The Third Dinner

“Okay.” Once again Rere replied to him.

Rere then opened a travel app on his phone, checking how much he had to pay on the same flight schedule as George.

Of course he chose at an economical price. Rere should be able to make use of the rest of the money George sent him.

This is his second meeting with George after three years ago. But somehow Rere is not passionate to meet the meeting to Singapore.

Rere felt George could not provide certainty about the future for Rere, Rere several times alluded to his desire to have a child from George but Rere did not get the answer he wanted.

George always said he did not want to have a second commitment after his divorce. Especially to have children, George just wants to enjoy his old age with the results of his hard work and enjoy a vacation to where he wants.

This is one of the reasons Rere is still trying to find another man. Three years he passed with George only through virtual communication.

Rere then replies to a short message from Jimmy at their third meeting for dinner.

Arriving at a Chinese restaurant, Jimmy ordered his favorite menu of chicken and warm tea.

Rere astonished, “So, you can eat Indonesian food?”

“Yes.” Jimmy answered.

Finished with dinner, Jimmy again invites Rere to come with him to Jimmy's hotel stay.

Rere then refused. Rere said that he had taken a day off, so if he went with Jimmy he was sure that tomorrow he would be lazy to work.

Rere then subtly rejects her and asks Jimmy to drive her home to the boarding house. Jimmy understood and agreed.

Jimmy felt Rere wanted to avoid him. Full of questions in Jimmy's mind on the way home to his hotel.

Did I hurt Rere?

Does he not fit me?

Was my actions excessive to her yesterday?

This question is in Jimmy's mind. He then tries to send a good-night message to Rere.

Jimmy felt Rere was different from most women he met during his holiday trip.

All the women who wanted to be with him always wanted to take advantage of him, but not with Rere.

It's getting Jimmy's attention to be able to knock Rere out. Jimmy kept thinking, what action should he do to be able to reach Rere.

In the office,

Rere gives a copy of the consumer order to the invoice maker. The past events he no longer remembers. Rere knew very well he had to be professional at work.

“This one please in send today, urgent!” Said Rere while thrusting a sheet of order notes into the admin section.

“Oke.” Answer the admin.

Rushed away after finishing his needs inside the office. Starting his day back to work optimistically will work better today.

When lunch time arrives, Rere chooses to meet his best friend Emilia at a stall not far from Emilia's office.

“Hay coy.” Greet Rere as he arrived and landed his body sitting beside Emilia.

“Hai.” Reply Emilia.

Rere then ordered a mixed rice menu with iced tea. So did Emilia.

Rere then starts a conversation, of course, about Jimmy and George. Emilia has been Rere's best friend since Junior High. They both came from middle to lower families.

Emilia knew very well who Rere was, and Emilia was the one person Rere heard the most.
