TRAGEDY AUGUST 13 '98
SECTION 116

“My father has always been like that. He always shows up if he needs something and just leaves if he gets into trouble.”

“She stayed with me in the apartment just because she needed something she needed. He used to leave a bracelet to me before he went to jail.”

“If you're sure you won't regret it, then just leave your father. Don't you ever see her again, if it gets you in trouble. You have the right to do such a thing.”

The shop was quiet for a moment. Just the sound of customers hunting for food from all the way up street food. Anna was still silent thinking about Zaid's words.

“If you still can't afford to leave your father, then you're good enough for him.”

Anna took a long breath. His topokki portion is almost gone. He took a drink of soju and downed it sloki per sloki.

“Actually the bracelet ..... I put my father's bracelet near the grave of my late grandfather.”

Nice work! Zaid got the information straight from Anna's mouth. Now he just moves to Anna's sister's grave and takes the bracelet.

Zaid didn't think he'd get what he wanted so soon. He can move and complete his mission quickly.

“Even when my grandfather died, my father did not care and instead ran away. Then I put it together in my Grandpa.”

“I'm sure he can find the bracelet, if he's already aware of all his bad deeds. He will visit grandfather's grave if he is already aware of it.”

“However, I'm sure he won't be conscious. Whenever it is. He'll never find the old bracelet he wants. Never will be.”

The day starts in the afternoon. One bottle had been spent by himself back then. Anna was really stressed by her father's behavior.

“Now, I'll leave you, Anna. I'm sorry,” Inner Zaid.

His farewell this time may not be as dramatic as his farewell to Alice in Italy, but, this time, his farewell may be more memorable.

Zaid had to meet and interact with many people while completing his mission in his own country.

“I have something for you, Anna.” Zaid took out a round gold coin. “This is a good luck charm. You'll always get lucky if you bring this thing.”

“Ah, really? Are you kidding me?” Anna received the coin and looked at it for a moment. “Alright, I'll bring this talisman.” Anna smiled, then put the coin into her pocket.

***

That night at Zaid's base. It looks like he just came back after a long day outside. That night he had also obtained a bracelet that had been his main mission.

After driving Anna this afternoon, Zaid went straight to the grave of Sister Anna to retrieve the bracelet. Now, the bracelet was already within his grasp.

He threw the bracelet at the Emir who was sitting staring at his monitor screen.

“Wah, I never thought you'd get that bracelet so soon.” mir exclaimed in excitement. Seeing Zaid being able to get the bracelet.

Zaid only snorted, then sat on the sofa and daydreamed for a moment.

“What's wrong with you? Are you sick? Why is your face like that? You don't look like you always do.”  The emir approached. Sit next to Zaid.

“Looks like, that bracelet was my last mission. I can only help you until this moment. Because I want to resign from this mission.”

Silent room. The emir wondered. Why would Zaid want to come out and continue to persuade him to keep him on completing that mission.

But what can I do. Zaid suda's decision was unanimous. And certainly no one could hold Zaid back, if that was his decision.

Since one month ago, Zaid often contemplated and aloof. He always wondered what his purpose in life was. And this is according to him the right time to determine his identity.

He might disappear, take a long journey in search of his identity. Perhaps finding a spiritual teacher would help him to guide her.

Zaid wants to be free. Regardless of all ties. Living alone. Stand firmly on his own feet. Without any agency or party driving it.

Just like when he was discharged from the military a few years ago. He wanted to be an ordinary civilian, living a normal life without any side deterring him.

A grown man who has decided and chosen his own way of life.

And that's the end of Zaid's story.
