"Where did your powers come from?"
Grandpa Davian slightly jolted in silence, not expecting the first question Reva asked was about the origin of their family's strength.
What a unique question.
A small smile lifted at the corner of Grandpa Davian's lips. Alright, where should this old man begin to explain to this young girl before him?
"Say from—darkness." said Davian's grandfather after a long thought. Reva's frown was clueless, on his face like a sign 'what does that mean?' which the girl directed at Davian's grandfather. It was again inviting mild ruckus from Davian's grandfather.
"It may be a little complicated to explain, moreover our family history is very long every generation." said the old man hanging.
Reva tries to prepare his hearing and his head to solve all the words that Davian's grandfather said later. Seeing Reva's readiness, Grandpa Davian sighed for a moment. Inevitably he had to tell this young girl.
"We, the former—were Gabriel's servants, the blessing he gave was light. And the task that Gabriel asked of us was to purify, but one day, in the 3rd generation of our family, a great war with the Demon nation occurred. In a dead land. We're desperate; barely losing until Gabriel comes down, and that's the beginning of Gabriel's story of betrayal,"
The deg!
Reva really could not comment anything. He was only able to pay attention to every movement of the lips as well as the strands of words created from the mouth of Grandpa Davian.
Grandpa Davian was silent for a moment. He looked at the grass created by the illusion of space of its dimension.
"Gabriel's lantern and the Demon's laughter really bear silent witness to the incident. The next generation that still survives, re-establish this family by bringing a different reality. We stopped being Gabriel's servants, but the evil of the demons still remained. Unequilibrium destabilizes the world as well as Gabriel's growing distrust in Gabriel,"
Reva swallowed his saliva with great difficulty. It really looks like a fairy tale that comes as a child's bedtime every night.
"Then the name of this family changed. Hunters. We borrowed the power of darkness emanating from the Demon itself to hunt down the remnants of the imbalance that the Demon created." Grandpa Davian glanced. Hazel-colored eye lashes it looks—intersects with Reva's dark bead.
Reva was silent. A strange grin appeared on the corner of the old man's lips, Reva's feeling a little bad. What the hell's going on? Why did the atmosphere suddenly change?
"In short as it is up to this current generation, we use darkness to purify the black aura but in fact we can also control the darkness itself... we're just in charge of maintaining world balance,"
Waitie?
Waita minute?
Reva felt an awkwardness. Why is this old grandfather's sentence going around in circles? There is a vague point that is not explained.
Suddenly a baseless ruckus was present from Grandpa Davian's mouth.
Reva's eyes faded, she opened her lips which had been locked tightly awkwardly. An option appeared in his brain; cold sweat flowed down the girl.
"What's? You guys can say? Um? Half Demon?"
A big smile is present.
"What a son!"
