Jason's phone is shaking. With his eyes still looking towards the two figures, who had just descended from the helicopter, Jason pressed the answer button on his phone.
"Yes, I know. They're already here."
"_____"
"They asked you to come here too?"
"______"
"OKAY. It's gonna be a fun reunion."
Jason closed his phone and turned to Lia.
"Replace your clothes semi-formally.'
Lia nodded in understanding. It is time to face the long-awaited figure. Sooner or later, ready or not, this day will come. The day Lia will face off against the Madison family's ruler.
Jason looked at his wife who was already starting to apply makeup. Without having to give a clue, it seems Lia can quickly learn the style of dressing as part of the Madison family. Laurent and Lady Laura, that's enough of an example.
"Remember, what happened I was your husband. And you've always been mine."
Jason's words were enough to give him constancy. Jason then knelt down and hugged Lia's waist, landing a kiss on the stomach. Then he pressed his cheek, until a knock on the door sounded.
"I know!" jason answered briefly, when he heard Butler Bernard's voice calling out his name.
Jason stood up and gently rubbed Lia's face. He landed a friendly kiss on those ripe lips. For a moment their lips clung to Jason's embrace.
"Jason ...." Lia pushed her husband's body as she felt the embrace tighter.
"I'm sorry" said Jason, who realized his embrace was too tight.
"I'm not scared, honey. As long as you don't let go of me, I'm not afraid" Lia said, staring at her husband.
Jason smiled at his wife. He saw the calm eyes of Lia's eyes. What Jason was afraid of, was not how Lia would deal with it. But ... if the old fox decides to hurt Lia.
"I knew. You're the best. Let's go down."
Hugging Lia, Jason walked out into the living room on the second floor.
There it was, Laura Madison sat cross-legged with a glass of wine in hand. While a middle-aged man who was still handsome and dashing, was standing while looking at the family potrer. The man who was none other than the great master Darrel Madison seemed to be holding a glass of brandy.
"Mom. Dad," said Jason, followed by Lia.
Laura's eyes turned towards Lia. So did big master Darrel Madison. The man turned his body and stared at them. The expression of the big master looked flat.
"I didn't expect you guys to come together" Jason said, staring at the parents in turn.
It's not without reason. Darrel and Laura have never been together, except at important events. They just show their misery in public. Even after arriving at the mansion, they stayed in different rooms. The marriage has been broken for a long time. Exactly because of what and when it happened, no one knew..
"You know why, don't you?!" Laura chimed in briefly.
"So, you're Lia?!" The question that the big master was asking seemed flat.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty-three." This time Lia answered.
"Twenty-three, law graduates, right? Girl with no clear background. It's lucky your background was broken with Andrew Knight as brother-in-law. Heh! If it wasn't for him, I would never have looked at you," said the great master scornfully.
"Thank you for watching me, Dad." Lia smiled sincerely and ventured to call the big master by the name of daddy. It was certainly astounding, but Lia was not surprised. Of course with Darrel Madison's power, he must have investigated Lia's status as well as her background.
"Done with Andrew Knight. She was my woman of choice. He also has his own status and wealth" Jason said.
"God! The wealth and position you prepared. Not on his own business." It was very clear Laura's tone of voice was scornful.
"You bought the girl with fifty boutiques and a hotel. It's pretty expensive, country girl!" Despite saying it casually, the sentence of the great master so slapped Lia's feelings.
"What about Camilla, how much of a self-worth did you buy?" Jason's innuendo made the face of the great master instantly blush, his hand clasping tightly to the glass in his hand.1
"I think the price is too cheap for me, Big Master," Lia said after being able to calm down. Anyone would automatically be emotional, if humiliated like that.
"How dare you judge yourself." Now it's Laura Collins Madison's turn to scoff at a daughter-in-law she didn't expect.
"of course. Every human being is born the same. Naked without treasure. Even if he dies, it remains the same. Without treasure." Calmly Lia replied.
"Theory! Birth and death can be the same. But the way they were born was different. How they live their lives is also important. Jason was born with emaa diamonds, as well as when he lived a life full of power and diamonds. As for you, what do you have?!" Sindir big lord Darrel Madison sharply.
"How dare you equate yourself," sizzled Laura once more sharply.
Lia's ears and face turned red hearing the words of the two in-laws who seemed unable to accept her. The two of them still consider themselves trivial, even though Jason has prepared power and property behind Lia.
"Your words are too harsh, Mr and Mrs Madison," Jason said.
"Even though I was born with gold and diamonds. But, I have never felt the presence let alone your affection as a parent. I am only the successor to your big name. And you only come to me when you need me." Jason held Lia's hand.
"Then, is he not like that?" asked the big master by raising his eyebrows.
"He gave me peace and a feeling of affection. He was always by my side, without wanting to feel more prominent among socialites and world-famous." Jason's words seemed to slap madam Laura hard.
The atmosphere was momentarily silent, no one spoke nor tried to start a conversation. Only the sound of their breathing was heard slowly. Laura's eyes stared at the romance Jason and Lia were watching. Mr. Madison's gaze stared fixedly at the family photo back.
Jason's words, felt like a slap to Laura. Laura had long suppressed that feeling of guilt. The feeling of never being there for her two children. As a mother she was never there for her child, but as a wife she had tried her best.
Ah, naw. It might be different than what Jason meant. Because Laura's after a big name. Careers. Socialites. And the desire to be on par with her husband's big name. A series of awards he has received. But ... best mom award she never had.
While the woman is beside her child. She was just an ordinary woman, who was always calm. Jason's status doesn't make him appear in front of socialites. He tends to avoid these meetings. Lia has never made a public appearance without Jason.
While the silence was still very cold, a pair of human children appeared. The couple showed up at an inappropriate time. Laura's emotions immediately lit up looking towards them. The woman placed an empty red wine glass and approached them.
THE PLAQUE! THE PLAQUE!
"How dare you marry my son, without my blessing!"
