The preparations they were doing were certainly bringing in troops and placing them near the world the Zi Clan was in so that when the time came, all the troops would be able to move to attack the Zi Clan.
Of course all of those troops were only filled by Early and Mid Divine God Tier existences, and perhaps the combined forces of all will reach half of the main army of the Zi Clan and it will be of great help when the war goes on.
