Title: Love from Space

chapter. 1. Little Nura Nura. The seven-year-old girl is now sulking at Mom. He was upset because Tio, his youngest brother bought new shoes while he only got the used shoes of Kak Eci.

Nura was even more upset when Kak Eci told him that she got the shoes from Kak Lili. That means the age of the shoe is now three generations in the hands of Nura.

I don't know if before Kak Lili there was someone else who had worn it. It could be four, five generations or older that the shoe ages.

'uuuuggghhh!!! Sebal!! Seball!' so rutuk Nura in the heart.

Why only in the heart? Because Nura did not have the courage to frankly express her dislike for the boots.

Mommy will scold him all out. He said he was not grateful. Or whatever. He said 'alhamdulillah'.

Try if not grateful, of course from earlier the boots will be thrown away.

Now Nura moved closer to Mom. He kneaded slowly on the shoulders of the mother who was currently kneading flour to make Macho cake. The round cake contains green beans and white sugar whose outer parts are sprinkled with sesame.

Near Mom, there are three macho cookie trays ready for frying. Macho cakes are planned to be placed in the school cafeteria Kak Lili. As usual.

The Nura family is indeed a family of SAS, short for very-Amat simple family. All the needs of the lives of three daughters and a son in the family were met from the results of trading traditional cakes made by Mother who entrusted to the Junior High School cafeteria where Kak Lili school.

Father has long since died. About four months after Tio was born, six years ago.

Really am. It was a difficult time for my mother. Died dead husband at the age of 26 years, and has become the backbone for four children who are still small. That's not an easy thing. Moreover, at that time Kak Lili was already sitting in the 2nd grade elementary school.

Kak Lili almost dropped out of school if there were no Koh Acan, a Hokian neighbor who lived next door. Koh Acan wants to be kind enough to fund Kak Lili's school which is known in school as an accomplished child. That was also on condition, after school Kak Lili had to help sell in the Koh Acan grocery market.

Usually, Kak Lili who was then seven years old was assigned to weigh and wrap wheat flour into a densification packaging. A pretty tough job for a seven-year-old.

But the wages obtained by Kak Lili every month was quite enough to help smoke the daily kitchen. Though Koh Acan has been so good to finance his school.

And sometimes, when the work was done, Kak Lili was given a kilo of wheat flour and a quarter of sugar to take home. Really am. Very good neighbor.

When Kak Lili started working, Kak Eci was only five years old. Despite his young age, Kak Eci has been assigned by Mother to look after Nura. While Mom brought with her Tio, her four-month-old toddler to wash at the gedong house.

Nura who was 1 and a half years old was quite a fussy sister. Wherever Eci went, Nura always wanted to come along. Even for the public WC located on the river even though, Nura also wanted to come along.

It was very different from the current Nura. Currently Nura is always upset with Sister Eci, because she is often colonized by her sister.

Just look at this moment. When Nura was getting ready to persuade Mother to buy him new shoes like the one he bought for Tio, Kak Eci even prank him by saying, Sis,

"Mommy, Nura said she wanted to say 'something'..." Said Sister Eci with her mischievous smile.

"What are you talking about, Nura?" mother asked, with attention still focused on kneading macho flour.

Nura who was asked suddenly like that finally even wavered.

"Eh! that's Mak.. mmm..."

"What?" ask my mother again.

Brother Eci smiled widely looking at Nura's expression. Nura herself felt even more upset with her brother. He then glared at Kak Eci, who was then replied with a plot.

Feeling that her old question was not answered, she asked again.

"What's Nura?"

"ii.it's Mak. about.. se.shoes!"

"Shoes? why?"

Nura is getting excited. And this makes Brother Eci smile more widely. Finally, Brother Eci was moved to 'help' his sister. Brother Eci said,

"Nura said she wanted to say "thank you" Mak for her shoes. He's a seneeeeeeeeeng so damn well got those shoes."

Nura glared in shock when she heard that Kak Eci's remark. Failing was his plan to persuade Mom to buy him new shoes. Failed total. Tal. Tal. Tal.. Nura then glared even more when she heard Kak Eci's next speech,

"Say the shoes also make him want to always be the same family even though he is at school, Mak. So Nura will be more excited to learn. Is that it, Dek?"

This time Brother Eci had already provoked Nura's emotions when he blinked one eye. It was as if the wink had said that Sister Eci was again 'winning' from him.

"So, Nura?" ask Mom to confirm.

And Nura who did not have the courage to argue was finally agree with the question of Mother. In his heart he felt very angry at Kak Eci's puckery.

'Nyebelin! Bummer ! Bummer!' rutuk Nura, again only in the heart.

He then went into the room to prepare the school equipment. While putting the books into the bag, he cursed Brother Eci many times. Nura just stopped grieving when Mother who was in the kitchen shouted at him.

"Nura, let's hurry up and leave. What time is it?" mother suddenly said.

Nura then saw the clock displayed on the wall of his house. He was shocked when he saw that it was almost seven.

"Y!! seven o'clock, Mak!" jeremy Nura.

"Aiisssha! no need to shout everything, Nur. noisily. It's fast, sana!"

"Where's Uncle, Mom?"

"Sir Eci has already left."

"uhuh?!"

Nura rushed to kiss the back of Mom's hand and stepped out of the house. Next to the door, his new 'knee' shoes are lying neatly ready to wear.

Nura who had no choice but to use the shoes, because her old shoes were missing next to the rat digondol, finally grabbed the shoes for her to wear.

In his heart he remembered his frustration at not getting new shoes. He should be grateful to only get new shoes that after he kissed, he should be grateful,

"Uughh! smelly camphor!!" Complain Nura.

And Mother who could still hear Nura's complaint asked from inside the house.

"Why, Nur?"

"It's okay, Mommy." Answer Nura in a hurry.

After both shoes were firmly attached to his feet, Nura then stepped quickly towards school.

"Nura leaves yes, Mak. Assalamu'alaikum!"

"wa'alaikum hail warahmatullah..."

In the kitchen, when it was felt that Nura was far enough from home, Mom stopped her activities for a moment.

Mom actually knew that Nura wanted to ask for new shoes. Which mother cannot read her child's body cues when she wants or dislikes something. My mom obviously knows.

But, due to the lack of money during this final semester of school, also due to the increasing need to live with Tio who will also enter the school next month, Mom must finally hold back and pretend not to understand Nura's wishes.

My mom was really sad, earlier. But Mother must uphold herself to educate her sons and daughters in order to live frugally and concerned about family conditions.

Finally, Mom returned to her job of making Macho cakes. He hopes, next month there is more money enough to buy new shoes for Nura.

"Duh Gusti, enable the servant to scavenge for the children of the servant. Aamiin," Mother gave me a prayer.
