had so many friends in there." Nyai Gendis replied to Alea's question casually.

His words Gendis was too ambiguous for Alea. Many friends? why does the room look like there is no life in it, from the outside of the window it is clearly dark. After all this region was very quiet, then if they were playing it would definitely sound. He wanted to ask again, but he did not have the right to know the lives of others, nor did he intend to pry or find out about Nyai Gendis and his son, either, because it might make the woman feel uncomfortable. Alea just nodded pretending to understand.

Meanwhile, Ali was just silent listening to the chatter of the two women nearby, he was made curious and when looking at the window of the room he did not find anyone there, the windows and curtains were closed.

"Oh yeah, what's your name?" Nyai Gendis asked as she continued to show off her beautiful smile.

"Alea, Nye." Answer Alea.

"So you want to rent a room?" Ask again.

"Yes right, Nyai. Can I see it now?" to be honest Alea was confused by this woman before him who kept looking at him from head to toe, was there something wrong with me? thought in the heart.

"Oh yeah for a second, I'll lock the door first. After that we go straight there, just walk because the cost is near and behind my house."

Alea nodded in agreement, patiently waiting for Nyai Gendis to lock the door of her house.

"Let's follow me." Take Nyai Gendis, and they walk towards the boarding place behind the mansion.
