Chapter 23 Go to the border village

When the King returned to his pavilion to bathe and change clothes he met a specially commissioned bodyguard in the border village.

"Hail your majesty." said the bodyguard

"What's the matter, how's the development there?" Ask the King

"The better the noble, but it seems like your departure there can not be pushed back again, because previously it was already spread the news that you will directly meet the victims there, because, I'm afraid they're disappointed and consider the king a no-no." The guard explained

"All right, we're leaving now."

Finally the King left that morning, but before leaving he told his personal servant to deliver a message to the Queen of Orchids about his departure.

Along the way King Deon seemed silent and uninspired, he should have gone with Orchid and made this a date but in fact he went alone even leaving Orchid who was sick.

Arriving there, the King was well received by the residents and the volunteer healers who are still doing their duty.

The king saw their condition by going around the village. Until it was dark he chose to return to the resting place that had been provided.

"Hail your majesty." Physician

Deon just nodded and smiled amiably

"Oh my honor, thank you for the medicine that was delivered yesterday, it really helped us a lot." Say that doctor

"Sama-sama it has been my duty to protect my people even though I am sad because it is too late and has fallen many casualties." The king replied, he was a little disappointed in himself.

"Are there no irregularities about those suddenly rare medicines?" The doctor dared to ask

"Hemm, yes we are still investigating" the King replied briefly.

"May there be an answer, and if there is any fraud immediately revealed, then please noble pass by here.please rest." Say that doctor

The king nodded and went to his room, he felt tired, it felt like he wanted to quickly return to the palace to meet the Queen who was sick but it turned out that he needed a few days to stay in the border village.

The king lay flat on his back looking at the ceiling of his room he smiled

"Since when did I begin to think about it?, even now I miss it" muttered King Deon inwardly.

The next day, the King went around the village looking at the state of his people, suddenly someone hit his back from behind, a blow that did not hurt but a little disturbing and made the King curious.. when he turned around, he saw a little girl around the age of 8.

When the bodyguard wanted to take the little boy,

"Leave it..!" The King Deon's

The guard eventually withdrew.

"Why did my mother die, my father died, my brother also died.Why did you let him.The king is strong, said the king's father will always protect his people, but why did you let them go?" Say the little boy in tears and keep hitting King Deon.

The king was very sad about what happened, especially seeing their sadness here.

This little boy still needs the love of his parents.

The king rubbed the child's hair, then he crouched down and held the boy's hands together,

"I'm sorry. ." The king said softly then he hugged the boy with teary eyes

"Kimi, let's go home, baby..!" I heard someone calling the boy

Making King Deon let go of his embrace.

"I'm sorry your servant's nephew, he's just too sad." Uncle pulled his Kimi

"It's okay, Kimi.the sweet name." The king smiled 

"Get this child well..!" King Deon's Speech

"I will try to come here often to see you Kimi." said King Deon with a smile

"really?" Kimi was pleased

"Of course, you're a smart kid, be strong and stay strong..!" The king encouraged the boy even though he was feeling his guilt.

Kimi nodded, and was invited away by her uncle.

After their departure, the King felt sorry for giving them the drugs too late, now all he could do was provide food supplies to this village and frequent them… they're the victims whose families died.

King Deon returned to his inn and shut himself in there.

There was a noise outside, the King heard a loud object hitting the windows and walls of his room, he rushed to check it out.

"What's wrong?" The king asked the guard who was standing guard outside,

"This is your honor." The guard handed me something

It turned out that someone was terrorizing King Deon, the loud noise was coming from the stones that were deliberately thrown into his inn, but the stones were wrapped with paper tucked in a message inside.

"THE KING CANNOT PROTECT HIS PEOPLE"

"OUR FAMILY WOULD HAVE SURVIVED, IF THE KING HAD BEEN REALLY RESPONSIBLE"

"DO YOU DESERVE TO BE KING?"

"LENGSER!! WE DON'T NEED A WEAK KING"

King Deon read one by one the message, he just read it with guilt, he was not angry at all.

The guard took a stone and read the message,

"your Majesty, should I arrest them?"

Ask the guard

"Leave it, they were just expressing their sadness and disappointment to me, I was just as sad as they were and just as disappointed as they were"

The king returned to his room, he walked in lethargy, he did not expect that he was now really down, feeling failed to become a King.

When morning arrived the King was getting ready to check and go around the village, he hid his sadness, he tried to smile and his dashing appearance he highlighted.

While traveling around the King saw different facial expressions, some people smiled kindly welcome him happily, some just looked down sad, sad, and not a few people who seem to dislike his presence seem to blame him for this disaster.

The king must remain patient, because indeed his position is very heavy to bear especially at a young age.

The king was a little surprised by what he saw now,

"LENGSER IS, IF NOT ABLE TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE"

Many citizens prevented the King from passing through their village, they protested against his arrival.

"Gosh, what's wrong with them? What exactly is going on? I was at a loss to face them, did anyone provoke them?." King Deon thought about it for a moment

"Actually I understand their disappointment, understand their sadness, but they don't even know my true state of heart is the same as theirs, but it's a little weird why they suddenly like this? I have to investigate..!" King Deon murmured in his heart

Not wanting to make the atmosphere even hotter, King Deon returned to the inn to discuss the matter with his confidants, he was sure that something was not right.
