Histories And Memories

Histories And Memories
The Sad Reality I

"Wush...," The sound of the spring breeze blew away the trees that were still covered by white snow.

Timing.....,

Relative. It can be accelerated, but it cannot be slowed. Therefore, we cannot re-explore the past, and can only look far into the future.

I still clearly remember Einstein's theory of relativity that my teacher explained when I was in school. I don't know why I suddenly want to remember the past I've been through before I was born in this world.

Today is the beginning of spring in the north. The cold atmosphere began to change slowly. Leaving behind the cold snow, bringing warm air. The snow that covered the trees started to get carried away by the wind, then turned into clear water. Leaving his pure white impression.

Three years have passed since I first set foot on the carpet of this library. From that day on, I went with my dad almost every day to go downtown just to read a book in this library.

Thousands of books, millions of pages, and billions of words I have read over the last three years or so. I spend most of my time just reading. Others may see me as an abnormal boy. While the other kids spent their childhood playing, I just sat on a bench inside this quiet library.

Rarely do I see people who enter the library. Maybe only about two or three people come to the library every day. They are also just elderly people who in fact are people who already do not have much time to live in this world.

But I never get tired of going here. The books here accompany me all the time. Even three years is not enough to cover all the collections of books in this library.

Tomorrow is my sixth birthday. I plan to go to the central mainland by the end of spring to determine what history I will receive.

-

Each year, the central mainland officials will form an army to travel to every corner of the continent to find six-year-olds to become 'Subject Histories', it is a test to know what history they will receive.

The child with the results of the tests he averages will be drawn by the central mainland with the aim of avoiding the monopoly of the power to be used a particular area. The child will be educated and forcibly transferred to the central mainland. While the child whose test results are bad will be sent home to his place of origin. Children with normal outcomes will be given a choice. Want to go home, or settle in the middle of the land.

Of course this is a step from the middle of the land to minimize the war that occurred. As far as I can read, the wars on this continent are already at a very alarming rate. Especially the conflict between Sighnovia and Medanovia. The northwestern and northeastern lands have been arch-enemies for a long time. I don't know what conflict happened, until they were required to fight.

That's what I read about a month ago. I also don't really understand what is meant by 'Subject Histories. Its duration is also unclear, whether it is temporary or forever we have to be in the middle of the mainland.

"Hey Reinver, let's get ready to go home. It's getting dark." Said my father.

"Yes.., wait a minute. I'll be there soon." My answer.

I closed the book I was reading, and immediately asked for a receipt card to borrow this book. I went out of the library and found Dad sitting on his old bicycle saddle. The bike was still the same when we had the first time to go here. Then I sat in the back and the bike drove to our house.

"It looks like this bike is no longer strong enough to hold our load, Reinver." Saying while shaking the bike.

"Yahhh, naturally, this bike is old too. Look, rust is already filling up the entire bike." Continue me while pointing towards the rusty iron beside the bicycle tire.

"Hahaha, Dad's son is smart apparently." Said Dad ending the dialogue that afternoon.

in the middle of the dinner session, Mother said that she heard the news of birds of the middle ground troops who had come to the northern mainland. I was excited and wanted to see it soon. But Mom and Dad's expression was the opposite. Although they smiled, but I saw that they were actually wearing worried faces.

Dinner today is over. I immediately headed to the room and continued reading the book I borrowed earlier.

Long story short, time passed. It's time for the end of spring. The well-built troops in white coats stood tall in the center of the northern mainland city. Thousands of people living in the northern lands witnessed the event.

Me Included. I'm here standing with my Dad and my mom. Waiting for the registration of the child who will become 'Subject Histories' to open.

A few hours later, registration was opened. I immediately wrote my name on the paper given by the person in charge of the registration.

We toured the city center of the northern mainland for the last time before I went to the central mainland.

"You want to buy this apple candy, Reinver?" My father's heavy voice was clearly heard in the crowd.

"Ha.... No thanks, my stomach is full." I answered while complaining.

Ever since we went around, Dad kept stuffing my mouth with food sold by the shops here. I may not be able to eat any more food today. I could only laugh a little at the way the two of us were doing.

"Reinver.., here. I will give you something very valuable. Take care of this thing no matter what." Say Mother.

"Yes. yeah." Ketus.

Then Mom put me on her favorite sweater. The same sweater as three years ago when I first came downtown.

It was the last seconds before I was directed towards the zeppelin. The air balloon was so large that it could cover a portion of the northern mainland city center. There are about two thousand children taking part in this year's test. We marched and walked in unison towards the zeppelin it was in.

On the other hand, it looks like my Dad and Mom are looking at me with sad faces. Father may look natural, but mother's facial expression looked so sad.

The zeppelin began to air. Rise up little by little. Leaving the land that he stepped on a few seconds ago.

My eyes are still on my mother. Her crying was already unstoppable.she closed her eyes as if not allowing me to go to the middle ground. Then I vaguely heard the mother screaming.

"REFRAIN.., MY MEMORIES." Mom's shout was so loud that it was heard by my ears inside the zeppelin.

Suddenly....,

Arrghhh. A very painful. I groaned in pain and finally fainted unable to cope with this pain.
