"What's my mother's connection to the Langton family?"
Amy looked up, asking Derek who was standing in front of her.
"Did your mom or dad never explain it?" Derek looked down at the two eyes of Amy who was crying, his hand outstretched to wipe away Amy's tears.
Amy shakes. His parents never mentioned the relationship between his mother and the Langton family. Amy only knows they are her father's enemies.
"Your mother is Steve Langton's adopted daughter. A few months after Margaret's wife from Steve died, she who was then 5 years old was taken and adopted by Steve. Steve has 2 sons, my father Erland Langton and his brother Jonathan. Your mother's presence is treating their loss."
"Margaret...."
"Your mother's name before marriage was Margaret Langton. It is named after Steve's dead wife. She changed her surname to Greta Sky after marrying your father. Your mother .. who is also a true love for my father."
"Love your father?" Amy parroted.
"My father Erland never considered Margaret a sister, he loved her even to the end of his life."
"But mamma .. loves you very much."
"That's what my father couldn't change. Whatever he did, he could not change Margaret's feelings for him. He loved her as a sister, a brother she loved very much. Erland was on a rampage when she found out Margaret eloped with your father. My grandfather kicked her out, thinking she was no longer Langton's family for marrying an enemy. Then Erland began to provoke a feud with your father on various occasions. But he refrained from killing your father just because of your mother's existence."
Amy displeased. His face faced Derek and looked into his eyes. But his mind floated in memory of the figure of the mother he loved so much.
"My father released the Margaret he loved so much for your father." Derek stroked Amy's cheeks, feeling and admiring the smoothness of the skin he touched. Returns Amy to the reality of the figure of the man standing before her.
"But in the end your family still killed him." Amy frowned in memory of the shooting of her father.
"I've taken care of Jack .. Your father and the other victims are also properly buried ..." Derek's hand moved to caress Amy's fine wavy brown hair . Her eyes locked onto Amy's eyes, as if pressing Amy to listen to every word she said.
"I understand the loss you're feeling. Like I understand the sense of loss Jack felt when he found out his father died in a gunfight with your father."
Amy shook her eyes wide, "what do you mean?"
"But my father was always by Mamma's side .. He promised never to touch that world again. Especially after Mama got sick for 7 years and finally left ...."
Derek smiled wryly at Amy's remark ..he vividly recalled following his father to Margaret's funeral. They follow from afar until the procession is complete and Arthur and his entourage have left the cemetery.
Derek accompanied his long-sitting father in front of Margaret's tomb. Listening to the whirling wind that was joined by the whisper of his father saying goodbye . until a phone call stopped everything and spurred them to the scene of the infighting triggered by Jonathan.
Jonathan sees Arthur's deep sadness at losing Margaret as a weakness, thinking it's Arthur's weakest moment. She could never quell her anger because her sister was married to Arthur, but just like Erland, she refrained from killing Arthur because Margaret loved their enemy so much.
Jonathan no longer felt the need to hold back when he learned Margaret had died. He made the assault at one point on his way home as the grieving entourage of Arthur's family returned home from the burial area.
But Jonathan's calculations turned out to be far away. Arthur Sky has been perfectly prepared to protect his only daughter after his wife Greta Sky who was the reason the Langton family held back from killing has been declared dead.
The multi-layered guard outside the small entourage was ready to face any attacks that would appear. And Arthur's estimation is very precise, the whirring of a bullet directed at the limousine containing his dearest daughter makes Arthur bully his gears holding back angrily. Fortunately, it put Amy to sleep.
As soon as they left the gate of the cemetery area, under the pretext of calming Amy, she held out a drink that was immediately gulped down by Amy who did not stop crying.
Arthur believes the assault on their entourage is coming soon, and his estimate is correct. Jonathan Langton even dared to aim a bullet at his daughter who was sleeping so badly that he did not hear the whirring of bullets flying between the clans.
Arthur's order is to finish without rest, no attacker of his daughter should be allowed to live because it will endanger his daughter's life in the future. Arthur left only the black skeleton of a car that had been charred in flames.
"You were in one of the cars when the attack happened. Don't you remember?"
Amy shook her head, "which car? When was the time of the attack?"
"When you came home from your mother's funeral .. You were there then right?"
Amy recalled coming home from her mother's funeral, on the way home she fell asleep. Her father said she was exhausted from not stopping crying.
"I fell asleep on my way home. I woke up in my own bed a few hours after the funeral was over."
