The sun still seemed timidly appearing on the eastern horizon. Making darkness still dominate the sky that shaded the city. Even so, Ayrisa had already opened her eyelids and was awake. The girl sat cross-legged on her bed with books and papers scattered around her.
He could not sleep over night because he was too nervous to think today would follow the preliminary round of the German Olympics. He had just fallen asleep at half-two in the morning, it was because his eyelids were finally tired to continue to open. Then, he had woken up when the clock showed at half six in the morning less than ten minutes.
Because it was too early to take a bath, Ayrisa decided to repeat what Ms. Mela had explained at the time of their guidance. The most noticed by him is in the schreiben— test section. Sometimes he is still wrong on the order of words in his sentence. It was also what made Ayrisa very hopeful that the theme for the writing test later was not too difficult.
Focusing on the book and the pen in his hand, the phone that had been lying not far from its position, lit up and shook slowly. Ayrisa grabbed her phone and saw the incoming message from Ms. Mela. He reminded himself that when he arrived at school, he went straight to the computer lab.
After a short reply, the net captures the clock on the phone screen. It turned out to be six in the morning for a few minutes. Ayrisa was unaware of the passage of time. Quickly his hand moved to put the book and the others into the bag. After that, he immediately grabbed the bathrobe and headed for the bathroom.
Fifteen minutes later Ayrisa was ready in her white uniform and grey skirt. He grabbed his bag and went out of the room to the dining room.
At the dining room, his family were all there. They enjoyed the breakfast made by Dara.
Ayrisa took a place beside her mother. His bag was placed near the foot of the chair he was sitting on. Then his hand reached for a glass of chocolate milk that had been made by the mother. However, only a quarter of the contents of the glass were gulped, his stomach was already churned so he pushed himself to run to the bathroom.
He spewed out all his entrails as soon as he arrived at the bathroom on the ground floor. Ayrisa sighed softly after gargling a few times. It's always like that when he's going to run a race. Her nervousness makes Ayrisa always lose her appetite, even just to drink milk. If forced it will be like that.
"Well, aren't you papa?" The soft voice of his mother rang out from outside, asking for her condition while knocking on the door quietly.
"No papa, Bun." Ayrisa answered while opening the door.
"Would you eat or drink something else?" tawar Dara with a tone full of worries. Ayrisa replied with a soft belt.
The mother and son returned to the dining room. Antra and Nefra looked at their arrival with worried gazes.
"You go with Father yes" said Antra, rising from his seat and approaching Ayrisa. He took over his daughter's bag for her to carry after gently wiping the top of Ayrisa's head.
After Antra's departure, Nura followed leaving the dining room. He must immediately get ready because soon Lingga will come and pick him up.
"Well, don't be too nervous thinking about the race. Whatever the result I'm still proud as your brother." Nephra spoke softly as he rubbed the top of Ayrisa's head, following in his father's footsteps.
Before Ayrisa catches up with the father who can be sure is waiting in the car, Dara gives him some candy. Said the mother, so that the sweet taste of candy can divert his nervousness.
Once at school Ayrisa went straight to the computer lab according to what Ms. Mela had told her before. There, there was already Lisa who seemed to have come early. Not only was Lisa in fact, there were seven other students whom she had never met.
From what Ayrisa heard, the seven students were indeed from other schools. They will follow this provincial level preliminary round together at Agnandisa High School.
While waiting for the time of the start of the preliminary round, Ayrisa reread her notes. Occasionally he also talks to Lisa, such as asking for the girl's readiness and feeling nervous or not.
Then, at half-nine in the morning exactly, the preliminary round began simultaneously for all the provinces.
Because it is done online, to keep an eye out for fraud, the organizers provide rules for students and teachers to join online meetings through a blue platform.
During her work, Ayrisa occasionally inhaled and exhaled slowly to calm herself down.
The preliminary round was completed when the second break arrived. Ms. Mela handed out the rice boxes ordered by the school to those there.
"Ay, could you have just?" Lisa who approached Ayrisa, asked a question.
"Lumayan, but the green part is a bit difficult because some say foreign," replied Ayrisa.
Ayrisa and Lisa also became acquainted with the other students afterwards. Counting adds acquaintance. After the bell rang to mark the end of the break, students from other schools decided to go home with their guidance counselor. Ms. Mela ushered their return to the front of the school lobby as a form of hospitality.
Ayrisa and Lisa are alone saying goodbye to returning to their respective classes before Ms. Mela leaves.
When I got to class, the teacher who taught me was not here yet. So, Ayrisa was able to enter the class casually. He sat himself on his bench a little lethargic. It felt like he had crossed a huge hurdle that required a lot of manpower.
"Well, you're not papa, are you?" Mia asked, confirming Ayrisa's condition. "So Brother Nefra asked me to make your condition mastiin, he said earlier you had no breakfast. He wants to know if you have lunch or not. But, because I don't know where the computer lab is, I'm just saying I don't know. Lo is also not chatted-bales." He nodded, explaining at length.
After hearing Mia's last sentence, Ayrisa realized that her phone was in silent mode from the morning and was in the bag. At lunch, he also did not check his phone.
Ayrisa's hand quickly sank inside her bag to grab the rectangular object. After getting it, he immediately unlocked the screen. Sure enough, Nephra sent him dozens of messages mostly asking for his condition.
His fingers danced quickly over the screen to type in replies. After her message had two tick status, Ayrisa could breathe a sigh of relief. At least later Nefra would not shower him with a long lecture.
Not long after that Mr. Ferdi entered the classroom. More or less the last two hours filled by him by teaching history lessons are notoriously boring among students. However, fortunately again he gave an easy task so that the students did not lack enthusiasm during learning.
The bell rang to mark the end of school. As usual, Mr. Ferdi reminded to repeat the material they had learned, at least once.
"Wait for me to finish the picket, yeah!" mia reminded. Ayrisa replies with a small nod and walks out of class to wait for Mia until the girl completes her picket assignment.
After a few minutes, they finally stepped down the stairs to the ground floor. The school quickly became quiet. While passing through the library, they met Mr. Dzakariah and Mr. Yuda. A friendly greeting went on the air to the two teachers who were reciprocated with no less friendly.
Out of the lobby, there were already seen Nefra, Gana and the others. Minus the twins Oska and Kion because they got a task from the first lady.
"Well, you're really having lunch, aren't you?" Nefra asked the question after the younger brother arrived in front of her.
"Yes, Brother Nef." Ayrisa replied in a careless tone. Not bringing lunch as usual, does not mean he will also miss lunch time.
"You going home now?"
"Can." Ayris answered briefly.
Nephra nodded then got up and took a break at the others. "Gue first!"
On the other hand, Aspen watched Ayrisa's departure closely. It was a pity that this time he could not look at Ayrisa's face any longer. However, he understood the girl must need a break after a slightly heavier day than usual.
