Flashback 10 years ago.
He was born with a disability, blind and unwanted birth. Aizhe, 12, was nursed and raised in infancy by her grandmother, Evelin. We lived in that apartment for a long time. At first, Aizhe and Evelin's relationship was fine, but due to the bad insults from the neighbors about Aizhe, Evelin felt hurt.
Already living destitute, now the mouth of the neighbors muddy his condition, until Evelin can not stand it anymore. He did not avenge them, but took them to little Aizhe.
"Grandma, Aizhe's home." The blind girl entered, carrying a piece of paper in her palm. He touched the wall and searched for Evelin.
"Where have you been, Aizhe?" Evelin who cleared the contents of the table, asked expressionlessly. Because it was useless, the blind girl still could not see it. But luckily, Aizhe need not be afraid of Evelin's wrinkled and creepy face.
"From the ground, Grandma. Aizhe was told by the neighbors to dig up the money embedded under a tree. After that, Aizhe was given this money. Now, we can buy rice, Grandma. No need to eat boiled yams again tonight." Aizhe drew closer to Evelin's voice, extending her hand.
Evelin took a wooden stick.
Seeing Aizhe's dirty nails and the smell of the soil, made her growled.
"Sir, why silence?" Aizhe began to feel anxious.
"Aizhe!!" Evelin snapped loudly, making him fall in fear.
"Again, Grandma. Aizhe, I'm sorry." Not yet hearing the reason why Evelin was angry, Aizhe had already begged and cried there.
"Basic stupid! You idiot! Look at this carefully, the money you brought is toy money! They're just playing you, Aizhe!" Apparently, Evelin was furious because Aizhe was used by others.
"But they say it's money that can buy rice, Grandma" isak Aizhe. It's wrong, but Aizhe hopes to ease Evelin's burden by making his own money, but all he gets is insults and tricks.
"Hiks, forgive Aizhe, Grandma don't be mad." Aizhe pleaded, kowtowed and banged her head against the carpet. Really apologizing. Evelin lowered her hand, but saw Aizhe's beautiful face being flooded with tears, making her hit her leg straight away.
"Akh, geez, Grandma!"
"Yepi." Aizhe screamed in pain receiving the pain from the wooden stick that hit both of her calves.
"Grandmother, Aizhe please," said Aizhe. Evelin advanced, hugging his trembling little body. "I'm sorry, Grandma, Aizhe." Begging for forgiveness after hitting his granddaughter's leg. That easy?
Aizhe nodded, unable to get angry because if he retorted, Evelin could just throw it out there.
Now that Aizhe had taken a bath and smeared her feet with medicine, the blind girl came out of her room. Walk slowly while stroking his hungry stomach. "Mr," call Aizhe slowly. But no one answered.
"Hm, maybe Grandma's asleep." Aizhe fingered the wall, looking for the kitchen. After entering, he looked for a pot and wished there was a sweet potato to eat.
"Hm, empty? Finished up?" Aizhe was confused, because during the day, there was still the rest of the boiled yam. Aizhe moved on, looking on, but there was nothing. Too bad, if only he could see, he could already find the yam inside the bushel hanging above.
"Uhh, I'll just drink." Aizhe held back her hunger, and went to look for a flask. But it was empty, too. "Hm, is it possible that Grandma forgot to cook water?" muttered Aizhe, go check another flask. It is the same as empty. "Uhh, Aizhe's hungry, Grandma." Aizhe complained, squatting down and pressing down on her stomach firmly. Again, the existing water, already stored by Evelin as well. The old woman stood by the door and made no sound. He observes Aizhe and deliberately keeps all of it.
Aizhe flinched, as her hand held onto a leaf. Aizhe took it and smelled it it smelled of cassava. Aizhe was silent, thinking of something. Evelin was slightly surprised, seeing the little girl devouring her raw leaves. Aizhe who was very hungry, ate the leaf greedily. Evelin came forward, wanting to scold her, but instantly retreated and turned around with a wry smile, not with an expression of pity.
The next morning and the next two days, Aizhe continued like that because Evelin deliberately left her in the apartment. Aizhe ate raw vegetables and drank shellfish water because the gas canisters ran out so he could not cook hot water.
Even so, Aizhe took a bath, brushed her teeth regularly and still took care of her appearance. Combing her own hair, sweeping and mopping her own. It's just that, to eat, he relies only on stinky vegetables and sink water. If all is done, he will fast until Evelin comes home. Life feels the rigors of destiny, has Aizhe gone through with his own strength.
Evelin came home on the seventeenth day, bringing some of his working money out there. "Welcome, Grandma." Aizhe stood up, welcoming Evelin with her sweet smile. Evelin was silent, seeing that the girl was still alive.
"Aizhe, how are you here?" tanya Evelin approached.
"Good, Grandma." Aizhe answered quickly. Evelin smiled wryly, amused at hearing that.
"Hm, what's this smell, Grandma? Why does it smell like blood?" aizhe asked sitting nearby.
Evelin pulled his bag and stood up. "Aizhe, Grandma works as a surgeon, so the smell of blood is common from here. Now take this and eat it" said Evelin, giving him a bowl of soto.
"Well, what is this meat, Grandma?" aizhe asked smiling happily. He who has fasted for five days can finally eat well. "Horse meat." Evelin also left Aizhe who began to taste the soto. He entered the room, smiling wryly.
