ELENA: The Quiet Girl

ELENA: The Quiet Girl
14

Elena ran between the dark streets, there was not a single point of light. His cold sweat continued to flood the face.

TAPS... TAPS... TAP

The calm-sounding step continued to approach, Elena did not know what happened to her, even though running as fast as possible footsteps behind her seemed to be a few meters away.

SREKKKC... CREKKEN

Elena closed her eyes, hoping that if it was just a nightmare, she would not be able to run anymore.

While running, the girl hit a wall in front of her, her hand fumbling to make sure it was really a wall.

"Dead-end?"

TAPS... TAPS... TAP

The voice became clearer, and again Elena closed her eyes, her heart kept praying that she would wake up from the nightmare.

A few seconds of silence, no sound. Elena was starting to believe she was safe.

When he opened his eyes, the woman with the creepy face right in front of his face, with a big smile as if waiting when he opened his eyes.

"YAHOO!!!"

Elena fell silent, it turned out that it was just a nightmare, her cold sweat still felt real, her body seemed to be paralyzed suddenly. Elena let out a sigh of relief, grateful that it was just a dream.

GECK... GECK... GECK

Elena's body immediately reacted, she did not know why the fear in her dream suddenly carried over until she woke up.

GECK... GECK

His eyes glanced at the cat-shaped alarm clock in his bedside closet. "Eleven o'clock, who's coming?"

The sound of the knocking was repeated again, Elena did not intend to open it but her ears felt uncomfortable about it.

With a force, Elena immediately got out of bed. Walking sneaking towards the exit, to be honest he was very afraid of the mystical thing especially considering he had just dreamed of meeting a creepy figure.

GECK... GECK... GECK

His hand was already holding the door knob, with trembling of course. His brain had guessed the figure that was in front of his door at this time, but his heart continued to push for him to ventured.

"Lord, if in front of me is a creepy figure, please lose my memory later!" inner praying.

Afterwards, he opened the door with his eyes tightly closed.

"Eh? why is there no sound? isn't it really a ghost?" he still did not dare to open his eyes.

"Who are you calling a ghost?"

Elena was surprised, an unfamiliar voice was clearly heard in her ear. His eyes slowly opened, looking from the bottom up. His eyes were wide in disbelief at what he saw.

"Vi-vienna?!"

Elena gave me a glass filled with orange juice. "Please" said elena. He sat down in front of Vienna.

"Thank you!" he responded with a friendly smile.

The beautiful girl with the black leather jacket and tight jeans was Vienna Clarissa Nara, Elena's childhood friend who used to go abroad for educational reasons.

It feels awkward if suddenly faced with people who used to be a little bickering because of small problems.

"How are you, Elena?" ask Vienna.

"It doesn't seem like it?" vienna murmured feeling guilty. "Sorry, yeah."

Elena gulped down her drink three times, then replied. "You're not wrong, why apologize?"

"Because I'm selfish, leaving my friend for personal gain."

Elena looked at Vienna, her little friend now looking like one who was sorry for something.

"Sorry!"

"Had it been, chasing that dream was also important, instead I'm so grateful that you still remember me even though you haven't seen each other in years," Elena said with a small chuckle.

Even though Vienna saw the laughter on Elena's lips, she could still guess from the unusual gestures of her eyes, the girl was not fine, back then even now.

"So, why are you coming home?" continued. Vienna propped up her chin with a smile.

"Don't you know, boredom maybe?" answer Vienna. Elena simply responded with deheman. "Are you not curious about him?" vienna changed the topic.

At once Elena's face turned cold, not because of her but because of a question concerning the person who had once been number one in Elena's heart.

"I'm not interested."

Without Elena noticing, Vienna smiled in relief. He was very relieved because Elena was not fixated on one person who ultimately hurt her heart.

As Vienna knows, Elena is the type of girl who will continue to fight for her love. Remembering first the girl was crazy about men who never thought it existed.

"Good," said Vienna breathing a sigh of relief.

Not only was Vienna relieved because Elena already disliked the man, instead Elena was happy because Vienna was still the same.

"Here, I have something for you" he continued, giving Elena a brown parcel.

"What's this?" elena asked after receiving the parcel.

"Little gift." Vienna moved from her seat, walking towards the exit, followed by Elena. "I'm sorry to interrupt nights, I just don't calm down if I haven't met you."

"It's okay, thanks for the visit and the gift."

"Oh, yeah! don't be surprised tomorrow? you'll meet me every day" said Vienna, winking one eye.

Elena just tilted her head slightly, a sign that she did not understand what Vienna was saying. "You're going home by yourself?" tanyanya.

"Yes, don't worry. I'm not afraid of ghosts," she replied making Elena turn her face away.

"Who is afraid" he murmured.

"Hahaha, and one thing I forgot."

"What-what!"

Suddenly Vienna hugged Elena tightly, expelling all her longing that had been held back by distance.

"Don't worry, from now on I will continue to be by your side" whispered Vienna softly.

Elena's hand moved, returning her embrace. "Yes, thank you, Vi."

After Vienna's departure from her home, Elena sat down. Her tears were already unbearable again, it was necessary to make it clear that it was not tears of sadness but happiness that she had longed for long ago.

"Thank God."
