A few moments before.

The wind was like an uncomfortable whisper. The air feels tight. Up there, the clouds started to darken. Manu stood face to face with Kuro who was still a statue. He had been there all day without eating or drinking, just staring at Kuro's face without doing anything.

After Ellena, Yuya, and Ciel are taken to the healer's place, Manu pulls over and meets Kuro who is near the entrance gate to Charlotte's palace. The gate is no longer useful.

“Kuro, I don't know what to do to you. The stone curse from Charlotte has already turned your heart off. But, are you going to keep this up? Ellie's waiting for you, Kuro. He also got an ice curse. If he could not bring back Charlotte, then he would die in vain. Ellie's... The Ellie you care about right now is also tormented. Are you going to let it?”
