Chapter 44 - Born Inner Me

Azzah woke up from sleep. Morning greeted but there was a tightness in his heart.

"Why is this so hard, Mom?" ask Azzah on his ornate mirror.

"Azzah you're awake, I need to have breakfast first Zah," called Umi from outside the room.

Azzah bathed and continued to water his entire body in a tubed, dipper filled with village water that was as cold as Ice.

"I can't be far from you. I realize you've filled my heart space, is this because your son is here now" Azzah muttered.

While Ronald is at home silent. Ronald did not speak for a few days, Ronald's mood was very bad after his return without Azzah.

"My husband, I'm sorry I wanted to ask you where Azzah is?" ask Charlotte heart-heartedly.

"He's in the village" replied Ronald.

"Why didn't you come back?" ask Charlotte.

Ronald closed his eyes for a moment before answering Charlotte's question.

"He just wanted to stay a few weeks there" Ronald retorted

"Is it because of me?" ask Esme.

"No, why are you so discouraged, you feel guilty?" ask Ronald.

The door of the room opens.

Ronald immediately approached one of the nurses, who pushed the baby's aquarium.

"Wait for Sus, how's my wife?" ask Ronald.

"The Esme sisters are fine, but,"

"But what is Sus?" ask Charlotte.

"Come, sir come with us" said the nurse.

The doctor came shortly.

"With Mr Ronald?" ask Doctor.

"Before surviving the birth of your twins, I was very proud of patients like your wife who chose to keep her baby when it was critical" said the Doctor.

Ronald feels useless as the husband who always cornered Esme lately. His affection for Azzah covered the turmoil of Esme who thirsted for attention in the old pregnancy.

"I don't think I deserve to be a father" Ronald said.

"They deserve your affection" Charlotte points to two aquariums with Ronald's two tiny babies.

"Beautiful" said Charlotte, seeing a baby girl as white as snow.

"Yes, she's beautiful like her mother,"

"He's handsome like you're my husband!" esme exclaimed at the baby boy who continued to play his finger.

From outside the room Ronald was happy to also feel guilty for the incident that befell Esme.
