Beautiful Goodbye

Beautiful Goodbye
Chapter 1: Memory in the Rain

The small steps of a girl fill the silence created. The sound of footsteps scratching the paved road accompanied him in the middle of the quiet that existed. It was hundreds of meters long that he passed by walking slowly, down the winding road in this hilly area. His gaze was calm unshakable, straight with no expression on the face. Even a row of trees and breezy cold wind, did not make the owner of the skinny body give up to the place to go.—a park on the hill—in the middle of the green expanse of pine forest.

A violin was hanging in his left hand. A musical instrument that he names a living 'friend', a loyal friend, and unlikely to abandon himself. The music lover.

At the same time a tall, strapping man was walking leisurely in a park. His monolidic eyes closed, feeling the warmth of the morning befall his white skin. Many times the breath out, enjoying the fresh air and clean place he visited today. Relax for a moment from the exhausting daily routine. His head looked up, watching the cluster of bright clouds stretching across a wide swath, as if overshadowing himself who was hot in between his morning sports activities.

The girl also arrived at her destination, a small garden on a hill with a green expanse of dew-drenched grass. More beautiful, because it is surrounded by shady trees. He fell silent, pausing the sweep of the feet that scratched part of the grass that had grown elongated. His eyes shimmered looking around in all directions. His smile rose, even though it only appeared in a matter of a millionth of a second. Nothing has changed. Still same.

Then he got confused. His eyes were pointed at the old wooden chair. It looked like a reot and almost broke. The sides have been eaten by termites, not he did not care.the woman just wanted to keep remembering it, the memory when the rain fell. The thing that he always sat down every time he came, no matter what weather God served the earth. Slowly he began to land his body, sitting on a dangle. His feet swung lightly, so slowly. The girl's gaze was no longer straight, her highlight sparkling as the twilight sky appeared before her. The reddish orange rays that came warmed his soul. The default.

"How are you?" he said he saw the twilight who remained silent in the dispute.

It took a few minutes, for the woman to quickly realize from the gaze of her dream. I don't know what he's craving.

His right hand stretched out later, palpating the surface of the wooden chair until it came to a halt on the solid object next to it. A place where her violin friends are kept.

The sound of violins sounded in that quiet garden. The man heard the swipe of the violin, a simple song that is familiar in the room. With his heart beating, he ran. Looking around for where the voice came from, a familiar voice.

    "Stop!"

Instantly the sound of the violin stopped. The mood was silent again. With a gasp of running, the man squealed to look at someone who still held on to hold the instrument.

"I am sorry. At first, I thought the sound of this violin came from my best friend" she said a little nervously.

"It's okay. I understandstand." The man smiled kindly at the man who had shouted, stopping his classical violin.

"Once again, I am sorry. Excuse me!"  He returned the smile of an old man and replied with a small nod.

He left disappointed.

His tired breath in the air. The man was petrified, falling down staring at his shadow on the ground.

"I think it's you. After all, there's no way you're here" he murmured in despair. Then went away from the Vondelpark city park which was increasingly crowded with people.

There was a loud ringing of the cell phone, requiring him to stop the violin. His hand reached into the bag, looking for a flat object that continued to vibrate, so that it was immediately lifted by the owner. Seeing the name listed, instantly made his expression flat.

The phone stuck to his ear. "alright. I'll be home soon. Don't worry about me and thank you."

He ended his phone call in an instant. Too short and no pleasantries to appreciate the caller. Such is his cold, frozen, and heartless self.because that way and that's the only way to survive.

His heavy breath was gone. His face also nodded. "Where are you now? I really miss you," she softly followed by a bitter smile.

The girl is usually called Sohyun, complete Kim So Hyun. A woman who is full of mystery and very hidden. Who really knows him? Nobody knows. He's too closed, just to open up. A dark and mysterious noir—.

He stood up, hurrying to pack his things. Get away from that hill, a hill with his memories with someone who means something to him. The figure of a friend that he so awaited his presence.

As usual, without forgetting the custom, Sohyun aimed his camera at dusk so beautiful to the eye. The sky decorated with teja and arakan clouds that collide like a calf, uploading Sohyun's desire to capture the moment. For him, unfortunately, if he misses moments like this, not necessarily he can see it. His digital camera shot shot perfectly. A few seconds later, an image came out of the camera. His hands stretched out, took one picture and then slipped it between hundreds of diary sheets from inside the bag. Before getting up, leave the place that will soon be covered in a gray night.

His head looked up, staring at the sky which was covered in silver cloud patches. The more noon, the weather stings even though it is not as extreme as in summer. The man smiled at a glance, after being satisfied staring at the expanse of space from the top of the roof. Remember again to the friend, who taught him to take care and enjoy nature. One of them is the sky. His hands raised, parallel to his straight shoulder line, the man with his boxy smile spread his arms wide. Preparing to release a shout, before the action failed because of an unexpected interrupt.

     "Taehyung!"

His mouth was clenched as the call emerged from behind his sturdy body. The young man snorted in annoyance, then turned to look at someone who was the same age as him, hurriedly approaching.

"What's wrong?" tanya Taehyung went straight to the core.a stark confusion of his facial water, staring at his Amsterdam co-worker Kim Nam Joon, who often called Joonie.

"The boss calls you to his study!" With a worried face, Namjoon said. While Taehyung was just a-Oh with a relaxed gaze waltzing away from the attic towards the boss's office.

"Hi, aren't you afraid of getting fired?" Namjoon made a loud noise, when the man had walked far away, but completely ignored by Taehyung, he still walked.

"I won't be fired, but you'll know for yourself. Don't worry so!" Taehyung half-screamed without turning around and continued walking. Namjoon who was confused did not understand the meaning of Taehyung's speech was only able to shove his shoulders. He will know the reason later.

Sohyun came home soaked. There is not a single part of his body that is not exposed to water. The weather lately is difficult to guess, even if Sohyun knows it will rain even a storm, he will still walk home without taking shelter. Giving her permission millions of water droplets to water herself like a flower. He loves the rain, a pluviophile who loves the rain. Although the rain is a silent witness, the unpleasant memory he has experienced in the past.

And just like the days before, when he arrived at the house where he lived. There was no one there— who welcomed—let her enter like a royal princess. The atmosphere is described as quiet, without a sound flash, plus domestic assistants who are off work.

"You're home yet?" A middle-aged woman approached Sohyun. She made her footsteps stop in the middle of the stairs.

"Yes. Didn't you see?" Sohyun answered flatly, without looking. Indivisibly.

"You're raining again?" That guy's getting closer. Forcing Sohyun to face him. "Can you stop acting like a child, Kim So Hyun!" Staring in disbelief, Sohyun came home in wet clothes.

Sohyun who was reluctant to respond, gave a small nod at a glance. "Yes." Yeah."

The woman chuckled. "You are amazing. Better clean your body quickly, after that go down. We're having dinner."

Sohyun who doesn't care much. Not intending to answer and preparing to continue his steps.

     "At least answer Mom!"

"Hmmm ..."  Only the silence that Sohyun listened to, as the answer asked the woman who confessed her mother. After that, there was nothing else but to leave. Yoon Eun only snorted resignedly at the behavior of her daughter who had not changed at all. Still hard to manage.

"Until when, Lord?"  his inner self while looking at Sohyun who was climbing the stairs towards the room. The woman was downcast sadly, yet again Yoon eun felt ignored by Sohyun.

Taehyung heads to the study, where the boss is. Up there, it looks like the Korean mixed-blooded adult man has been sitting sweetly in his work chair. Pulling one seat, Taehyung hurriedly sat down.

"You must have known what I meant to call you here."

     Taehyung nodded.

"This is your salary this month, along with bonuses." He handed me a white envelope. "I've exceeded it for you, nothing less." The man whispered, even though there were only those who inhabited the room.

Taehyung put his head down, okay. Smiling at his own hard earned salary. "Thank you."

The man who was born with the Kim surname laughed, hearing the chant of the five-year-old man on it. Who would have thought the boss of the owner of a luxury restaurant in the elite area of Amsterdam was behaving like a close friend.

"It's time for me to come back. There was someone waiting for me, and I had to keep my promise to him. For fifteen years, I was tormented by missing him. Boss knows what it feels like? I—"

     "You like it?"

The question raised a deep frown on Taehyung's forehead. "Hey, Devin Lee!" he's a little irritated.

"You've been twenty-six years, Taehyung. I mean the feeling of liking the opposite sex."

Taehyung was stunned to think about the words of the man he called Devin Lee. How could his boss come to such a conclusion? How could he possibly like his best friend? In fact, he does not know what kind of woman who must have grown up just like him.

Seeing the change in the face of his interlocutor, Devin initiated the flick of Taehyung's forehead. His jail actions managed to wake Taehyung from his reverie.

The man grimaced holding the jidat

, getting irritated.

"Don't think too much. I'm just kidding," lerai Devin. "Oh yes, Taehyung, please give my regards to your brother. This friend of his misses him a lot, if you need to ask him to take a vacation in Holland, I'm waiting for him."

"Why not tell him yourself? Do I need to call her for you?" Taehyung took the phone out of his pocket.

Soon Devin shook his head, restraining Taehyung's hand movements that would squeeze the contact number. "I have his contacts."

"Your brother . seems to enjoy his work so much that there is no time to visit his poor sister" he added. Taehyung looked in disbelief, his eyes glaring wide at Devin.

After a light conversation between the clerk and the boss, Taehyung hurriedly packed his things from the locker. Some items such as; change of clothes, shoes, books, to shavers are in there. His smile rippled, and there was an object still hanging in the corner of the locker. An object that holds memories in its past. His view was as if Taehyung was being dragged to remember past events.

🔔

A cheerful laugh. On top of a small hill, there was a pair of small children running around playing bubble foam. The little legs did not hesitate to step on the wet land— in the muddy, due to heavy rain yesterday. School holidays, Taehyung did not waste. The boy recklessly escapes Sohyun just to invite him to play outside. To a place they accidentally found while lost in the woods a few months ago.

Hours spent playing, eventually one of them gave up. Sohyun, then six, whines in front of Taehyung, who is four years older than him. As a secret friend, Taehyung felt pity. He sat down next to little Sohyun. Take a break under a big tree.

"Hufft .. My soap bubble is up!" Sohyun gnawed, putting an empty bottle under the foot of the bench.

Taehyung who was sitting next to him turned his head, his left hand busy playing the long weeds around under his feet.

"Go home, yuk!" take Taehyung, extend a hand.

The little girl nodded happily. Welcoming a palm that is bigger than him. Taehyung then took his best friend's hand to get out of there.

They walked together, holding hands. Anyone who saw it, would think they were a pair of sisters who loved each other.

"Why should drizzle, anyway!" the boy complained bitterly while caressing his body using both hands on his head.

"You don't like it?"  Little Sohyun asked in an innocent tone.

"Obviously I don't like. You know, we're only halfway through, we can get wet later. Moreover, we are on foot, we can be scolded," he replied, increasingly upset.

     "But I love this drizzle!"

The little girl raised her hands, there was a bright twinkle as her round eyes met in the sky.  Feeling small, light grains wet the surface of his skin. Sensation capable of addictions.

"You're so happy! Uh, we take shelter first."

Taehyung could only shake his head at Sohyun's behavior and immediately invited him to find a temporary shelter.

They both run small when the intensity of the rainfall is increasingly hard. They stopped when they found a shelter, an antique shop. The door was locked from the inside, but there was still the inscription "Open" hanging on the shop's glass. In less than half an hour, the two boys stood up, curled up in front of the terrace whose roof was leaking here and there. Sohyun shivered with pale blue lips. Taehyung who can't bear to, pull his best friend's wrist. Sohyun refused.

"What's wrong? The rain has subsided. We need to get home before your mom finds out you're running away with me. You must be cold, right? So let's go home!"

Sohyun did not answer, instead the girl's gaze was fixed on one object in the decoration shop. Small things that make him interested—will have.

"You want that thing?"  Taehyung points his index finger, pointing at an object that catches his best friend's attention.

"I promise I'll buy it later!"

Sohyun raised his bowed head. "Really, Kim Taehyung? promise?"  he said excitedly while advancing his little finger.

"Yes, I'll buy it and I can only give you that thing. You have to wait until I come and give it to you. If I had been the one who would install it in the hill garden, it would have been beautiful!" his cerocos is at length with great enthusiasm while receiving the finger of his best friend's pinky.

"And I'll wait for you to give it to me."

The next day, a letter reached Sohyun. Her happy smile came when she learned that the letter was sent by Taehyung. He couldn't help but feel his pleasure since taking the paper from the front post box of the house. The sweet girl sat on the sofa in the living room, preparing to read the contents of the letter.

***Go up the hill, I've got that thing for you. I promise I'll give it to you today, so wait for me!

Friends***!

A smile was clearly drawn on the face of the little girl, when she found the contents of the letter from her only friend at this time. His agile legs rushed up the stairs to the room, he had to get ready right now, as if he could not wait.

"Miss sure she wants to wait alone, let me take each other to make sure Taehyung has come." Jonghoon, who works as Sohyun's personal driver, seems worried about his employer's son. The man tried to offer himself.

"It's okay, Uncle Choi, I have to see Tae right away. I can't wait for the surprise!" Sohyun kekeh at his stance, not want to be ushered.

"Just let uncle wait here, if Miss needs anything, call me, huh? Miss careful!" choi Jonghoon's Message.

Sohyun then headed to the hill garden with spirit. Once there, the place was still empty, Taehyung did not find, either around the flower garden or in the tree house. With a heavy heart, Sohyun got off, choosing to pull himself over to the bench close to the swing. Many times his head looked around looking for his best friend. Still no sign of Taehyung's appearance.

Time passed, more than two hours Sohyun waiting for the arrival of Taehyung, he continued to look towards the small stairs that became the main road to the hill. The sky that had been bright was gradually filled with gray clouds—and rain was pouring.

"Taehyung must come, I must stay here. He couldn't possibly break his promise." Sohyun still believes in Taehyung who will come to see him. Sticking to his stance. Not caring about her clothes had been wet and her body shivering.

\-\-\-

Jonghoon immediately jumped in shock at the sound of lightning that was so thunderous, that he woke up his sleep. A second later he remembered his master who was still on the hill. Soon he got out of the car and ran to his master.

"Miss! Miss Kim!" Jonghoon shouted amid the torrential rain, looking for where the master was. His gaze was fixed on the figure of the little girl who was cowering coldly under the tree. Soon he approached his young lady and asked. "Miss ...," called Jonghoon while patting Sohyun on the shoulder in the soaked condition.

Sohyun who was originally bowed, raised his chin, his eyes were careless and tears increasingly melted mixed with rain. Sohyun hurriedly hugged Jonghoon.

     "I'm sorry Miss, I..."

Not yet able to continue his words, Sohyun immediately cried loudly and said that Taehyung was evil to him. Jonghoon who understood then immediately brought him home because it was getting dark. The tiny body was increasingly trembling, holding back the sobbing as well as the cold that pierced to the bones.

Sohyun lay in the back seat, silently silent helplessly. His body feels numb. His net became heavy, watching the darkening sky, without light, like a frightening specter, his tears rolled in, before slowly closing tightly.
