A Gift from Grandpa

Reynand could not bear to see the laughter of the grandfather. The shameful incident had passed a few hours ago, he had invited Azalea to come home immediately. However, Grandpa Emery prevented the intention. The more effort Reynand put in, the harder Grandpa Emery refused. Finally, he could only stop.

As a result, every time the two passed each other, Grandpa Emery gaped at him by clapping his hands in the air while exclaiming, "Revelation, there are mosquitoes! There's mosquitoes!"

If Reynand's face was red with embarrassment, Grandpa Emery's face reddened with a bitter laugh. Very satisfied the grandfather mocked himself all-out.

"Reynand, sit! Take your wife too." Emery's grandfather waved when he saw the grandson passing in front of his study.

Not waiting for a long time, the couple had sat side by side in front of the grandfather.

Emery's grandfather pushes an envelope in front of Reynand and Azalea. The two looked at each other, and Reynand's hand moved to retrieve the envelope.

"What is this, Cake?" reynand asked as she opened the envelope and took out the contents.

"The place for you to go on vacation" replied the grandfather. He smiled widely, his gaze turning to Azalea. "Be careful of the many mosquitoes, you know, there, Azalea. You should bring mosquito sprays and anti-mosquito lotions, yes" he said with a slow firmness.

"Where is the ticket? The forest? I don't like going to the woods, Rey." Azalea's voice was soft. He did not intentionally do that. His voice sounds spoiled.

Reynand immediately refused, not usually the sound of Azalea pitched like that.

"Grandfather was just kidding, Azalea. We're going to a very beautiful place. You must like it." Reynand said slowly. He showed me the paper from inside the envelope.

Azalea was stunned to see him. He screamed in amazement, the happy twinkle on his face could not be hidden.

"Happy birthday, Azalea. Sorry, but the card is late. Grandpa also did not join you to celebrate your birthday last night," said Emery sincerely.

"Thank you, Grandpa." Azalea's voice shook. He was deeply moved by the attention that Grandpa Emery had given him.

"Yes. Reynand and the others have been successful to my surprise and delight, Kek." Azalea looked at the man beside her with a happy twinkle emanating in her eyes. He is proud of the man who for several months has succeeded in making a surprise happiness for him.

"Well, may this birthday gift further complement your happiness, Azalea. Happy always, healthy always, long life and soon love Grandpa great-grandfather." Grandpa Emery blinked one eye.

The haughty impression that Azalea first saw on Grandpa Emery was gone. Now there is only the side of the grandfather who is loving, likes to joke and friendly and kind. Just like Reynand in Azalea's eyes.

On the way home, Reynand repeatedly asked about Azalea's current feelings.

"Are you happy today?"

"Yes. I'm so happy. Thank you, Rey. We'd better have to visit Grandpa's house often, maybe Grandpa feels lonely without us there." Azalea stared fixedly at the man beside her. Although Reynand did not return his gaze, Azalea understood that he knew what he was saying.

"certain. We will visit often. As long as it doesn't interfere with your school and study time." Reynand continued to stare focused on the impassable streets.

A few minutes later, there was no conversation between the two until Azalea asked about their plan to stop at the mall.

"We're going to the mall, right? I want to buy a lot of mosquito repellent for stock."

Instantly, Reynand stepped on the brakes suddenly to the point that they had to receive a honking sound in a row because of the car that stopped suddenly.

"You ... still want to buy mosquito repellent?" reynand asked in disbelief. Not wanting to make a long traffic jam, he immediately re-applied his vehicle.

Without guilt, Azalea nodded enthusiastically. Meanwhile, Reynand thought hard how to tell Azalea about the truth.

An idea crossed my head. Holiday time is a great time to show how ferocious the mosquitoes that have bitten Azalea's neck are. Reynand smiled obliquely. He glanced at the girl next to him with a mysterious look.
