Waiting

"Nurora ...." The man looked confused, but then he realized his wife needed time and deep thought so he did not want to be disturbed. 'Well, if that's what you want. I will wait for you patiently. Noura, I love you so much. I was hoping, you'd come back to me.'

There was no answer from there, but Ian was sure his wife was reading his last message.

The waiting nights passed Ian alone without his wife beside him. Of course there are times when longing whack makes the man hug the bolster imagine the woman is present in the embrace, but sometimes not just memories that come along, accompany, guilt and tears made it difficult for the man to sleep.

Torturing and holding back wanted, he did so that he could be more patient waiting. It is difficult to resist longing when the arrival of excitement but he tried to survive so that he could get a commensurate answer.

Sometimes when he misses very much, he goes to the veranda of his room to see the night sky. Now he knows, he no longer misses his hometown because he now has a place to go. To his wife's pair of shady eyeballs, Noura.

A message came in. The man opened it. 'My wife has now moved to Egypt.' Ian rubbed his face rough, but he dared not ask his wife.

Help me through this ordeal, O God, pray in my heart.

-----------++++--------

Noura had just finished her Istikharah prayer, then she prayed.

Help me, O God. Help me choose what is best for me. I am only a man full of error, far from perfect but I ask for your guidance, O Allah. Which path should I take.

I love my husband so much, but I also fear getting hurt. He's done it over and over again and I don't want to get hurt again. Although I still love her, but I find it hard to trust her again. Should I give him one more chance? O God, give me your guidance.

After the prayer Noura looked out of the hotel through the window glass.

Did you see the night sky today, my husband? Tonight there are a lot of bright stars up there. Do you miss America? I'm sorry, I can't keep you company tonight. I'm sorry to doubt you, but .. I love you.

Noura walks into a restaurant and accidentally meets a woman. "Uh, sorry."

"Indonesians?" the woman asked, pointing at Noura's face. A woman with a long hijab.

"Eh .. yes."

"Ah, coincidentally. I don't have any friends, 'cause I'm late for lunch. You want lunch too, right?"

"Eh, yes, Mother but ...."

"Come, we'll find a table." The woman pulled Noura over to look around at a suitable place for them to eat together. "Ah, just there by the window."

They came to a table by the window in the back corner of the restaurant. Then they ordered food.

Noura looked at the woman. From the looks of his face, the woman was about ten years older than him.

"Why?"

"Ah, no. Just a wonder. We haven't even gotten acquainted, but Ma'am so trusting."

"Mmh, let's say it's instinct."

"Insting?"

"We are both Indonesians."

"Is that all?"

"Why indeed?"

"Aren't you afraid I'm lying?"

"Oh, that. Yes it means I'm not lucky" replied the woman casually.

Noura looked at the woman in surprise. "You're not upset? Shouldn't this be a lesson?"

"I've been deceived a lot" he replied with a flat face.

"But why not be careful? It should be more selective."

"That's not my problem, it's their problem."

"Huh? What's that supposed?"

The woman laughed. "Actually simple. I just want to be a good human being. If someone tricked me, he chose to be the bad guy and I became the good guy. After all, we must have cheated people too, right? Like trying a friend's food that's not good but claims to be good."

"That's another story. It's for his own good."

"Eh." Noura.

"Sometimes we think badly when someone does something bad to you. Hurt you, lie to you and even deceive you, but he did it for a reason, eat well. There's no need for you to figure out why because the problem will never be solved. Forgive him, and your heart will be at peace."

"Where could it be if it was a serious crime and he did it many times."

"Human the place is wrong, how else?"

Noura was completely astonished by the woman's reply. "What if it's your husband?"

"My husband?" The woman smiled. "Dad, my husband used to cheat on me."

"Eh, I didn't mean ...." Noura was wrong.

"He used to want to do business and then I've been in business. After success, he tricked me. He cheated on me and married again."

"What ... Divorce from her?" Noura.

"No, because I love him. She cheated on me because I couldn't have children when I gave birth to her. He didn't divorce me because he still loved me." Seen bitterness on his face.

"Why don't you just get divorced? You can be happy with someone else."

"Mk." The woman nodded. "The thing is, I can't be with anyone else. Until now, I have never regretted marrying him because until now I still remember him. My husband's been home for 2 years."

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roji. Sorry, Ma'am, I don't know." Noura with her guilt.

"It's okay." He looked towards the window. "This is actually our favorite table. Every year I come here to remember him."

"Oh, so. I always pick a desk in the back like this, too."

"really?"

A serviceman brought food to their table.

"Oh, the food has arrived. Come on, let's eat!" take the woman.

"Ah, come on, Ma'am," Noura said with a smile.

"Oh, I'm here with the troupe. Do you want to come with me?"

"Where?"

Ian was meeting with his staff at the office when he heard his phone ring. He deliberately always brought his HP during meetings even though he was afraid his wife suddenly called like now.

He was surprised to see the name on his phone. Soon he took the phone out of the room and picked it up. "Hello, Honey. I miss you so much."

"Eh, hello." It was a little awkward for Noura to talk to her husband because she had not said hello for so long.

"Where are you?"

"I'm in Egypt."

"Yes?" His wife is still in the country, meaning there is a possibility to go home.

"I want to ask permission" said the woman slowly.

"Izin's? Don't you want to go home?"

No sound on the other end.

Ian felt guilty. He should not rush back to urge her. "Mmh, what do you want permission for, honey?" He tried to soften his voice.

"I want to umroh."

"Spirits?"

"I'm going with friends here."

"Friends? Friends from where? Female or male? How did you get to know him?" Again the man regretted his jealous words but was curious about the people his wife knew.

"Eh, much, Bang. All Indonesians."

At that time it felt like the man wanted to fly there and accompany his wife umrah. He wanted to see who was now his wife's friend.
