The Pride of an Ex

The Pride of an Ex
episode 5's

"Will go to the factory?" I asked my mom when we were having breakfast.

I nodded while feeding the rice into my mouth quickly.

I woke up this morning. Not because it was so good to sleep on a big mattress, but because Seila was whining to go home. He could not sleep because there was no beloved doll that his mother-in-law took at that time.

Mama and Papa took turns persuading, even holding my daughter, until finally Seila was able to sleep because she was too tired to cry.

"Why go to the factory anyway, Al. Never mind, just let us go for a walk. Shopping, playing and buying dolls for Seila," Mama persuaded.

However, my decision is already unanimous. I'm going to the factory to work. Running a mission, which I discussed with Papa last night.

"Can't, Mah. Alira has to keep working. And... Tipped Seila huh, Mah?" I glanced at the little princess who had breakfast with us.

"No need to be checked, Seila is our responsibility, Al. Believe me Mama, Seila will be fine here," Mama said confidently.

I believe and strongly believe that Mama can take good care of Seila. However, the problem was with Seila. The little girl scowled reluctantly as I stayed. Naturally, this house and my two parents are still strangers to Seila. As a result, it took us a lot of time to persuade my daughter.

After breakfast and successfully persuaded Seila, I immediately left for the factory. I left early in the morning, because the distance from the factory from Papa's house was quite far.

"Depart on," I said after getting in the car.

"Stay work, No? I think, Non Alira will not go to the factory again," Adi said opening the conversation.

Adi glanced at me from the front rearview mirror. He kept his phone on the dashboard of the car, then started the car engine.

"Where can it be, Di. I have to keep working to support my daughter" I said.

"Alah, mode. At best, Non Alira wants to do something. Mana may have returned to the palace still want to work so upik ash. There must be something to this," said Adi ended with an oddity.

I just pursed my lips while staring at the phone screen. The new phone, the one Mama bought last night.

What I'm wearing now, all new. Included interior. Nathan's identity is completely gone from inside me.

I will throw away everything about him, even if it is only his shadow once.

"Non, man,"

"Hem," I muttered in response to Adi's call.

"Can it be something?"

I stopped my fingers exploring the phone screen for a moment, then went back to surfing in cyberspace.

"Ask, Di."

"Non Alira has split officially or is it still religious?"

I glanced at Adi who was also glancing at me through the front rearview mirror.

What a strange question.

"Why are you suddenly doing that? Kepo," I said, turning my eyes back to the cell phone.

"Only, Non. Not to be on the road".

I'm silent. I don't think Adi's question matters I should answer. It's been very personal, and I'm not the kind of person to easily discuss household matters with others.

My story with Nathan was finished four months ago.

I have a letter from the court that I have also received. In fact, I spent my iddah time at her house. Not because I was shameless, but for the sake of maintaining my pride as a woman.

My pain is suppressed, for the sake of true freedom.

"What's wrong, Di. I just don't want to discuss the matter," I concluded.

There was no more chatter between Adi and me until we finally reached the factory gate.

When I got down, I was the center of attention for getting out of a German-made, shiny white sedan.

The prickling of my people I hear is bad in the ears. Some say it is an online taxi, but not infrequently there are also those who say if the one who just drove me was my customer.

Duh, very narrow thinking. Is it just because I am a widow, I am willing to take myself to a man?

That's not possible.

"Lin, who was it? your boyfriend or girlfriend?" ask a blonde woman when I pass her.

"The boss of the time" said a friend who was next to him.

I pay no heed to their discordant words. Hurry inside the factory, then walk towards the restroom. Washing my face will probably make my mood cool again.

"It's only been a few months of widows, now it's been brave among rich men. Or maybe a seductress, actually a seductress,"

I stopped stepping, staring intently at a woman who had just insinuated me. He did not mention a name, but his words were very clear towards me who was not far from where he stood. And there were only the two of us in this place.

"What were your words to me?" ask me while stepping slowly towards him.

"Yes, for you".

"thank you. Your words of pearl are very good. But... aren't you insinuated by your words?"

The thick-browed woman looked at me full of question marks. "What do you mean?" ask her.

Ah, I thought my ex-wife was smart. It's not as smart as I thought. Or, she was pretending to be innocent as she was telling everyone about her marriage to Nathan which she confessed at my request.

The drama queen.

I step back. Eroding the distance, putting him in threat. It's an advantage we can meet here. Because what? because there's no CCTV to record what I did to that rich lady.

"Woman teaser. Isn't that a word that's appropriate for you? You tease a man who at that time was still the husband of another woman. And then get married, without even thinking about his wife's feelings," I pressed my teeth together.

I want to scratch her face and eat her alive. However, it won't be fun for me. The nice thing is, I kept walking until he pushed back his footsteps to avoid me.

"Why should I think about your feelings? I got married because Nathan asked. He's tired of you not being able to give him what he wants. From me, everything he got. Warmth, happiness, even wealth."

"Pretty proud of that?" I said as I continued to step.

"Yes, of course. The proof is, every day Nathan keeps praising my beauty and vilifying you. You are nothing compared to me, Alira," said Emira so arrogantly.

I stopped stepping. Shaking the head ensures that the target will hit the target.

"really? Okay, let's see if your Nathan will come to his aid when his wife is inside..."

BYURR!

I raised both hands, pushing Emira's shoulders until she splashed into a large bucket of dirty water mopping the floor.

Then I ran the ridge away from the toilet before anyone else saw me.

"Gathere!!"
