8. The Hidden.

Cyrene widened her eyes, shocked by Bernardo's sudden statement.

"Why did you suddenly say that?" ask Cyrene." If this is a joke, this is the worst joke I've ever heard" Cyrene said.

Bernardo stepped closer to Cyrene, stared fixedly at her eyes and smiled.

"I'm just saying the truth, saying what I feel" Bernardo said.

"T-t-but, how is that possible? We only know each other's names, and nothing more" Cyrene said.

"That goes for you, but not for me" Bernardo said.

" What do you mean?" ask Cyrene not to understand.

"It's not the right place to talk, Ren. Didn't we?" reply Bernardo while opening the door of the taxi car he ordered.

Cyrene entered, followed by Bernardo sitting next to her. Not to forget, Bernardo explained the details of the address to the driver who smiled kindly and nodded in understanding.

"Come in, and get some rest. Today is an exhausting day for you,!" pinta Bernardo when they have arrived at Cyrene's apartment.

"Wait,,,!" stop Cyrene while holding Bernardo's hand so he doesn't leave.

"You must explain the meaning of your words today" Cyrene said.

"Are you sure you want to hear it today?" asked Bernardo to make sure.

"Yes. I want to hear it. And I want to hear it all, too,!" please Cyrene.

"Your reason is to say the incident at the cafe is related to you, Theo who seems to have known me, and, and, and," Cyrene could not continue her sentence.

"Alright, I'll tell you everything" Bernardo replied calmly.

Cyrene asked Bernardo to sit on the sofa as they arrived on the floor of her apartment and prepare a cup of coffee for Bernardo and for herself.

"Gavin told me, when you arrived, the cafe door opened and broke in the keyhole section of the door. It was rough proof that they did it" Bernardo explained.

Cyrene sat on the fur carpet and leaned against the sofa with her hands hugging her knees. Bernardo sat next to him with one leg folded and his hands resting on his knees.

"Normally they won't be this reckless, and it makes me think this isn't them. But I don't know why I'm so sure this is what they did. And because of this I will investigate" Bernardo said.

"Will it be safe for you?" ask Cyrene to worry.

"No!" bernardo replied briefly.

"If so, don't do it!" cyrene Pinta.

"I can't let them bother you, Ren!" denying Bernardo.

"Why do you have to endanger yourself to a stranger like me?" cyrene Protest. " Don't do anything in vain" Cyrene warned. " How can it be? You answer that casually when you know it's dangerous for you?" continued.

"I told you I love you, didn't I?" Berardo reply. " One reason is enough for me to do it" said Bernardo kekeh at his stance.

"Impossible," Shall Cyrene.

"If calculated correctly, after our first meeting, it's not up to a week, how can that feeling grow in just a week's time?" continued.

Bernardo smiled gently and stared fixedly at Cyrene's eyes to lock onto her.

"Five years ago, you helped a man who was hit by a car and risked being made a suspect if he was unconscious. You take care of him until he gets better and leave when he really recovers" Bernardo said.

"How do you know that story?" welcome Cyrene in shock.

" Oh my god, so you're him?" cyrene screeched shut her mouth in surprise.

" I know you won't remember. But, I won't be able to forget you just like that" Bernardo said.

"But, I, I,,,!" Cyrene hung up her amulet, hinting at what she had to say.

"You don't have to pay it back, Ren! I just want you to know how I feel" Bernardo said.

"Me,," Cyrene nibbled at her lips feeling bad about Bernardo's kindness to her.

"Should I stop telling her?" bernardo's question distracted Cyrene.

"No, please continue. I want to know everything" Cyrene pinta.

"They are a group that robs others of luxury cars. Maybe it's more appropriate to call it stealing their cars because we take their cars more often when they're off guard. Then we will modify the car and sell it again at a high price" Bernardo said.

"Isn't that illegal?" cyrene did not believe it.

"Everything we do is not official business, but we've been doing this for years" Bernardo said. " Marijuana, liquor and other drugs are also our side businesses" he added.

"And you're always involved?" guess Cyrene.

"I was the one who modified all those cars, and I was also the one who was looking for the target" Bernardo said. "however, I was never involved if it was drug-related" he added.

"But why would you do it? You know it's wrong, right?" sergeant Cyrene.

"Because I'm just a puppet to them. It also made me choose a target only the rich people who don't care about their surroundings" Bernardo replied.

Bernardo smiled softly at Cyrene's statement. For the first time for him, his heart warmed up to the actions of someone who was directed at him. Although Cyrene does not love her, her heart is determined to protect her.

"There, as soon as all my debt to them is paid, I will be out of the group immediately" Benardo replied.

"have you planned that?" ask Cyrene.

"Well, I saved some of my money, so when I stopped working with them, I really wanted to get out of this city, and live my new life" Bernardo said.

"That's a very good idea" Cyrene said.

"I hope everything goes according to your plan" he continued.

"I expected the same thing" Bernardo replied.

"Do you have any idea what you're going to do in the new city?" ask Cyrene curiously.

"I always think about the car repair shop. Where people are not only to fix their broken cars, but can also modify their cars" Bernardo said.

"That's amazing, and it's perfect for you," said Cyrene.

"I just hope nothing bad will happen" Bernardo said.

"Even if something happens, I'm sure you can handle it" Cyrene said.

Bernardo smiled again and felt the tightness in his heart diminish just by seeing Cyrene smile and hearing her voice.

That night, Bernardo returns to guard Cyrene in her apartment. Back there, and want to make sure Cyrene stays safe.
