The Swordsman of Heaven

The Swordsman of Heaven
Chapter 8: Zhao Feng's Escape Continues

Chapters 8.

"Shin Mo!"

Elder Zhao Yun stared at Elder Shin Mo with a hateful gaze, as if he was desperate to kill the savage old man.

However of course Elder Shin Mo would not volunteer to be beaten by Zhao Yun, he would do everything possible to defeat him, even though his Cultivation Realm was very far behind Zhao Yun's Cultivation Land.

"Zhao Yun! Don't think your cultivation realm will scare me!"

Shin Mo said very loudly, without any fear shown by him. Zhao Yun, who was previously in a state of great anger, grew bigger after hearing that Shin Mo was challenging him.

Although Elder Shin Mo's cultivation realm was very far below Elder Zhao Yun, that was, at the 1-star Saint realm cultivation realm, but he possessed an extremely valuable Strengthening Artifact. With such an Artifact, he could increase his strength to the equivalent of the strength of a Cultivator with a Saint 3-Star Cultivation Realm, although not for too long.

The artifact he obtained from the relics of the Grand Elder of the Thousand Star Sect before, which he certainly obtained by force. With the Artifact, Elder Shin Mo felt confident to fight against Elder Zhao Yun.

And in the end the great battle between the two Elders occurred, all those in the Thousand Star Sect were struck with great fear, because the two Elders had stepped on a very high realm.

The two Elders fought very fiercely, without being seen if any side was left behind. Although Elder Shin Mo was far below Elder Zhao Yun, but with the reinforcement Artifacts he had, made Shin Mo become on par with Zhao Yun.

"I didn't think you'd compensate me, savage old man!"

Realizing that the fight would last a long time, in the end Elder Zhao Yun used his original ability to immediately end this battle.

"Who are you calling old man?! Remember that you too are an old man nearing the end of your life!"

Feeling displeased with the insults from Elder Zhao Yun, Elder Shin Mo also did not want to lose to Elder Zhao Yun. By expending all of his strength, he wanted to end this fight as well as the life of Elder Zhao Yun.

With the sudden appearance of a shadow of a giant wolf from behind Elder Shin Mo, as well as Elder Zhao Yun, but what distinguished him was, Elder Zhao Yun cast a shadow of a Giant Eagle that appeared behind him.

The other elders who saw the battle became amazed, because to obtain a Spiritual Soul Beast was a very difficult thing for them, even almost impossible to do.

"Death Scratch!"

Elder Shin Mo immediately attacked Zhao Yun using claws that appeared from both his hands. Yet all the attacks from him were successfully avoided by Elder Zhao Yun.

"Definitely Not!"

However Elder Zhao Yun would not let his opponent continue to attack him. Using one of his strongest techniques, Zhao Yun attempted to defeat Elder Shin Mo before this fight would impact to damage the entire area of the Thousand Star Sect.

The speed of Zhao Yun's attack was very confusing to Shin Mo, that was the original strength of a Cultivator with a Saint Cultivation Realm, a peak cultivation realm that mortal people could reach. As a result, Elder Shin Mo had to give up the attack from Elder Zhao Yun to hit his body very hard.

"Akh!"

The kick from Elder Zhao Yun finally lodged itself firmly in Shin Mo's chest, which instantly caused the old man's body to bounce very far away.

Booms!

An extremely violent Qi explosion occurred when the body of Elder Shin Mo smashed into a building that was behind him. All the Elders who saw that, immediately approached the place of defeat from Shin Mo to lend him a helping hand.

"Sister!"

Seeing the defeat of the older brother, made Shin Mo Chi look so very panicked about the condition of Elder Shin Mo. His body had been filled with blood, his gaze had also begun to fade, a sign of how big the wound he had just received was.

Although Elder Zhao Yun felt very satisfied when he saw the condition of Elder Shin Mo who was so very sad, but on the side of his deepest heart he felt very sorry for his condition.

Elder Zhao Yun immediately took the pill from under his shirt pocket and gave it to Elder Shin Mo. Even though she hated Shin Mo so much for what he did to her son, she would never forget the close friendship she had once had.

After the pill was successfully swallowed by Elder Shin Mo, his body that had previously been destroyed, now gradually began to improve. Seeing the condition of the elder brother that began to improve, made Elder Shin Mo Chi feel relieved and happy.

After confirming the state of Shin Mo that was starting to improve, Elder Zhao Yun immediately gave a punishment for the actions that Shin Mo had taken. A person who did such a thing was not worthy to be one of the Elders in the Thousand Star Sect, which signified that day as well, that day, Elder Shin Mo had lost his post as one of the Elders of the Thousand Star Sect.

With a heavy heart, all the Elders also approved the proposal from Elder Zhao Yun, signifying that there would be no more to save Shin Mo from his punishment.

The Great Elder knew that this was a very light punishment for Shin Mo, because Shin Mo was originally worthy of the death penalty. But he realized that Elder Zhao Yun gave Shin Mo a waiver, considering that the two were good friends when they were young.

After giving a decent punishment to Shin Mo, Elder Zhao Yun immediately ordered all the Senior disciples of the Thousand Star Sect, especially the disciples from Elder Shin Mo to come and face him. No one dared to resist, because everyone had seen how powerful the strength Zhao Yun possessed.

"Find Zhao Feng in this entire Star City! Especially for the disciples who had come to torture Zhao Feng! If you can't find him, then say goodbye to this Sect!"

Zhao Feng said very loudly, which made all the disciples obey at his command. All the disciples that were under the upbringing of Elder Shin Mo finally got a breath of fresh air, because there was still a chance for them to stay in this Sect.

**I'm sorry dad, Zhao Feng. I guess just an apology won't be enough compared to all the suffering you've been through...**

Zhao Yun sat down sadly upon learning how unlucky his son's fate was. Yet on the other hand, he was also certain that Zhao Feng had received such a precious life lesson. And he also hopes that his son will turn his suffering into a determination to become the strongest in all corners of the world.

...----------------...

In a forest very far from Star City, there was a shabby young man who was running nonstop. Although both of his legs were covered in blood, the young man continued on his way without stopping.

The young man was none other than Zhao Feng who was escaping from the clutches of Elder Shin Mo, unaware of all the events that were happening in the Thousand Star Sect right now. Now all he had in mind was how he could escape, for he no longer wanted to accept such a painful suffering.

But what Zhao Feng didn't realize, was that he was now very far away from the Thousand Star Sect, the fact that he had never come out from within the Sect, making Zhao Feng never know the condition of the outside world.

With a strong determination to become the strongest, Zhao Feng broke through the thickets before him without thinking about the risks he had to bear.

After performing his escape for 5 consecutive hours without stopping, now Zhao Feng had lost all his strength. Leaning under a shady tree, the young man seemed to be thinking about what to do ahead.

When viewed by Zhao Feng, the forest he was in here looked so lush, indicating that it was rare for humans to set foot in this forest. But he also felt a little relieved, because maybe his existence would not be sniffed by Elder Shin Mo as long as he was here.

After spending hours only to regain his strength, Zhao Feng finally decided to go back on his way. He intended to go deeper into the forest, in order to train without any worries for accomplices from Elder Shin Mo who was searching for his whereabouts.

The more he entered into the deepest part of the forest, for the more lush the trees around him, which affected the less light that escaped from the thick leaves of the trees.

Zhao Feng continued walking through the dense forest with a high level of vigilance, because he knew that a forest like this would usually be a residence for ferocious Beings, let alone Spiritual Beasts. He did not want a small carelessness to be an excuse for his unnatural death.

But strangely, Zhao Feng had not seen a single Spiritual Beast, not even a ferocious beast. He just felt like he was being watched by so many eyes, yet strangely none of the owners of those eyes dared to approach him, as if he felt like he was being protected by something that even he did not know.

Although he felt very confused by it all, Zhao Feng was very grateful that the beasts did not attack him. I don't know what it is, but for sure he will be very grateful for all the protection he gets.

The light of the sun, had now changed with the brightness of the moonlight, which was now even brighter than the light that shone through the forest where Zhao Feng was.

It was very strange for Zhao Feng to realize that the moonlight was brighter than Surya in illuminating this forest. But what Zhao Feng believed was, there was probably something that had arranged all of that in such a way, and also Zhao Feng did not care much about that, as he was a newcomer, either, who does not know the history that has governed it all.

Right now Zhao Feng was sitting on a log that he used as a seat, with a bonfire in front of him, he looked very comfortable as he felt the calmness of the surrounding nature.

Zhao Feng greedily ate his prey, which was a rabbit he got from hunting this afternoon. Rabbit meat that he ate was not like the usual rabbit, because the rabbit meat he ate had a different taste.

But again Zhao Feng did not care much about it, because he could eat was something he was very grateful for, given that he would only get food rations from Elder Shin Mo once a week while he was still in the Eternal Crystal Cave.

The bonfire that had been blazing so heavily, was now slowly beginning to dim, a sign that more and more time had been spent by Zhao Feng. After making sure that no signs of a beast or Spiritual Beast were about to approach, the young man decided to rest his body.

With mixed taste, Zhao Feng started to close both of his eyes. Even though he had been freed from the clutches of Elder Shin Mo, he did not know what more suffering would befall him in the future. The coming of another suffering is sure, but for now he does not want to think too much about it all, he said, because he really wants to fall asleep quietly without thinking about what will happen the next day.

At least he wanted to, even once... For he had felt how painful it was to fall asleep worried about the suffering that would come later.

"Sleep my grandson... Sleep quietly as if nothing will happen to you the next day."

But unnoticed by Zhao Feng, there was a mysterious figure who had been watching his entire movements. A figure of unknown purpose was obvious, but to be sure, that figure only wanted to make Zhao Feng obtain the rights that had all along been snatched from him. A right that Zhao Feng had long abandoned, but that right would also come to him one day.
