How did this happen?
"You devil!"
“Go and die! You evil virgin! ”
The angry crowd doubled Siervian as if they were beating his entire body mercilessly.
It was already difficult to continue stepping forward with this magic restraint on his body, but the harsh criticism around him that stumbled him.
"Dispose of some trash!"
"Yes! Throw!”
Something was thrown straight at me, hitting the back of my head with a thud.
The guards tried to stop him, but it was too late. The guards barely moved to do so.
The stench of food scraps hit his hair.
"Battered food is just for you, damned virgin!"
“There are starving children!”
Tying to ignore them, Siervian continued his march silently.
"There's a limit to luxury!"
The masses grew angrier when Siervian did not respond, but unbeknownst to them, his lips curled at the mention of 'luxury'. I tried my best, but it was still just 'luxury'.
This is not fair.
“Didn't they say he was raging with violence? The people in the palace could not even describe how hard it was for them.”
“How could a princess like this come from an Emperor who was like a saint. . . ”
The people in the crowd who had nothing to throw instead whispered amongst themselves in a loud voice that was deliberately to be heard.
With the exception of one person, the entire capital was thrown into a celebratory atmosphere as if there was a festival. News of the execution of the wicked woman sparked a curious frenzy that spread into the air, eventually facing persecution for her opulence and pleasure.
"It's really unfair."
Their overflowing emotions slowed his pace. He wanted to raise his head proudly and declare that he had never done such a thing.
“And he also mastered black magic? I said, he's crazy."
"She doesn't deserve to be a princess."
He wanted to raise his head, but at these cursing words, he curled up once more.
That it's not fair, that that's not the case — even if he said so, nothing will change. No one's gonna believe him. It's been like this for a long time.
"As those people said, I really don't deserve that position."
She was educated hard to be a legitimate daughter.
He never rebelled. He doesn't even remember his own childhood because he has to be fully committed.
He did all that, but this is the result.
“Ooohh. . . !”
"That guy? She's an evil witch?"
It was getting harder for him to raise his head when the voices of innocent children joined in the scorn. He continued to trudge forward.
Since he had been imprisoned for a long time, his legs quickly grew cold. Even though the temperature around the Imperial capital was controlled by magic, still walking barefoot outside remained excruciating. Blood gradually began to drip from the wound on his leg.
"Wanted."
But no one cared, so no one gave him shoes. Many of the guards around him were even forced to mock him, saying that it was a small price for all the evil deeds he had done.
Like a guard driving him to the gallows.
"This is the end, isn't it."
Sierra slowly climbed the stairs. As he rose step by step, his body grew heavier.
He will face his family.
Today, of all days, is the day before Siervian maturity. He'll be an adult after his birthday tomorrow.
"Now! Sinner, Siervian, will be tried under the strict laws of the Erveldotte Empire!”
He could not help but smile when his name was called by the executioner.
It was very similar to his cold-hearted father ordering the removal of the title Erveldotte from his daughter's name just as he dropped his sentence.
And even with the death penalty against his own son, he let the executioner handle it.
“For all the evil deeds you have done, for touching black magic. .”
Even calling black magic is ridiculous.
Siervian didn't even know what it was, let alone master it. Nevertheless, she was known as a witch who dealt with black magic.
If he really had that power, then the first thing he would do was run away.
“Ugh. .”
His arms were tied firmly behind his back. He would not be able to move because magic bound his body.
In all 500 years of the Empire's history, Siervian was the first princess to be executed.
And he may be the first to be framed like this as well.
“. . . . . . Princess . .”
The Empress's faint call floated in the air. Hearing her trembling voice, Siervian realized that she was the only family to take care of her.
The empress was different from the father and brother who only gave a cold look to the princess whom they deemed useless and unworthy.
They didn't say a word.
“Ugh.”
With all his remaining strength, Siervian twisted his body because he wanted to look up.
His father and brother were to be next to the Empress. However, after the Empress's cryptic call, no other sounds were heard from them.
Especially father. He wanted to ask how he might not say anything when his own son was about to die.
“For the crime of plundering the national treasury for luxury and pleasure, for failing to protect your dignity as Imperial Princess. .”
In the end, Siervian could not raise his head.
The binding spell that had been cast on him was meant to limit the movements of sinners if they tried to escape, but aside from this purpose, the spell was also meant to force sinners to kneel in repentance.
That was why he couldn't raise his gaze all this time.
'How can. . .'
He desperately tried to force his gaze upwards, but he was too tall. He could barely see his father's aloof chin.
The distance between the sinner and the throne of the Emperor is too far. . .
“. . . For the crime of desecrating the superiority of the Imperial Family through black magic. .”
The executioner keeps a list of Siervian sins. They're all unreasonable, all ridiculous.
Especially about desecrating the Imperial Family. That never happened.
“For the crime of plotting a coup against the Crown Prince. .”
He never wanted the throne of the Emperor. She never wanted to be the Crown Princess.
There was only one thing Siervian wanted.
As the executioner continued his oration, Karmen, a subordinate of the Magic Tower, stepped forward. That cold gaze, which revealed deep hatred clearly, met directly with Siervian eyes.
The little thing in Karmen's hand was probably the detonator that would be used to kill Siervian.
"Run the death penalty."
At the push of that low voice, the little thing started to glow. In his reflection, Siervian realized that it was a silver pendant with a red diamond-shaped jewel.
In an instant, his eyes rolled and turned white.
"It is too bright to call this death."
It was a beautiful magical brilliance that instantly killed someone.
But she is a princess. Karmen was meant to use water spells that caused one's death without pain.
Siervian was told that this was the case.
'Lying . .”
His heart felt like it was going to explode.
Everybody lies.
Not long after that life slowly drained from his body. His head, which was previously stiff, was now drooping freely.
“. . . Sierra.”
Only then did the Emperor call out his name calmly.
But the shrill voice could not be heard by his daughter, whose consciousness was beginning to disappear.
With her eyelids getting heavier, Siervian thought, 'Dad. . . I'm wondering how you. . .'
However, his eyes closed immediately before he took his last breath.
Siervian would never know what kind of expression his father had when he called out his name one last time.
* * *
“Princess, please wake up. Your majesty!"
There was a loud sound.
Siervian, who had been thinking blankly, suddenly opened his eyes.
However, there was a disconnect in his actions.
How could he open his eyes?
"Okayung. Princess, why is it difficult to wake you up, especially today?”
The first thing that entered his vision was the shining sunlight.
'Why there is sunshine. . .'
After being locked up in a dungeon for a long time, it had been a long time since he had felt the cold sunlight of the North.
In a daze, Siervian sat down.
Even though he only had a little bit of strength in his body, the pain from his long life in prison had disappeared for real.
'My body is not in pain! I don't feel cold!’
He looked around subconsciously and realized that he was in a familiar room. It was a room in the Princess Palace, where she stayed until she was imprisoned.
Dark-colored elaborate furniture specially selected by the Empress. A bed that had a design that was too heavy for her when she was young.
'Having this room. . . always this big?’
Something's not right.
At first, it seemed like a complicated dream, as if it was a hallucination that would be seen by anyone who was on the verge of death.
"You should get up and have breakfast, Your Majesty."
It was a familiar voice. Siervian, who was in a daze, suddenly focused his gaze.
Indeed, the person in front of Siervian was Sarah, albeit with a younger appearance.
"Daughter?"
There was something strange about the height of his eyes, but Siervian brushed him aside. He's just happy to see someone else.
Of course he feels like this. After all, Sarah, the butler, was the only one in this cold palace who smiled at him.
“Sarah!”
Without thinking about it anymore, Siervian held out his arms wide open.
It was a rather awkward greeting for an adult to express his excitement, but he did it unconsciously.
[ Sarah ]
Occupation: Head Maid (Lv.14)
Right at that moment, something floating at his periphery caught his attention.
'Huh?'
It was a translucent light blue rectangle, like a small window that moved along with his gaze.
[Sarah ] Jobs: Chief Helper (Lv.14) Kindness: 400 Atmosphere: Upset
' . . . What's?'
Framing the window was a colorful embroidered pattern, and inside were words that indicated Sarah's name, liking, and mood.
"Daughter? It's time for you to wake up."
“Eh. .”
Confused, Siervian just gaped. He fully thought this was just a dream, but Sarah kept looking at him.
Just then, the contents of the translucent window changed.
[ Sarah ]
Mind: Why don't you get out of bed right today? I hate kids who need so much work. So distracting.
Sierra, who read the text in haste without realizing it, was speechless.
He was so shocked that his heart was racing. No matter how many times he read those words, the window that kept following his vision remained there.
"Now, now, our polite daughter must wake up early."
He shook his head back and forth, but the strange text did not disappear.
Sarah pulls Siervian's little body up.
Wait . . . Small body?
Only then did he realize the source of the disconnection he had felt since just now.
His body, isn't it too small?
"Daughter, did you not hear my voice?"
Siervian, who came to her senses through the rough touch of an older woman, finally managed to answer.
"Yes." Yeah."
[Sarah] Mind: I really have to refrain from swearing. Could it. . . windows reveal what people actually feel?
