Another FLASHBACK

"Sooyoung," called Sungjae, his voice light and his heart heavy.   "Mmm?" Sooyoung replied to what felt like the last time. Just hearing him say his name so lovingly made her want to cry again.   "When this song ends, is this really the end for us too?" A scary day, a scary question - two things they try hard to avoid.   He could only sigh while holding back his tears. Restless in his chair with a sad smile, Sooyoung said, "I don't want it." His tone was high, but there was sadness behind it, he could tell. He learned to read the woman as time went on - he used to not understand and was now wiser.   "Then when the song is over, we should hold the last note as long as possible," he replied rather happily to cheer her up.   One of his goals during this short time together, this kind of experiment, was to make innocent girls cry. But once he reached his goal, he felt his fragile heart crumble and could almost hear it crumble as well. It was then that Sungjae realized that he hated seeing her cry.   Sooyoung let out a laugh, her eyes shriveled upwards and a hand covered the smile that she was so fond of.   "Alright," he said, "breathing to the end."   "You know I really tried my best .." she started saying. He cut it off with an understanding smile, "I know."   "... so you won't cry anymore."   Sungjae could see the water gathering in his eyes once again as he turned his gaze to look around the room, around the crew recording the show, around the set - looking anywhere, anything but himself.   "What's? Why?" He hardened, his heart beating faster. She did not answer; she simply stared and looked at her beauty one last time - her white skin, her bright brown but sad eyes, her short brown hair perfectly framed her round face.

He is a vision, always and always will be in his eyes. He felt himself choking when he thought, am I going to be this close to him again?   He did not know the answer to his own question. As far as Sungjae knew, the girl he loved was very close yet so far away.   The auditorium was silent for a few more beats before he gathered his courage. He felt his body tremble in nervousness, far more than he had before calming him down. Bowing towards her tiny body, she asked gently, "Are you ready?"   He could see his failed attempts to unite himself. "No," she replied in a cute voice.   "You aren't?" I'm not either.   "I'm not."   "Are you ready?" He heard Sooyoung shoot back.   "I'm ready whenever you are." He looked away, ashamed of his words. But he loved them, hugged them tightly.   "Because we've always been a cute and happy couple ..." she fiddled with her earpiece, trying to seem indifferent, as if nothing was bothering her. Both know it's a lie. He did not finish his sentence but he knew what he wanted to say. He always does. He laughed at his charm.   "okay?"   "Good."   "I won't cry" she told him, trying to convince herself to do so. He will remain true to his words.   "Don't cry. Ensure it. " I hate to see you cry.   Their bodies turned to face each other completely, expressing the comfort level of the two. They feel at home when they are together, unlike the previous months when they have a need to sit up straight and hold their true selves.
