THE PENANCE: THE PEBINOR
The Extra Part I

Zael was reading a book in the living room. Suddenly the sound of a car entering the courtyard of the house. Zael frowned.

It turned out that the one who came was a Febrian with 3 police cars. They entered Zael's house and found the man reading a book.

"We're from the police and we're getting reports that Miss Nalesha Gunindra lives here. We have to conduct an investigation" Irfan said while showing a search permit from his superiors.

Zael looked at Febrian.

"Don't ask me how I found your house. You went out into the woods and I followed you. You hid Nalesha here. We have to investigate whether this is a kidnapping case or not" Febrian said.

While Nalesha hid behind the wall eavesdropping on their conversation.

"The girl ran away from her house. He must have gotten bad treatment from his family" Zael said.

"We're going to investigate, you don't have to worry" said Febrian, then he gave the order, "Search his house and find Nalesha."

Zael looked at Febrian. "You who?"

"Why are you asking? It's clear I'm a cop" replied Febrian.

"I mean, who are you to that girl? Do you guys have a relationship?" Ask Zael.

Febrian. He doesn't know what to answer. He looked at Zael. "I came here because I'm a cop, it doesn't matter who I am for him."

"So you're a nobody to him? That's why you don't know anything about him. His suffering, his life problems, and his fear" Zael said.

"What do you mean? Who are you to him? You're not his cousin. Her sister Nalesha has confirmed this. What did you do to her so she would stay with you?" Febrian asked back.

"I am the place to go" replied Zael.

"Zael! I don't want to go home! Zael, stop them, "please Nalesha when she is found by the police who searched.

Febrian looked at Nalesha and Zael alternately. Irfan awaits orders from Febrian.

"Sister Febrian, don't do this please! I don't want to go back to that house. Just tell Fahreza and the others that I'm dead" cried Nalesha.

"Nalesha, you don't know how hard we've been looking for you. Your brothers are very stressed thinking about your situation during the disappearance" said Febrian.

Nalesha. He looked at Zael. "Zael, if I go back to that house, they'll kill me."

"That's not gonna happen!" Cut Febrian.

Nalesha. "Zael, please don't let them take me."

"Take him to the car. Irfan, handcuffs the man. We'll interrogate him" said Febrian.

"Good, sir."

Febrian walked first while carrying Nalesha to the car. As they sat next to each other, Febrian said, "You have nothing to fear, I will take care of you. I'll also investigate the crimes your brother committed."

Nalesha. "If I die, make me the dying man you helped for your penance."

Febrian. "You mean?"

Nalesha looked at Febrian sharply. "I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to Zael."

Suddenly someone opened the car door, it turned out to be Zael. The man takes Nalesha out of the car, but Febrian grabs Nalesha's hand.

Zael looked at Febrian. Suddenly the color of Zael's eyes turned bright orange. Both of Febrian's eyes widened. Everything became glare and suddenly dark.

"Forget what is happening right now as if it never happened. You're back to your usual activities."

After the voice disappeared, Febrian opened her eyes. He looked around. Turns out he was at the police station. The police are busy with their jobs.

Febrian held his head. "What's going on? I feel like something's missing from my memory."
