Kirana stood up and rushed out of her room. He told his assistant that he would be back soon. Susan smiled as she nodded her head. He went to the top floor using the elevator. As he approached Miles' room, his assistant stood up and smiled at him. Kirana frowned. Uh. Sure oes. Miles knew he was coming.
The woman opened the door of the main director's room for him. The man was sitting leaning back in his chair while looking at him with a smile adorning his face. The door closed, Kirana waited for a while before walking closer to Miles' desk, ready to explode.
“What do you mean take me along on an official trip to Singapore? I'm just head of marketing. You should have brought Kemala. I'm not your assistant.” protest Kirana.
“It wasn't a business trip, Kirana. Read the email sent by my assistant. It was a two-day international marketing seminar. The vice marketing director is busy. Of course it's more appropriate if I take you than Kemala.” Miles raised both eyebrows. “I was actually intending to bring her too, but she was pregnant. Don't you know that? Her husband won't allow me to take his wife overseas.”
Kirana approached the door and locked it. Further talks should not be interrupted or heard by anyone. He took a deep breath and then put on a serious facial expression. When he turned around, Miles still smiled so cheerfully.
“Throw away that annoying smile of yours.” Kirana said so annoyed. The man laughed out loud.
“Oh. Where was the formal conversation? You suddenly speak disrespectfully to your own superiors?” miles Goda. Kirana groaned furiously.
“Please fire me if you want. That's what I want.” challenge Kirana.
“Or you can give me your resignation letter.” Goda Miles. One corner of his lips lifted up. Kirana frowned. He crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“And let you win? No will.” As Miles' eyes looked towards his chest, Kirana followed his eyes and looked towards his chest which looked bigger as his crossed hands in front of him made that part of his body lift up. Quickly he opened his hands and placed them on both sides of his body. He clenched his hand holding in anger.
“Ck, what a pity.” complained Miles when his eyes looked towards that chest. Kirana opened her mouth. “Then, I will gladly let you win, sweetheart. You know I'll always do that. If you resign, I will not ask you to pay the penalty on the contract.” Miles blinked one eye.
“Stop calling me that name. I don't like it.” Kirana's voice is rising.
“Therefore I keep saying it, sweetheart.” he said casually. Kirana really wanted to approach him and wipe that smile off her face. But she was afraid that the man would touch and kiss her here right now. He was angry and he just wanted to be angry for now.
“Listen, if you think by taking me to Singapore, then what happened between us will be repeated again, you are wrong. I won't sleep with you anymore” Kirana said spontaneously.
“I have no plans to do that. You said that yourself, not me.” Miles gave him a stack of papers. Kirana accepted it reluctantly. “It was your booked hotel room and your plane ticket. Our room is two floors different, so you don't have to worry about that. I got a first-class flight, you're in second-class. So, don't be afraid, I won't be able to trap you with my charm there. We'll be there for three days. Bring enough clothes.”
“The seminar is only two days, why are we there for three days?”
“Because we will leave on Friday afternoon and go home on Sunday afternoon after the seminar.”
Kirana grumbled during her way to daycare. Three days. Where could he get a child guard who was willing to stay for two nights? He had no parents, relatives, or friends nearby. How could he trust his son to a stranger? If he'd taken her along, Miles would've known right away that William was his son.
William had not lived with anyone else for a single night since he was born. And he's gonna be gone for two nights? How to persuade a child who has not turned five years old to understand the meaning of outside service and should not bring it along? He had never gone anywhere without taking his son. His head suddenly hurt thinking about it. And all because of the arrogant man who is a manager who unfortunately is his own boss.
“Mommy!” william cheered when he saw his mother standing in the doorway. He quickly tidied up his toys, picked up his bag, then ran up to Kirana.
“Are you having fun today?” kirana asked while hugging her son.
“Iya. I'm putting together two puzzles, Mom. And,” report it cheerfully.
“Shortly. Continue the story on the bus. I need to talk to Miss Helen.” cut Kirana. He turned his head towards the young girl standing by his side. “Thank you for today, Helen.”
“Sama-sama, Bu.” said Helen politely.
“Hm. Can I ask for help?” Kirana lets William run towards the playground.
“What can I help you with?” tanyakanya. Kirana thought about it again, still she had to do this.
“Begini, on this Friday I have to make a business trip abroad. I'm coming home on Sunday night. Is there anyone you know who can stay overnight on Friday and Saturday to look after Will?”
“If Mom wants, I can.” Helen offered herself. Kirana smiled happily.
“Really?” Kirana looked at him expectantly. The girl nodded. “Oh. Mercifully. Thank ye. Will knows you. It will not be difficult for him to adjust.” said Kirana relieved. He saw his son playing. Not far from him. “I'll take him here as usual on Friday afternoon. You just take him home once you're done with work. On Saturdays also just bring him here during your work hours. I'll give you the details of your address and emergency number tomorrow. Also anything that becomes a habit Will.”
“Good, Ma.” said Helen cheerfully.
“Thank you very much, Helen.”
One problem is done. Kirana breathed a sigh of relief. Now there is one more thing left, talk to his son and give understanding to him. It would be her son's first two nights without her. The conversation will not be easy for both of them. He would refuse this official trip if William would not allow him to leave.
