THE TRIDENT OF DEATH

THE TRIDENT OF DEATH
BETARAGA

Mount Halimun Peak.

The top of this mountain is covered in white clouds. If the west wind blows then the clouds march eastward and Puncak Gunang Halimun again look clear and magnificent.

After noon, a body ran like the wind, heading to the top of the mountain. The more to the top, the air is getting cooler and fresher. The man sped up his run as if he could not wait to get to where he was. Then through a drink of tea he arrived at the highest peak of the mountain. He looked around. Where the eyes look only the rocks are visible. Starting from small pebbles to upload large rocks as big as houses.

At the feet of large, slippery rocks that grow mossy weeds. The man had a big fist. He is none other than Kaligundil. Why he was at the top of this mountain is, in continuing his great plan of avenging the public revenge against the Trident of Death Rangga Geblek.

Caligundil with a light movement jumped onto one of the big rocks. Someone who does not have the knowledge to relieve a powerful body, certainly will not be able to make the jump. Even if it can, maybe so stepped on the stone, his feet will slip because of the slippery moss.

Kaligundil looked across the dead mountain peak. Between the mountains of rocks, in the middle there is a large crater that has been extinguished. This crater is cone-shaped and deep.

Kaligundil jumped again to a higher boulder. Once again, his gaze extended to the top of the mountain. If he is sure that the place where the person he wants to meet is open on the surface of the mountain top, then he immediately jumped to the edge of the crater. From here he continued down into the crater. In addition to the deep, the crater of Mount Halimun is very difficult to descend. But Kaligundil deftly jump there jump here so that in a short time he was already at the bottom of the crater.

The air inside the crater floor of this mountain is stuffy and stifling breathing. Therefore Kaligundil immediately set his airway. Once he can master the pengapan, then he immediately examined the state of the bottom of the crater where he was.

The area of the bottom of the crater which is the center of the cone is only a few times larger than a well. The entire bottom of the crater is sand mixed with soil that has been frozen and hardened for centuries after the mountain erupted.

The round of Kaligundil's eyeball stopped in a hole that was as big as a human shoulder. This man immediately approached the hole. Researching it a moment ago without hesitation immediately entered it. At first he could only crawl. But the more into the hole the bigger so that from crawling now he can bend and finally walk as usual.

Caligundil came to a four square room with rough black stones. From all four corners of this room came four faint black smoke puffs. As soon as his nose smelled the smell spread by this smoke suddenly the head of Kaligundil became dizzy. Quickly Kaligundil muster the inner energy and close the airway. Kaligundil knew that the stone room was not a dead-end room. But his eyes saw no door or a crack.

This man looked up. So look at the ceiling of the room a stone staircase. He looked around then enjot both feet and jumped to the edge of the burrow, continuing up the stone stairs.

Surprisingly, however high the science of fortifying the body he had but every step he made on the stone steps rang and echoed loudly.

Once at the top of the stairs, then Kaligundil came to a very clean white room. So clean and shiny white walls and floors and ceilings of the room, so it is like being in a glass room.

Right in the middle of the room there is a big stone and on this big stone a body like a statue in the middle of a somersault, feet up head down on the rock. This body figure is wearing a white cloth wrapped all over the body from the calf to the chest. The mediated person's head and face are invisible because they are covered by a long white beard, almost matching the length of the hair that dips on the floor and is also white. It is great how this man mediates.

But the view of Kaligundil soon split on a three-striped large tiger lying beside the man in the middle of the mediation. As soon as you see the appearance of Kaligundil, this creature stands up and grunts. His mouth opened wide. Its teeth and fangs look big and spiky.

Preceded with a great roar and vibrated the white room then jumped the beast. Both legs are stretched out to the face, sharp and long nails are ready to tear the body of Kaligundil.

Kaligundil who understood that the tiger was not an ordinary animal but the pet of a magician, quickly jumped to the side avoid himself. But even so fast, the tiger was even faster. Like a seasoned martial arts master, still floating in the air the beast swiveled its body, its tail twinkling. The long tail like a whip hit the shoulders of the stumped Caligundil. Clothes ripped. His shoulder hurt unnoticed.

Kaligun was deployed in the power and at that time was forced to immediately jump to the side because the strip had attacked him again. Only by flickering quickly and swiftly, then Kaligundil managed to avoid every attack. He was counting, until then he had fought twenty moves against the tiger. And during that time Kaligundil continued to act evasive, completely unwilling to attack. If he dodged it, at some point it was possible that the tiger had also managed to rip apart his flesh. If he fights, while the animal is the pet of the magician with whom he wants to meet and talk. This is what makes Kaligundil difficult.

And while he fought in such a way, the meditated person still continued to meditate, as if uninterrupted, as if he had not known of the terrible battle. The only way for Kaligundil not to get hurt and not to hurt is to leave the white room, avoid going out for a while, waiting until the meditating person finishes his meditation.

So when the tiger roared and attacked, Kaligundil dropped to the floor and then rolled towards the stairs. By the time the tiger was about to smash into him once more. Kaligundil has vanished down the stairs.

*****

It had been three days for Kaligundil to wait at the bottom of the crater. Three times he had entered into the white room and lurked from behind the top rungs, but until then the person who meditated had still not left the supply stone. Waiting for a week for Kaligundil is nothing, but what troubles him is to get groceries during those waiting days.

Four days later, on the seventh time Kaligundil lurked from behind the steps, the man saw him still meditating. With an upset heart Kaligundil went down the stairs back. But as soon as he came out of the hall and reached the lower room, a voice suddenly echoed from the white space.

“Brave humans set foot dirty where I quickly come face to face to receive punishment”.

Kaligundil gasp heard this. “Come quickly! Wait what else?!”, said a voice from the white room.

Kaligundil turned his steps back. In stepping back into the hall of the stairs, another voice sounded. “Hemm. Your penalty double fold hi man”.

Of course Kaligundil was surprised to hear this. How could the person in the white room know that his body was deformed ? Although he is amazing but they have never met face to face and it is impossible according to the mind of Kaligundil that person knows about his condition.

Kaligundil forgot that the walls and ceiling of the white room above are like glass so that people in the white room will easily see anyone in the basement.

Kaligundil jumped up with a light movement and then climbed the stairs. When he appeared in the white room strangely the lying tiger no longer attacked him. While the man is slashed with white cloth still standing with his head on a foot stone upwards. As in previous days his face was still covered by a long stretch of white beard. Although the three-striped tiger did not attack him, Kaligundil stood on guard.

“Who are you?!”, snapping the head down the leg up.

“My name is Kaligundil. Am I currently dealing with Begawan Sitaraga?”, asked Kaligundil after explaining he had a name.

The one asked did not answer but asked the question: “It needs to do you come to pollute my place, dumbfounded hand man?!”.

“Hope to be forgiven if my arrival litters your place. But verily I do not mean so”, said Kaligundil anyway. “I..”

“Already! Don't snitch either! Step closer to receive your punishment”.

Instead Kaligundil stopped the steps. He noticed the man standing on the stone.

“Step closer!”, snapped the man. His voice echoed in the white room while the tiger beside him growled no less fiercely.

“German..”. Kaligundil decided his sentence.

The left foot of the man before him saw him moving. A series of very heavy winds struck towards Kaligundil. The room was shaking. With a somersault as fast as he could do Kaligundil managed to avoid the devastating attack. There was a sound of clucking.

“Befit... deserve you dare petatang peteteng come here to make my place dirty. Apparently you have a reliable science too. I want to see if you can also defend yourself with this steel footstroke?!”.

The head on the rock turned. Both feet moving.

Knowing that he was about to be attacked again with a long-range kick that was more powerful than before, Kaligundil quickly preceded exclaiming. “Gunters! Hold it! I came to bring news for you”.

By this loud speech, the person stops his intention to send an attack:

“I don't know you. What news did you bring?! Quickly say!”, hardiknya. He was still standing, with his head down his legs as before.

“This news is bad news Begawan.”

“Damn it! Bad or good quick say! Don't spend my patience monkey plinth!”

Kaligundil was basically very unhappy to hear such swear words. But he answered too. “Your thick friend Mahesa Jenar met her death at the hands of a human bastard.”

The body on the rock seemed to move and knew that the man was now upright with both feet on the rock. So now it appears that his face has since been covered by a long white beard. His skin was as pale as no blood. His cheeks were sunken and his eye sockets were even more sunken making his face haunted once to be looked at. His hair was long white to the shoulders while his beard stretched to the stomach.

Kaligundil menjura saluted. “So right now I'm dealing with Begawan Sitaraga.?” tanyakanya.

The pale face did not take care of the question. “Who killed him and from where can you know?!”

Kaligundil immediately open his mouth give a description. “Mahesa Jenar and several dukes led a number of soldiers to fight Pajajaran. But they lost. All dukes met their end. Mahesa Jenar herself killed at the hands of a powerful young man “

So the wrinkles appear on the face of Begawan Sitaraga which makes his face become more haunted. Both of his eyes narrowed, his gaze as sharp as a sword eye. The plan to fight Pajajaran indeed he had known for a long time even as his negotiations with Mahesa Jenar, he himself had promised to intervene to help Mahesa Jenar's rebellion, because it was a long time ago he had a grudge against the Pajajaran palace family. At the top of Mount Halimun he was just waiting for news from Mahesa Jenar when the attack was carried out. But today came someone who brought news that the rebellion had failed and Mahesa Jenar himself met death. Of course this is unbelievable.

“I can't believe you got a talk, dumbfounded hand man!!”, snapped Begawan Sitaraga.

“You're who..”

“Kaligundil”.

“What relationship do you have with Mahesa Jenar?”.

“She is my leader and thick buddy since yearly, Begawan.”

“Good! But I don't know if it's true or not. Answer my question to prove the truth of your testimony! What is Mahesa Jenar's real name..?”.

Kaligundil laughs. “You keliwat do not believe in its own party, Begawan..”.

“Who admits you're on my side...? You look ugly even this time I see”.

Kaligundil grumbled in his heart.

“Come answer my question! What is Mahesa Jenar's real name?!”.

“Suranyawa”, Kaligundil replied.

“Hem...” Sitaraga muses, “Mahesa Jenar is a high-headed man. It's not that easy to take his life.”

“Outside the sky there is another sky Begawan. His peer youth's devotion exceeded his.”

Begawan Sitaraga frowning. And Kaligundil continued his words. “I myself have faced it. Still good only my hands are asked, not my life”.

“Ho-o... So you mean to come here to complain and whine like a little boy in order for me to intervene..?”.

Red face Kaligundil. “It's up to you Begawan. As the friend of my former leader, I have been looking for the young man who killed Mahesa Jenar. But he is higher in silatnya and higher..”.

“Who's that son of a bitch's name?!” cut Sitaraga anyway.

“Rangga Geblk's. But he is better known by the nickname Swordsman of the Heavenly Dragon Death Trident.”

Hearing this, Begawan Sitaraga surprised. “You said he was the Swordsman of the Heavenly Dragon Death Trident.?”.

“Ya..”

“Then she is the wrinkled granny of Ratih Parwati!”.

“No.. he is a young man. Still very young, even looks like a child, long-haired and slanted brained crazy”.

Sitaraga mused again. Then his sizzle: “Then it is possible that he was a student of the grandmothers who stayed at the top of Mount Ciremai. But as far as I know Ratih Parwati has no students since decades ago.” Sitaraga take a deep breath. “If he is a disciple of Ratih Parwati, it is not wrong Mahesa Jenar was defeated..”

Sitaraga looked as far in the face as his vision was about to pierce through the white wall behind Kaligundil. Seeing this then Kaligundil began to insert his incitement needle.

“When I fought with him in Rawasumpang, I warned that later Mahesa Jenar's friends consisting of the main silat figures would intervene to demand revenge. And Rangga Geblek said that against anyone he was not afraid. Even he challenged to make calculations at the top of Mount Tangkuban Perahu on the thirteen day of the twelve months later”.

Begawan Sitaraga's eyes narrowed again. “Pongah right”, hissed. “The cup has cooled quickly to feel the darkness of the grave. Already quickly want to move to hell”.

“Betul Begawan's. Not only is his arrogance painful, but the challenge is also very insulting and does not look one eye at the main silat figures like Begawan”.

Mangosteen citaraga. “Such humans must be eliminated quickly. Otherwise it will be the culprit of the group and flow we”.

Kaligundil's heart became happy because it knew his incitement had been tanning and fomenting Begawan's revenge and anger.

“That challenge...,” said Kaligundil also continued his incitement, “as well as insulting the teacher Mahesa Jenar who was silent in Mount Lawu. I intend to meet him and ask what steps we will soon implement”.

“If only to break the batok head of the sedeng youth, I myself also supported him”.

“Betul Begawan's. But in order not to disappoint the teacher Mahesa Jenar later on, it is worth the death of his student was told”

“ltu your business,” Sitaraga replied. His eyes looked right at Kaligundil's waist. Indeed, since then his eyes were watching silently to the waist of Kaligundil.

“Try me to see what you keep behind your waist”, he said suddenly.

Kaligundil was shocked. He glanced at his waist. He had kept his weapon well but Sitaraga's sharp eyes were still able to figure it out.

“Ah, no nothing Begawan. Only..”

“What's free?!” Sitaraga bulking eyes.

“Just a bad sword..” Kaligundil said.

“Exit”

“German...”

“Don't say much. Eject!”

If it is not faced with Begawan Sitaraga and if it does not remember the grand plan, then surely at that time Kaligundil will beset the human mouth in front of him. He did expect Sitaraga's help but if he was considered trivial continuously and insulted to be scolded and yelled at, who can be patient?.

“You defied Kaligundil?!”

Curious once Kaligundil pulled out his Demon Sword. Then a blue light flashed in the white room.

Begawan Sitaraga surprised. “Blue Demon Sword..”, hiss.

He was surprised at the side and surprised to see that the magic sword was now just a mere fortune. “Where did you get that gun? How can it be stumped? Are you his disciple of the Blue Demon?!”

Kaligundil grinned at the grimacing questions. “That's all my business Begawan. What is important today is that we have met and you have known the fate of Mahesa Jenar. See you at the top of Mount Tangkuban Perahu”.

Kaligundil flashed towards the stairs. “Wait!” shouting Sitaraga.

But Kaligundil won't care. Then get angry Begawan Sitaraga. “If you don't think you're a former member of Mahesa Jenar's men, it's too fitting for me to ask for your life, Kaligundil. But right now it's enough you leave one of your earlobes”.

A secret weapon shot towards Kaligundil's right ear. This man immediately waved his left hand. But the wretched secret weapon can not be made mentally with a blow of deep energy. Kaligundil had to pull his magic sword back. But this move is of course too late. Kaligundil complained of pain. Blood soaked his cheeks and shoulders. The leaves of his right ear were struck by the secret weapon Sitaraga. If you do not remember the plan of revenge, Kaligundil will attack Begawan with a flurry, especially when he heard the oddity of Sitaraga that pierced his ear canal.

In a short time Kaligundil has been outside the crater of Mount Halimun. Cleansing the blood that soaks the cheeks then with a cloth wrapped his head right on the boundaries of the ears are muffled. Then a pill is taken and swallowed to reject the poison Sitaraga's secret weapon.

At the bottom of the crater of Mount Halimun, shortly after Kaligundil vanished, Sitaraga pondered again. Who Kaligundil really is is still a bit vague to him. But it's not that important. The big question mark is who is the young man who holds the title Swordsman Trident of the Heavenly Dragon Death ? Is it really Ratih Parwati's student ? If Kaligundil had faced it with the Demon Sword and was defeated by the young man, then it can be explored by Sitaraga to where the height of the knowledge of the Death Trident Swordsman. This made him want to quickly face the young swordsman. But he had to wait a few months in advance until the appointed day of the thirteen twelve months.
