In the Kingdom of Orilon, Grand Duke Avington was the most powerful nobleman other than a member of the royal family. He has a beautiful wife and two charming children.
The elder was a son named Damian Avington, who was also his successor. He was the pride of the family, a genius in the study of magic with an incredible amount of mana even as a youngster.
The younger one is a girl named Valentina Avington. She would grow into a royal jewel, beautifully indescribable and admired by everyone.
I am Valentina Avington.
Life is so beautiful. Father, Mother, Brother, and the servants all adored me. At the age of nine, I realized how beautiful I was. In my wardrobe is most likely the largest collection of dresses and jewelry in the kingdom, and chefs make delicious meals that only others can imagine.
Right now, I lay on my stomach in my big bed with lots of pillows, reading books while eating cookies. The book did not tell a story, so I was almost bored to death. Unfortunately, this is necessary.
Despite everything I had, I was always haunted by flashes and memories, along with strange knowledge that I did not know the source of. The book finally confirmed my suspicions.
'Reincarnation, also known as rebirth or transmigration, is the concept of a soul taking a new life after the death of a biological body. Many claim to have memories of past lives.'
I am one of those who can remember their past lives, and I shudder at the sight of misery. What a sad mess. And to think I was eighteen! Although I like to consider myself an adult, I definitely only feel nine.
But something else is bothering me…
"Miss, I'm sorry!"
My mind was troubled by the collision followed by the panicked butler's apology. I sat down with annoyance.
Her servant was a sweet girl who was slightly older than me with brown hair like a mouse and light brown eyes. The tea cup was broken and the tray was on the floor, with a large stain on the expensive carpet.
"You useless idiot!"
I jumped out of my bed and stepped towards the waiter. He knelt on the floor with tears streaming down his eyes.
“Do you know how expensive this is? Your life is not so precious!”
He was crying sobbing.
“Please, miss, forgive me! It was an accident, my hand slipped, I'm sorry!”
I sighed, ignoring a bit of my guilt. How could the grand duke hire this incompetent someone?
'How should I punish him?'
Someone broke into my room before I could decide.
"Who would dare to disappoint my sister?"
That's Damian, my brother, who's two years older than me. He was a handsome, fair boy with pale blonde hair. His eyes glowed purple, a sign of a powerful witch. In a few years, he would capture and play the hearts of many women.
He walked across the room and grabbed the servant's hair. The girl was trembling.
“My master, please, no, I'm so sorry! I have three younger brothers who depend on me, please don't kill me, my lord!”
The information reminded me of something. I studied the girl.
"What's your name?"
The girl looked at me, her cheeks covered in tears.
“Tia, Mistress.”
A smile was slowly painted on my face. I looked at Damian.
"Brother, I think it's okay to let go this time."
He frowned, and sighed.
“You're too good, Sister. Fine, it's just thirty lashes and a month's salary.”
“Ten lashes are enough. I already liked it.”
He looked at me with a questioning look, but nodded. Removing the waiter's hair, he patted my head.
“You're smart. After all, it is useful to have some loyal dogs. ”
With that, he left.
I stared at the trembling waitress on the floor. With a smile, I reached out and helped her up. Tia's eyes widened as she grabbed my hand.
“T-thank you, miss. I will forever be indebted for your kindness!”
“As long as you are loyal to me, I will take care of you. Understood?"
The waiter wiped his tears and nodded firmly.
"Yes, Madam."
“Then you can go. And call someone to clean up the mess.”
I fired him with a wave. He bowed, and left. When the door closed, I threw myself into my bed, and laughed.
There's no doubt about it. This world comes from a web of novels that I read in my last life. Tia is the protagonist's helper when the story begins, and will be his first friend and confidante. An energetic and loyal helper will support her all the way until she dies protecting her from criminals, who previously worked for her.
And I, Valentina Claire Avington, am the villain in question.
