Chapter 8: Journey to the sect of the holy maiden
The Low Sky Level was too high for Gu Xing Shan. Generally a cultivator could still win against another cultivator whose strength was 1 level above him, yet was less likely to win against that 2 levels above him.
That was what happened to Gu Xing Shan, his stance and Stigma could not close the distance between himself and his opponent so inevitably he had to use dirty means to win.
"After this I will hunt down the man who threw the sword."
"Damn it! I can't believe Fen Wei's bodyguard is this strong. Even so, I can't disappoint the master of Artemis." Inner Gu Xing Shan.

The threat of the bodyguard did not make Gu Xing Shan tremble, he had no intention of holding Fen Wei hostage, but his exit remained in Fen Wei.

Just as he was about to escape arrived only the Wei family bodyguards were in front of him.

Gu Xing Shan pulled Artemis' hand. The three of them and Fen Wei who were still fainting then started the journey towards the sect of the Holy Girl.
Not using a carriage or any means of transportation, their journey was taken by running like a horse.
"How far is the sect?" Ask Artemis.
"80 kilometers." Answer Gu.
"Bright..."
"That's a long way..Why not just use a horse carriage?" Artemis pouting.

After leaving the 3-headed lizard forest, their journey passed by leisurely. Gu Xing Shan proudly told him of his victory against a low-sky cultivator. An Long Shan gaped at his brother's story.

Their journey to the sect of holy maidens met with obstacles. Gu Xing, An Long and Artemis had to pass through a border town known for strict guarding.
A border town is a city built longitudinally like a fortress. It was in that city that people who wanted to go in and out of the southern Jinlian region were checked for identity and determined whether they could enter or not.
What is special about that place is that anyone who sets foot there will automatically get a slave necklace around his neck. This was the policy set by the Wei family as the ruler of the southern Jinlian.
"To be able to remove the necklace of the slave we have to go to the administrative office in the middle of the city and ask for permission to leave the southern region." (Gu Xing Shan)
Just entering the slave necklace city, Gu Xing Shan heard 2 adventurers gossiping in front of the gate.
They talked about the rumors of the death of young master Lang Wei, and the new one was hotly reported was the attack of General Cao Zhao to the 2nd branch of the Wei family.
"Young master and young lady of the 3rd branch managed to escape. They survived Cao Zhao the thunderstorm."
"No matter how many bodyguards sacrificed themselves to save them."
The rumors were not entirely accurate as there were no revenge stories of the Shan family in them. Heng Wei also disappeared.
Out of curiosity Gu Xing Shan chatted briefly with the two adventurers.
"What happened in the Wei family? Did they lose?" (Gu Xing Shan)
"Umm.. from what we heard General Cao Zhao only destroyed the 2nd and 3rd branches. Even if he wanted to he could have destroyed the first branch at once." The adventurer preening.
"But I think the Zhao family are cowards. For attacking when the head of the Wei family was absent" said the bearded adventurer.
"What do you think, man? Who do you think will win this throne?" ask the preening adventurer.
"The Zhao family, because they're better in terms of morals." Gu Xing Shan replied.
"Then let's bet! I bet the Wei family will be the winners, because they have a lot of combat heirlooms, plus they hold Longhu Shan's weakness."
Hearing his father's name called Gu Xing Shan grew even more curious.
"How can you know to that extent, don't tell me this is just fake news!" Gu Xing Shan pretended to be angry.
"It's real. His two children were taken hostage, his wife too. There's no way Longhu Shan will just shut up."
"Where was An Xian Shan's mother?" (Gu Xing Shan)
"In the main family residence for sure. I'm sure his two children were there too." (adventurers preening)
The truth of the rumor was 50:50, which was definitely Gu Xing Shan's mother in the main family residence. Its bad. Due to the attack the Zhao family had already almost reached the main residence.
Just remembering how powerful and terrifying the aura of Cao Zhao alone had made Gu Xing Shan's legs tremble.
Gu Xing Shan followed the bet made by the two adventurers, he was just mingling with them.
While elsewhere An Long Shan and Artemis found an antique shop selling martial books.

"He focused on reading the science in the book. It's like a hypnotized person. Seeing his seriousness I was sure he was a cultivator. Because cultivators are nerds who like to fight." Said the Grandma.
"Why didn't Grandma hit him?" ask Artemis.
"Because he's my acquaintance."
Grandma's answer made Artemis flinch. "Wait on! Does your grandmother know who she is?!" (Artemis)
"An Long Shan is."
"Grandma, Grandma, don't report us to the guards yeah," Artemis panicked. He's thinking of eliminating Grandma's tavern keeper. Turns out he's a little crazy.
"Don't worry, I won't report you. Longhu Shan used to bring his two children here. I still remember their funny faces, until they were grown up they didn't change much."
"Thank God An Long Shan escaped from the Wei family. Then what about Gu Xing Shan?"
"He's here too."
"Ahh Grandma was happy to hear that. If you need a place to stay please come here. Grandma lives alone in a big house."

Gu Xing Shan thickened the lion with an uppercut from the hand of the ground golem.
Thanks to the help of Gu Xing Shan the scorpion lion was successfully recaptured. While the little girl Gu Xing Shan was helping looked dazed.
