"Hmmh..," I was bored.
It's been a week since I read my father's book. The two books I read before caught my attention. But the remaining six books were ordinary story books that made me sleepy while reading them.
I finished the whole book yesterday, making me very bored today. There are no more books I can read.
Plus the weather today was so bad that our family had to stay home. A snowstorm started raging and covered the night sky today.
Dad sat by the fireplace and stroked elus the knife he had made this afternoon. A happy expression appeared above his handsome face.
While Mother was peeling fruit similar to black wine in the kitchen. I bought a lot of fruits when I went to the market last week. No wonder the dining table is full of fruit these few days.
I was sitting on the carpet, not knowing what to do at a time like this. Maybe sleep was the only option to overcome my boredom.
"Hey Reinver, come here.." My father said excitedly.
"Yes" I answered in a flat tone as I walked towards the fireplace where my father was.
"Look at my dad's knife, it looks beautiful, doesn't it?" Said my father with his right hand holding the silver knife.
"Yes, good enough" I answered
"Come on, I know you're bored. What if tomorrow morning you come with me downtown?" Ask dad.
"Huh?" Answer surprised.
I've never been away from home. Let alone downtown, I just stuck going around the house to play. My mother always forbade me to go too far from home. Maybe you're just worried about something happening if I get away from her.
"Hey, are you sure you're gonna take our son to your place of work? Follow my mother who is sitting on the table.
"Of course, why not?" Continue Dad.
"How's Reinver, are you interested?" Ask my father once again.
My eyes sparkled brightly at my father's invitation. I want to go out to see something new. Without even answering, they must have known from the radiant expression of my face.
"..., okay." Said the mother after seeing her very excited son.
"Yeah..," Call me.
"Then get up at six in the morning. Get ready, we're leaving 30 minutes later." Obviously Father.
"Each commander." I answered and ended the conversation tonight.
It's getting dark. The sound of the owl chirping coupled with the roar of the wolf made a sound that was so comfortable when heard.
Dad and Mom went to their room first, followed by me who went straight into the room after urinating.
Time passed too.
I'm too excited for tomorrow morning, so I can't sleep. I wonder how big the city center is compared to the village we live in. Little by little the silent atmosphere of the night made my eyes dim until I finally fell asleep.
-
"Czech" The sound of an open door lock.
"Reinver, are you coming or not?" My father surprised me who was still asleep.
"What time is it?!" I asked in wonder while looking towards the wall clock.
The clock has shown six past ten minutes. I immediately got up and went to the bathroom to prepare to leave my father at the door of the room without answering his question.
"Haish, My misery..," I murmured in my heart while wearing my clothes.
"We're leaving.." My father and I said together.
"Be careful on the road.
We headed downtown on Dad's bike, leaving Mom alone at home. During our ten-minute journey, only the small houses we passed by.
After we left the walls of the village where we lived, we saw a forest with a bare tree covered with white snow. We passed a lonely path. Maybe people are lazy to come out on this snowy day. Then we passed through the river that stretched by passing a wooden bridge that might be twice the size of the path earlier.
Shortly after, we arrived at a crossroads.here were very crowded, a lot of people passed by. Our bikes kept walking forward through the crowded street.
Until we got to the front of the wall gate that limits the city center as usual, as usual, in front of the huge gate were several guards assigned to inspect the luggage of the people who were about to enter the city center.
After five minutes of waiting in line to enter, we finally got permission to enter. Dad immediately took a bicycle to his workplace.
I was amazed to see the streets of a very crowded city with close houses. It reminds me of when I was living in my home on earth. Along the way, there are many shops selling food and utensils.
"Well, right up to." Say it when you get to the front of the store after an hour of travel.
We opened the shop door and went inside. The warm air welcomed and removed the cold sensation of snow still stuck on our faces.
"Hey Voin good morning, who did you bring? is that your son?" Say someone with a large body while looking up at my eyes.
"Who do you think is it?" Reply Dad.
"Well, her white hair is different from yours" he continued.
"Albert, he's my only son. Reinver, meet me, he's Albert. Dad's work buddy." Saying Father.
"Eh.., H-Halo.., I'm Reinver Featherine, and he's my father." Answer's clumsy.
Albert laughed when he saw me introduce myself. Dad immediately changed clothes by wearing his brown apron.he took an iron hammer and immediately made items according to the order list given by Albert.
I look around. There are a lot of tools on display here. Starting from kitchen utensils, until a large sword adorns the walls of the store. Not many people came to my shop today. Only a few people came to take their orders.
After two hours I was in the store looking through Dad's collection and observing Dad at work, it seemed like I was getting bored. I sat in front of the cashier's table with both palms propping up my chin.
Then Albert came and saw me. He told me to go to the building next door which was none other than the city library. My spirit is back again. I asked Dad's permission to go to the city library. Then my father allowed me in a passing tone.
I immediately went out of the store and entered the library. When he arrived inside, the atmosphere was very quiet, in stark contrast to my father's shop which was filled with the sound of a hammer clashing with an iron paron.
There was no one here other than the library guard librarian. The librarian looked me in the face and let me go inside to read.
There are a lot of books here. I can see from books of knowledge, stories, or fairy tales even though they are here.
"Woaaahhhh..," I said in my heart.
I began to pick up and read the books one by one until the sun started to set. My father, who was done working, walked into the library and told me it was time to go home.
I got so carried away that I forgot that I was in the library. I closed the book and followed my father home.
Walkways with garden lights that adorn every corner of the road are indeed very beautiful. But things are different when after crossing the bridge between the village and the city center. The quiet atmosphere of the forest is equipped with the concentration of the night to create a creepy atmosphere.
I asked Dad to start his bike quickly. Then it was reciprocated with a laugh that slightly melted the creepy atmosphere.
Arriving home, we were greeted by a delicious meal that Mother prepared. Mom wondered about what I was doing and how I felt about downtown.
I also told him about everything from Albert, Dad's tool collection, to a very large library. I asked to go with Dad again tomorrow, because I wanted to read more books in the library. Mother also nodded can not fight my desire to read.
Laughter made the night that day. Until finally dinner was finished and one by one we went to sleep in each room.
"One more day that cannot be forgotten." Saying slowly.
