Chapter 40. Eye donation

That night in a luxurious cafe, a middle-aged man and woman were in the same table. On the table there is a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. They are Steve and Griselda.

After painstakingly contacting his ex-wife, Steve immediately invited Griselda to meet at the cafe. Unknown to his wife and children. He talked about Savana to Griselda. Griselda is in Chicago and she will return to the Netherlands after finishing her business.

"What did you say? Blind savannah? Who made up that story?" griselda asked in shock at what her ex-husband had said.

"Create stories? Griselda, why are you acting like you don't know anything about our son?" Steve asked back, as he looked at Griselda as if he knew nothing about Savannah.

"I-i..." Griselda was confused as to answer him.

"Griselda, have you not taken care of our child? What's you-"

"True, I haven't taken care of our son since we got divorced. I'm handing over all the Savana responsibilities to my mother. Even I've only met these last three months." Griselda admitted.

Steve was shocked to hear what his ex-wife had to say. So all this time he didn't live with Savana. Obviously, that man did not know anything about Savannah.

"You.didn't we have agreed that you take care of Savana! I've even given up custody of you. But what are you doing, huh?!" hardik Steve who had been blind to the state of Savana. He did not think that Griselda was ignoring Savanna. If Griselda ignored her daughter, Steve would have taken Savana.

"I can't see Savana's face every day, no. I'm sick of seeing her face. His face always reminds me of your betrayal Steve. She looks so much like you, everything. Until I can't see, let alone take care of it."

"You're SELFISH!" jolt Steve emotion.

Griselda accepts being selfish by Steve, she admits it. His heart hurt too much when he was betrayed by Steve and Savana's face always reminded him of the pain. But that shouldn't be the reason why he hates his own son.

Steve is angry, he does not think that Griselda lied to him about Savana all this time. The man did not want to mince words with Griselda after he knew everything.

"I'll bring Savana, no matter she hates me or gets mad at me later. I'll also find an eye donor for her" Steve told Griselda, who kept the middle-aged woman quiet. Steve left Griselda alone.

"Savana's blind? Why don't I know? Why didn't you tell me this?" griselda asked puzzledly, she was also saddened to hear this news from others. Griselda hurriedly contacted Martha to ask her.

After a nearly 4-hour journey, Javier and Leo arrive in Mexico. Once there they immediately met the eye donor at a large hospital. Leo gave information to Javier that the eye donor had blood cancer and he wanted to donate his eyes before death to pick him up.

"Is this the room, Leo?" javier asked as soon as he arrived in front of a room VVIP Kenanga ward number 45.

"Sure sir, this is the room."

"You said what was the patient's name, earlier?"

"Martha Alicia Biche" replied Leo.

Javier frowned, he was like no stranger to that name. Not wanting to linger in front of there, Javier went into the ward. How surprised he was to see the figure of a woman lying on the bed in a pale and helpless state.

"Mrs Martha?"

"Mrs. Sandersix?" the old woman looked at Javier confused as to what the man wanted to do here.

"You..are you on vacation?" javier was confused. Savana said her grandmother was on vacation. But what is this? She found out that her little lover's grandmother was here? And get cancer?

They also ended up talking about the condition of the Savana and also the donor's eye. Martha who did not know about Savana, initially angry with Javier but finally he calmed down because he was the one who would donate his eyes to Savana.

"Mrs, I can find another eye donor. Savana's gonna be sad for-"

Javier was silent, deep in his own thoughts. He had imagined how devastated Savana would be if he knew that his grandmother was the donor of the eye.

"Mr Sanderix, do you really love my granddaughter?" martha asked as she looked at the man sharply.

"I love him, ma'am." replied Javier earnestly.

Martha was still staring at him, trying to find a lie in the man's eyes. But there was no lie there and Martha could conclude that the man really loved her granddaughter.

"I can trust you, right? You're really gonna take care of my granddaughter, after I'm gone..."

"Mrs.." - Javier.

"promise, Mr. Sandrix!" beat Martha with dewy eyes.

Javier held the old woman's hand, he smiled and looked at her full of earnestness.

"Please accept my grandson's shortcomings. She can't cook." said Martha smilingly telling her granddaughter.

"I know."

"He's also always shabby and sometimes spoiled."

"I know." replied Javier again.

"But she's cute and she's kind. Savana is my precious granddaughter and she is very beautiful. Don't you?" Martha cried with a smile as she remembered Savana. His grandson whom he loved very much.

"Yes madam, that's what makes me crazy about her. I promise I'll keep the Savannah for the rest of my life, I'll marry her." Javier shows Martha the ring she will use to propose to Savana.

The diamond ring is red with a heart shape and there are initials JS there. Martha was amazed to see the ring. "Savana likes red, she'll love it." said Martha happily.

"I'll make Savana happy, ma'am. I promise!" javier's Promise to Martha.

2 days later, when the doctor said Martha's condition was on the edge. Javier takes Savana to Mexico for surgery. Savana went with Elena and Javier.

"Om, I want to meet that nice guy" Savana said as she reached the hospital. Savana wants to meet a good person who wants to donate his eyes to Savana.

"After the surgery, we'll meet him." replied Javier feeling guilty for hiding about his grandmother's condition.

'I'm sorry baby girl, I'm sorry'

"But..."

"Let's go Savana, you need surgery right away." take Elena to her best friend. Elena was impatient, wanting Savana to see her again soon.

A nurse leads Savana into the operating room. Along with Martha who went into the operating room. The old woman smiled at her pale face.

Elena cried to see Martha, for some reason she felt a strange feeling in her heart. There was happiness and sadness in his heart. Promiscuous.

The operating room door was closed, and soon the operating room lights were on. Javier and Elena waited in front of the room anxiously. Hopefully Martha can still survive after the operation, so Savana is not sad.
