Legend of the Dragon Swordsman

Legend of the Dragon Swordsman
Chapter 22

Hugh also has some time to relax over the next few weeks. When Janette doesn't play along with him, she takes him out on field trips and outings, as if they were honeymooners. Hugh wishes they could live like that their whole lives. However, there was something else that worried him.

His father-in-law, who currently still teaches at a business college, had been diagnosed with myocardial infarction two years ago. Doctors recommend less work and more rest. Her work-in-law's workload was drastically reduced, as was her salary.

Even so, they did not have to worry about making ends meet when Janette was still the President of Silver Glow Business Group. They will survive even if Leon stops working altogether.

But now Janette is no longer the Group President, and their family has lost all of their shares. Any savings they have are already injected into the company. Leon's salary had become their only source of income, and they could barely hold on.

Rosaline used to be a full-time housewife. She is a good wife who is able to fully appreciate how hard it is for her husband, as well as a good mother who supports her daughter through a series of setbacks. He understood that Janette needed more time to bounce back, so he got out and got a job instead.

He's been coming home late for the last few days. Janette asked her mother about her work. But her mother refused to tell her about the work she was doing. Janette did not want to live off her parents, so she was busy calling and sending her resume all day. He hopes to get a job soon, so he can support his family.

In the afternoon, Janette exited the room with a bag under her arm. "Be a good boy, Hugh. I gotta get out for a second. "

"I'm coming with you, brother."

"You can't do that. I'm going out to find a job - "

"But Mommy will scold me when she comes back," Hugh doesn't hesitate to use his mother-in-law as an excuse, just so he can stick to Janette. Sure enough, after pondering for a moment, Janette gave in to her request.

Janette's usual car was seized after they were evicted from the Roberts family, leaving them with no choice but to take a taxi or public transport.

Hugh picks up his bike and signals Janette to get on. Janette wanted to refuse, but decided to ride her bike. After riding behind Hugh, Janette wrapped her right arm around his waist.

Since he had already decided to take care of her for the rest of his life, he did not need to be strong-witted. It doesn't matter what others think of them, or their appearance, as Hugh drives out of the compound on his bike. He is happy as long as he is happy.

They soon arrived at the entrance of the private elementary school. Janette's childhood ambition was to become a teacher. He even went to college teacher.

Now that his grandfather has passed away and he has been removed as Group President, he immediately thinks of applying for a job as a teacher.

It just so happens that Lily Clark, her friend during college, is currently teaching at Glory of Heaven Elementary School. Janette didn't expect Lily to come back to her so soon. Lily said that the vice principal had granted the interview, and asked him to head to the Glory of Heaven immediately.

"Hi, Lily." As Hugh stops his bike, Janette jumps up and greets a woman standing by the side of the road.

Lily is an attractive young woman who dresses rather sexy. If she was standing in an alley, people might mistake her for a prostitute.

A bald man who looked to be in his fifties stood beside Lily. He looked straight at Janette.

"Ha, I was wondering why you took so long to get here. Now I know it's because you came here on a bike. "

Lily knows that Janette has a fool as her husband, so she doesn't bother greeting Hugh. He turned to the old man standing next to him, and introduced him to Janette. "This is Devin Snyder, our vice principal."

Devin immediately extended both of his hands. "I've heard a lot about your beauty, Ms. Roberts. Now that I have met you in person, I finally understand why they call you the prettiest woman in Nebula City.

"You're too polite, Mr. Snyder. I'm just an unemployed person right now.

Janette grabbed both of her hands and shook them briefly. Although she did not like the way Devin looked at her, she had no choice but to be friendly towards her, as she practically asked for her help.

Seeing Janette acting out of character, Lily furrowed her brows.
