Time To Save You!

Time To Save You!
I Didn't Kill Him!

Lucy Florist, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. April 19, 1872

People gathered, clustered in front of Lucy Florist's yard. Those who are more courageous stand in the front row, watching the body of someone who just yesterday they welcome his arrival on the main road. None of them thought, or imagined, that Paul Wilkins would be tragically killed the day after his arrival. Not only that, the fact that Paul was killed in front of a shop owned by his former lover named Lucy further distrusted them.

Who is Lucy?

The people who knew him in this city might be able to count fingers. Is it possible that the brilliant Paul Wilkins once made him a lover?

A police officer and a detective went down there. They recorded, observed, and photographed the condition of Paul's body along with the entire side of the discovery. His body was covered with blood from two shots to the chest and head, and one stab wound to the right abdomen. The killer is sadistic, not easily complacent, to completely finish the victim mercilessly until the last breath.

"How did you find him, Miss?" ask the detective, known as John, Lucy who is currently the only witness at the scene.

Lucy shook her head dramatically. "I don't know what happened before, Detective. I just closed the shop door, then heard the gunshots twice, followed by the sound of people falling."

"I was curious, and then I opened the door, and Paul was already unconscious there."

"Good." The detective records Lucy's statement multiple times in a small notebook. From then on his mind could not stop accusing, because the evidence available is very strong towards Lucy. The girl was even still wearing a shabby ivory white dress with patches of blood, which was none other than Paul's blood.

The only reason John didn't drag Lucy into the police station right away was the girl's terrified expression. His mental state clearly still shows trauma. He was still crying, while his friend Emily kept calming.

"My other question is, why did you close the door of your store last night? Did you guys fight?"

"Yes, we had a fight."

"What is the cause of your quarrel?" John digs further as Lucy's cries subside.

"Personal issues."

"Yes, what personal matter? Are you angry that Paul Wilkins, who two years ago was still your lover, returned from Spain, suddenly came home and announced his marriage to Susan Davies yesterday?" guess John instantly, leaving Lucy speechless for a moment.

Oh, the wound is now mixed, making it worse.

"Yes..."

"Of course he was angry and they had a fight" one man continued. He emerged from the crowd, quickly taking a position on Lucy's right side, equipping Emily on the left side. The three are friendly. "You can't accuse him. Not enough evidence."

"What do you know about evidence? Even without a weapon in his hand, he was the only person on the scene, and he had a poor interaction with Paul before he died."

"I didn't do it! I didn't kill him!"

"Don't believe him, John!"

Everyone's attention was now on a woman who had just arrived with two men. His way of talking, walking, dressing, and himself who knew John had immediately shown his power.

Susan Davies, the woman stopped right in front of Lucy, pointing at her arrogant face. "You killed him?"

"No!"

Susan smiled obliquely, with her teary eyes full of sorrow. "Who killed him, hm? Tell me. You found it a second after the incident, didn't you? There's no way you don't see the culprit but it's yourself!"

"I didn't kill him!" lucy's jolt, made Susan clench her hands and jaw full of anger.

"John's..."

"Yes, Miss?"

"Yes! Punish him!"

"Yes! Just hang him!"

The crowd started cheering, voicing resentment, denouncing Lucy, demanding the two police officers issue a legal sentence. Meanwhile Lucy was confused, constantly sealing, refusing to confess because she did not do it.

"Lucy, did you see him? Shooter Paul? Try to think back," whispered Elric, grasping Lucy's trembling hand.

"Yes, Lucy. I wouldn't believe it if you did it" Emily added.

Lucy closed her eyes, remembering the incident last night while trying to control herself. There was something that he actually did not dare to express for fear of being called stupid and falsifying facts. However, the sound of the crowd and the mockery of Susan left her with no other choice. "I'm..."

"Shut up!" Elric silenced the irritating-sounding crowd in his ears. "Listen to him!"

"What do you want to say, Miss Lucy?"

"John, don't listen to him!" Susan demanded, but John remained in his objective position as a legal officer. "Tell me what you know from last night" he said.

Lucy sigh. "I saw someone. He was dressed all in black, wearing black gloves as well, and holding a gun. He was standing there not far from the store, but I couldn't see his face."

"Lied!" exclaim Susan.

"Yes, he must be lying!"

Lucy shakes. "I swear I saw the guy, but he disappeared so quickly, I couldn't recognize him."

"What's that figure doing there?"

"He's just standing, facing the shop."

"It's impossible you didn't see his face!" Susan returned to the. "Stop lying and admit your mistakes! Your motive is clear!"

"Miss Susan, relax. I'll take care of it at the police station. You can entrust it to me," John's wounds, asked the crying Susan to return to her place with her two bodyguards. "I don't want to know, John! Arrest the culprit! Death sentence him!" susan's message, it's sobbing before she leaves.

"Just calm. I'm gonna catch him. Paul's gonna get justice."

Susan then left, staring at Lucy all the way to the car. The rest of the crowd was full of sympathy for her, with the blasphemy that remained on Lucy even harsher.

"Can you prove the man you saw?" ask John.

"I don't know. I don't have any leads." Lucy pessimistic.

"Let him prove it, John. Emily and I are going to help her" Elric said.

John finally agreed. "good. I'll work with you too. However, if in three days that person is never found, then no one else can be a suspect other than you, Miss."

"It's not me, John! I swear!"

"Your oath will mean nothing if you don't find someone else who can take the place of the accusation, Miss."

Lucy and her two best friends were silent. Was difficult. This whole incident blamed Lucy, the girl was really unlucky.

"Follow us to the police station right now, you're not allowed to go anywhere without our permission, including to search for the man. Understood?"
