Two months later.
In the big house of Jakarta, his mother Amir came to the housekeeper who was in the kitchen. With a bright face, he approached the middle-aged woman.
"Bi, if you make a four-month salute, what do you need, huh? I don't know the problem" whispered her mother Amir as she glanced to the right and left worried that Melina would eavesdrop.
"Whose four months do you want, Mom?" the assistant asked confusedly.
The woman scowled unhappily, clucking while glaring in annoyance.
"Yes, my daughter-in-law, dong. Who do you think you are anymore? You have, don't you, grandchildren. So, you must know what to prepare. I will give you the money, yes. You're the one who bought it" said Amir's mother a little upset.
The assistant was pensive, thinking about Melina who did not look like a pregnant person. Her stomach remained flat, not enlarged like most pregnant people.
"Well, you're ready for everything, yeah." He patted the assistant's hand and left.
"Eh, Mum. Is Non Meli pregnant? I see, really, not like most pregnant women, yes. Ordinary like that, his stomach is also so not so big," said the assistant ventured to reveal the contents of his mind.
The middle-aged woman was stunned, returning to approach the assistant. Hearing that he also realized the awkwardness on Melina's body.
"You really, I just realized. I will try to ask him later. Is she really pregnant or just pretending?" whispered his mother Amir who was taken by the assistant.
"Keep, so shopping isn't Mom?" ask the assistant to make sure.
"Later you wait for news from me, yes," he replied as he left the kitchen.
He sat in the living room, waiting for Melina to go somewhere. Every day there was nothing he did but go out and walk in the salon. Spending the money that Amir gave her every month.
"Where else is Melina? What is he really doing out there? Almost every day out and not clear to go home. Amir does not feel at home, not like the same time Mayang first. Amir rarely buys food from the outside." He began to complain, began to compare the life of Amir when with Mayang then and now.
Very much different, his appearance well groomed, his stomach awake. Honey, she can't get pregnant. Therefore, his mother Amir sent Melina as his personal secretary. With a deal they agreed. That is, Melina could be pregnant with Amir's child.
"Amir is rarely at home now, where does she sleep? Did he have another wife, huh?" he began to think about the child.
Until noon arrived, Melina's figure was never seen. Amir's mother grew tired of waiting, clucking a few times with rage.
"Bad brat Melina! Where, anyway, is he? Sampe this hour has not come home yet, too" his grunts as he gazes at the wall clock that shows fourteen o'clock during the day.
Half a day was his proud daughter-in-law gone, without telling her purpose, without the timeliness of going home.
"Why can't he stay home? Not like the Mayang. Out only to school or most invited Amir to play. Duh, I feel sorry for it," he complained to himself.
In the past, she was cool in insulting Mayang for not getting pregnant, but the woman never returned her insults. Unlike Melina, when advised she would be angry.
Before long, the sound of the roar of a car roared in the courtyard. Amir's mother flinched, immediately rising to retrace the step of the son-in-law. He stood with his waist ruffled, staring at the figure of the woman who had just walked on the terrace with both hands filled with grocery bags.
"Where are you from?" ask Amir's mother while looking at Melina's body from top to bottom. His hands are full too.
Nothing changes at all though every day go to the salon to beautify yourself.
He continued the steps that had stopped due to reprimand from the mother-in-law.
"Hey, I'm still here! Play meow! Here, I want it to be the same as you," Amir's mother's hardship grew fierce.
Melina gulped nervously, not usually the mother-in-law was tough let alone hard on him. He turned around, and went back down the stairs to stop in front of the in-laws.
"'Can, I replied, Mom. What else do you want?" Melina lowered her shoulders lazily, she wanted to immediately try on the clothes she had just bought.
Amir's mother stepped increasingly eroding the distance between them. Melina gulped as her eyes fell on the two sharp beads in front.
Suddenly, Amir's mother's hand lifted and lightning-fast touched Melina's stomach. Amir's wife's mouth was gaping, her eyes were twitching in surprise. Didn't expect the beak woman in front of him would do such a thing all of a sudden.
Amir's mother looked up, looking at Melina with squeaking eyes. Slowly straightened up, without turning a gaze away from the pale face of the son-in-law.
"Why is your stomach still flat, Melina? Four months, it should have grown a little. What was? Are you trying to fool me?!" he pointed at his mother Amir loudly.
Melina shook her head in fear, her tongue unable to say anything. His eyes condensed, his breath hunting heavily. He's cornered, doesn't know what to do.
"Why are you diem? So right if all this time you were just pretending to be pregnant, huh? Basic cheater!" hardik's mother Amir could not accept.
Melina lowered her head, still shaking her confused head. Keep thinking what he has to say to defend himself.
"No-no, Mom. I'm not lying to Mom. The vow! I'm pregnant, Mom. Didn't you see the test results from the hospital at the time? There's no way I'd dare to lie to you," Melina said, suppressing the nervousness and fear that overwhelms the heart.
Amir's mother thought, Melina used to give test results from doctors, but she did not read carefully because she was so happy. Now, he had to look back at the test.
"Where? Where's the paper? I want to see it again, I want to read it again so I can be sure. Right here! Take it if there is," he said as he played a hand asking the son-in-law.
Melina bit her lip, forgot where the paper was put. Still thinking when the high voice of the in-law jerked his body.
"Where!"
Melina was stunned, suddenly her body was unable to move. He raised his face, staring with his lips trembling ferociously in-laws in front of him.
"A-there, Mom. It's in the room, I take it first" he said stuttering.
"Yes already. Go get it there! Watch out if you get caught!" fierce in-laws make Melina in the fog.
"D-yes."
Just turning around about to climb the stairs, another voice immediately stopped him.
"No need! The letter is here!"
Melina was stunned, her breathing suddenly stopped.
