As Noah was about to turn around, Greg spoke again. "Noah, you don't have to pretend to be strong like that. I'm offering you compensation and you're looking for a job here. That's why you can't defend your own woman. You're so arrogant about your poverty, you don't know how much money makes so much difference between us."

Noah smiled because it was exactly as he expected. Greg won't just let go. Noah did not intend to leave and deliberately waited for a moment like this.

This, of course, makes Lucy more surprised. The girl knew this young man so well, that if Noah had even a little bit of luck, Lucy never once thought of leaving him.

Somehow Lucy felt to be the subject of competition between the two youths who had a way to boast in such a different way.

"No!  No, you can bring more. Just pick it." Greg replied a little forcefully.

Lucy was wrong. Of course he was happy if Greg was willing to buy anything for him, but somehow right now, he felt that if he did, then Noah would win something that would make him feel so low.

Lucy is very intelligent, but not used to these conditions. His awkwardness, directly known by Noah.
