IDENTITY: The Dark Story
Chat 2 (Part 1)

13-07-2005

Amsterdam, Dutch.

At 00-37

The sky is plain and dark and only decorated with twinkling starlight up there. The atmosphere is calm and coupled with the blowing of the cold night breeze, anyone who misses this atmosphere.

The atmosphere makes the mind calm and only yourself are usually invited to chat during this quiet time.

In this cold sky, there appeared a luxurious and large apartment building. But, in the building there is one window that still shows the light of life.

Behind the lighted window, there was a young girl in an indigo-colored mini dress she was wearing. Seen she was sitting on a sofa close to the window, this beautiful woman just silence and sit while staring at the bright sky by the full moon and the many small lights of stars as a decoration.

"Huff*..."

He looked at the starry night sky through his window and sighed. He had seen too many sights like this. Same view, different night.

Geck... Geck... Geck...

There was a knocking sound behind the wooden door decorated with white paint with gold striped patterns.

"Come in, the door's not locked."

Clack... Cuckoo....

The sound of the door being pushed softly and an Asian woman entered the room with a gentle smile.

"There's nothing to visit in the middle of the night like this, not as usual," said the beautiful woman sitting down.

"I came here just out of boredom, and again, unlike you who sighed this late night, Miranda."

Hearing that made Miranda Jasfi the talented girl in a dance and sing on stage.

"A.k.a not like you is Miss Chichi who stopped by my room these nights."

"Hmph, don't get me wrong. A bright night like this is perfect for stargazing. And the view from your room was better than the other rooms, so I came here. Do you mind?"

Chichi sat in front of Miranda. The soft leather sofa made him almost drown in comfort, which made him almost forget his purpose of coming here. Chichi tries to straighten his back as much as possible without Miranda noticing, so that he does not sink into the softness of this sofa so that it can take him towards in a dream full of bright skies and rainbows.

"But I didn't think you weren't sleeping either" Chichi continued.

"I'm used to sleeping late at night. Perhaps in a quiet night like this a new human brain will awaken. In a lonely night like this, people take off masks and reveal their true identity."

Chichi chuckled softly hearing that and said:

"Your words are quite interesting. Means... Do you think what you said, Miranda standing before me right now is the real Miranda?"

"Isn't the current Miss Chichi also different from usual?"

The two girls threw each other small questions, but it did not disturb the calmness of this sunny night.

"Heh. it seems like our existence is equally dim on this cold night full of stars."

"Hehe. Miss Chichi is so interested in stars, is it willing to explain a little to me?"

"Well? No problem, but I don't think you'll be interested."

"A curiosity about the unknown, after all, is human nature, right?"

"alright. But astrology is a complicated science, so today I'm just going to pass on the basics to you."

Chichi immediately looked at the stars behind this glass window, and Miranda followed her gaze towards the window as well and looked at the stars.

"Did you see the brightest star?" chichi continued, staring at the stars. "That's called 'Beichen', or 'North Star'. The coordinates do not change throughout the year, so travelers usually use them as directions."

"Yes, I can see it very brightly," while looking at the bright star with a glare.

"Not far from there, there is one star pattern formed by seven stars, which is called the 'Dipper Star'. As my family's ancient book says: 'Taking east means spring, going south means summer, going west means autumn, and heading North means winter" Chichi explained. "Before the calendar was invented, people distinguished the seasons by observing the stars. Although it was getting colder, but these stars hinted that spring was coming soon."

Miranda just silently heard the explanation, it looks like she does not care but she is someone who is serious about hearing something even though it is trivial.

Both of them looked at the distant stars in the sky, and seemed to see something further away than those stars.

"Miranda, have you ever seen a shooting star?"

Miranda's attention was immediately turned back towards this bespectacled Asian girl.

"Star falling...? What does miss mean is a space rock that penetrates the Earth's atmosphere?"

Hearing that only made Chichi speechless, a logical statement and not the slightest mixture of imagination thrown just now.

"Konon, if you see a shooting star, your wish will be granted" Miranda continued. "But, of course it's just a delusion."

"No, that's not necessarily."

Hearing that answer made Miranda a little confused.

"Have you ever uttered your wish to a shooting star?" Chichi.

Hearing that made Miranda smile and assume it was just a joke.

"Do I look like someone who would do that?"

Chichi laughed and thought it was impossible for a person with logical thinking.

"yes too. We can try it if we get a chance tonight" Chichi said. "Stars can't help us, but when we say our wishes, we actually remind ourselves. Just like Beichen who leads us to shape the future we want. Perhaps. This is also another way to 'realize our desires."

Chichi stood up from the soft sofa and stretched his body. He looked at the stars again through the glass window, as the stars began to faint from a distance as clouds began to cover this cold sky.

"Alright, it's very late. There is still work to be done before returning to Beijing. I'll go first."

"Miss Chichi is still busy as usual."

"Hmm. tomorrow I'll send you a package."

"Package? What do you want to give me?"

"Only a gift comes from home."

Hearing that made Miranda smile and said:

"How about this morning, you came to my beauty salon. I'll serve you myself directly."

Chichi responded with a smile and walked towards the exit.
