Ch. 60 ~ Nostalgia

Chen Li woke up in a vacuum. There is no life in that place.

"Where is this?" Chen Li held onto his aching head.

His eyes are directed around. It looked dark, there was not a single speck of light that he could see.

In a moment, such a bright light suddenly emerged from the void. It was so bright that Chen Li was forced to protect his eyesight using an arm.

From that dazzling light, there were silhouettes of two male and female figures. Chen Li peeked in between his fingers, noticing the two figures.

Even so, he could not see their faces clearly.

"Son!"

The figure voiced with a bahana that was so echoed in that place.

For a moment, Chen Li gasped at the call from the figure.

"Son? What the hell does that mean. Was the call directed at me?" Chen Li wondered inwardly.

"Son... I didn't think we'd be leaving you for a few years, now you've become such a powerful figure."

The two figures moved closer to Chen Li. It was then that Chen Li could see the faces of those two people. The man's face, his face like his.

"D-dad!" Chen Li gasped, "A-are you really a father?"

Chen Li looked in disbelief that this man standing beside him was his own father. Then he looked at the beautiful woman who was now also looking at him gently, while a sincere smile was engraved on her lips.

"I-mom? ... Is this just a dream?" Chen Li tried to pinch his cheek. And he still felt pain, indicating he was not dreaming.

"You're not dreaming, son! It's real... Now that mom and dad are back, and want to pick you up." The man who was none other than Chen Long was holding onto Chen Li's back. "Will you come with us?"

Chen Li looked at his father's face. For a long time he had long desired the figure of a father and mother by his side. When looking at children of his age who have a complete family, he also wants to feel the warmth of a family.

Sometimes he would be alone when Wan Li was busy hunting animals. Chen Li will be dissolved in nostalgia, which makes him dream of being next to his father and mother. He was hugged by his mother, then trained with his father in the sword.

But all of that is just a nostalgia that he never achieved in his life. Considering both of his parents had gone a long way leaving Chen Li.

This time, right in front of him. The two figures that he had been the most since childhood, were now standing tall before him. It could not be denied, how happy Chen Li was to see the face of the two.

"Good, Dad! I'll follow you!" chen Li said quickly. He didn't want to lose it a second time.

Chen Long and Lin Ra smiled sincerely at the earnestness of their son's heart.

Afterwards, they held onto Chen Li's hand, taking him flying towards the dazzling light. Until they disappear, swallow the light.

"Son! Nak Li, wake up. It's morning!" Chen Li felt his hands clapped by someone.

His eyes opened slowly. A dazzling light greeted his vision. The light came from the sunlight that managed to escape from the small hole in the thatched roof.

Chen Li looked around. A very simple house, yet somehow he felt so comfortable. Beside him, Chen Li saw a woman who was none other than his mother, was looking at him gently.

"I-mom? You're my mom, aren't you?" Chen Li asked, to the woman.

"Hey, why did you forget your own mother." Lin Ra said scowling.

Chen Li became confused by the circumstances he was facing. Wasn't he just in a vacuum, why was he even in this hut now?

"E-eh, I-I'm sorry Mom. Li was just kidding!"

Chen Li approached his mother.

"Here, don't think about it. Shower after breakfast."

"Ah, stupid ah. Most importantly mom and dad are fine."

Chen Li moved up, taking the towel that was beside him. Then go to the bathroom.

After bathing and changing his clothes, he went straight to the dinner table. There had been Chen Long and Lin Ra waiting for him.

Lin Ra took out a plate, then scooped up the rice and side dishes, then handed it to Chen Li.

"Eat a lot, son. So you can get big fast!"

"Thank you, Mom!"

Chen Li felt a little strange. His gaze was directed at his parents, who looked so greedy eating food. I don't know why he felt so comfortable looking at the faces of the two.

"Why are you quiet. Finish your food, before you eat the wind" Chen Long said.

"Well, Dad!"

Chen Li then also ate his food.

The days pass so quickly. That afternoon, Chen Li and his father and mother were sitting in bamboo halls on the terrace of the house. As usual they will tell stories while enjoying the afternoon breeze that gently caresses their bodies.

Chen Li, who was dissolved in his father's fairy tale, suddenly caught the black smoke behind the tree trunk not far from them.

He immediately stood up. Look back at the tree trunk carefully.

"What's up, son?" asked Lin Ra who was a little surprised when he saw Chen Li who suddenly stood up.

Turning his gaze towards his mother, Chen Li then said, "No Ma'am!" Back Chen Li sat down, leaning his back on the boardroom of the house.

His mind drifted out of nowhere.

"I'm sure it was black smoke. But what does that black smoke mean?" Chen Li began to feel strange things.

He turned his gaze to Chen Long and Lin Ra. Nothing is strange. Everything seems normal.

"Have I forgotten something?"

Chen Li held onto his chin, trying to remember what he had missed. But no matter how hard he tried to remember, still nothing he remembered.

"What's up, son?" asked Lin Ra back.

Chen Li looked at his mother's face. "Nothing!" Chen Li replied while shaking his head.

A few moments in tranquility, suddenly their house shook violently. Soon the three jumped onto the field, afraid that the house made of wood would collapse.

"What's going on?"

The ground where they stood suddenly caused a rift. As time went on, the vibrations grew louder. Cracks on the ground are also growing, causing a gap in the form of a deep gorge.

Chen Long and Lin Ra could not balance their bodies, so they both fell into the abyss. Luckily Chen Li reacted quickly by pulling on Chen Long's arm, which at that moment was also holding Lin Ra's hand.

On the brink, Chen Li tried his hardest to pull Chen Long, out of the abyss.

"Have I forgotten something?" the question came back to his mind.

Chen Li looked at Chen Long who then did not stop asking for his help. While Lin Ra looked so scared down there.

Seeing that Chen Li became unbearable. He tried to pull Chen Huang's hand back. But again the question appeared in his mind, making Chen Li's mind feel chaotic.
