When Your Uncle Becomes the Substitute Bride

When Your Uncle Becomes the Substitute Bride
Chapter 9. Fried Rice

All kitchen materials are already in the plastic that Daren carries, while the snacks, are in Dera plastic. The girl looked happy when she got what she wanted. At first Dera scolded because Daren pulled forcibly to leave the statue of the person he liked, but after being invited to the food place, Dera immediately smiled happily.

“Anyone you want to buy again?” daren asked when they were near the car.

“Bby? That's a lot, you know. Later Om money runs out,” said Dera. Although his intention was to prank Daren by draining his wallet, but when he saw the man's face, he did not have the heart.

“Why can't I? My money your money too,” reply Daren.

“Then I want to buy Boba ice, but on the roadside, yes. The one we passed wants to come here,” pinta Dera.

“Broadside? Why not just in the cafe.”

“I want it on the side of the road. Point.”

With a frown Dera got into the car first, leaving behind groceries that Daren would have put in the trunk of the car. The man only shook his head, although impressed by the children, but he was even funny with Dera's attitude.

As soon as Daren loaded all the items, after which he chose to enter the car as well. Not forgetting to put a seat belt, the car began to steer him at medium speed. Defending the streets are quite crowded because of the hours of home office.

Along the way Dera continued to pay attention to every roadside, looking for the Boba ice cart he had met earlier. When he finds out what he wants, Dera asks Daren to pull over his car.

“Let me go down. What do you want to taste?” Daren opened her seatbelt.

“Vanila and chocolate,” Dera replied.

“Good.”

Daren got out of the car to buy Dera's order. He again brought a plastic bag containing two cups of Boba ice belonging to his wife. The car drove back, splitting the road into houses.

When he got home, Dera immediately brought vegetables to the kitchen. It was her intention that the girl would compile all the vegetables she bought in the refrigerator, but the aunt came and forbade them.

“Let Aunty alone, Mistress,” said aunt stopped Dera's hand movements.

“No what, really, Bi. Let Dera aja,” reject Dera.

“Better Madam sit, anyways just come home too, must be tired,” said aunt. Not giving up.

Seeing the persistence of aunt, Dera finally nodded. He chose to sit in the dining chair, while looking at the aunt who was busy with vegetables. Dera took a glass and poured water from the teapot.

“What do you want to cook for dinner?” Aunt asked while looking at Dera.

“No need, Bi. Because tonight, Dera is going to cook for dinner,” said Dera.

“You can eat?”

The new Daren came from the room, sitting right next to Dera. The man took Dera's drinking glass, then gulped down the water in it to the toilet. Dera gawks at what Daren is doing, the girl shivers in horror when she realizes that Daren is drinking water with her used glass.

“Ish, so slovenly, anyway. Kayak, can't grab a glass yourself,” ketus Dera.

“Jorok why? Your ex, right?” ask Daren while thrusting his glass at Dera.

“Yes. Basic slob!”

“Not a slob, because that's my ex-wife. Except for former Auntie,” said Daren while blinking one eye.

Again Dera could only snort in annoyance. He chose to ignore Daren and focus on finding ingredients to cook. Apparently Daren followed him, observing every move of Dera.

“What do you want to cook?” ask Daren.

“Nasi fried squid,” replied Dera without looking at her interlocutor.

“How to cook, how?” Daren followed wherever Dera went.

The girl was irritated, because she kept being asked this and that.  “Mild. Stay fried rice continues to be given squid.”

“That's cooking as the name suggests, Dera,” said Daren while shaking his head.

Daren took one garlic, and he showed it to Dera. “Smash the seasoning first, or can cut into small pieces onion and chili. Saute until fragrant, then you put rice into the spice,” explained Daren.

“Ya, already. I was just telling you, because I thought you didn't know. It turns out to be more good than me,” Daren said with a small laugh.

“Mending Om sitting sweet, deh. Really onion!”

“Iya, yes. Former nephew candidate.”

The fried rice of the squid is already present on the table, the savory aroma is tickling Daren's sense of smell. He who took a drink in the refrigerator, turned to look at the food that Dera cooked. Instantly his stomach churned, as if worms were marching to be fed.

Directly Daren sat on one of the chairs, staring at Dera who went back and forth to put fruit and water. His wife was very painstaking.

“This, delicious, ‘kan?” ask Daren.

“Hmm.”

“Yakin? You don't want to poison me anymore, do you?” Daren raised his eyebrows.

“Yes, geez, just eat too. After all, if I poison this rice, I will die first. Because it was, right, I who cobain,” said Dera growled.

Daren chuckled at Dera's reaction. He quickly averted his eyes and started picking up dishes to fill with fried rice. When the mouthful went into his mouth, Daren was able to feel an overwhelming taste. The man did not want to stop chewing.

“Makanya don't trivialize me. Tau-taunya has run out,” said Dera while dropping his ass in the front seat Daren.

“Sorry.” One word came out of Daren's mouth. The man continued eating.

Two pitchers of fried rice were devoured by Daren, the man grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down to the toilet. Seeing that Dera was still eating, Daren did not leave.

“You look fine now, in contrast to the beginning of knowing about Pandu.” Daren opened his voice. Automaticly Dera stopped her eating, the girl's gaze was straight on Daren.

“What should I do? Prolonged sadness?” ask Dera.

“Yes. I think women would, if they were heartbroken. Moreover, two days before the wedding, sad news came to him,” lontar Daren.

Dera exhaled, freeing the back-coming tightness. “Initially it was. I was devastated, there was no spirit of life because it was as if God was playing tricks on me. But, circumstances made me think clearly. If he was a good man, surely he wouldn't do such a heinous thing.”

“What if he does that for a reason?”

“Whatever the reason, he did it anyway, didn't he? I don't want to throw away my tears anymore, for a guy like him,” Dera replied.

“You don't see directly what's happening, and it's possible that things aren't what you think.” is Daren reopened her voice.

“Om, why think like that? I've forgotten everything. I ... just don't want to feel pain anymore. These days, it's been a little colorful with Mother and Vera's support. I beg you, don't make me fall back,” said Dera.

Daren nodded steadily, the man gave a smile, albeit thin. “Sorry. And ... spirit, because I'm always by your side.”
