Light For Stars

Light For Stars
Chapter Twenty-two

Bintang has been living in Aunt Laksmi's house for a week and she has been getting used to all her habits. He also knows what he has to do every time he wakes up to sleep again. Although initially had grumbled because he felt heavy with all the work he had to do, as time went by Star began to like him. From the family who lived all mediocre, the Star could feel the warmth of the family that had never been felt.

Aunty Laksmi who is chatty, likes to nag every income decreases, but still set aside money to be saved by the Light. Uncle Cahyono who still tried to make a living with all his limitations, and Light who never complained with everything that became his destiny. All of these things make the Star realize that everyone in this world has their own test. And perhaps the test God gave him was to have parents who were not attentive.

"Why?" tanya Light. The petite girl sat on an empty bench in front of the Star.

"No. After living here I just realized that all this time the way I protested to my mama-papa is wrong," replied the Star.

"PROtest? Meanin?" The light stared at the stars. He did not understand the word protest the man was referring to.

"Here you go, you don't need to know because it's none of your business" replied the Star. The man was too proud to tell his family.

"Well, if you don't want to tell me. I don't care about anything related to an arrogant guy like you, either" heed Light.

The star simply rolled both of its eyeballs. "Would we close the stall now or later?" tanyanya diverted the conversation.

The light checks the surroundings. It turned out to be quiet and there were no people hanging out around the place.

"I asked Auntie to close now or later" replied Light a few seconds later.

"Close it, Aunt is also a little tired. Lagian want to wait especially if there is no one hanging out," said Aunt Laksmi who just came out of the kitchen stall.

"You two take care of the bench and the tent, Auntie wants to finish the kitchen equipment!" Aunt Laksmi told her what her nephew and the Star should do.

The Star and Light began to do their job, both piling the benches made of plastic into one and storing them on the cart. The two then fold up the tents used together.

"Em... You've been here a week, is that okay? I mean, isn't your family worried about you? Then what about your college? You must have missed a lot of courses?" ask the Light carefully. "If you want to go home, I can persuade Auntie to stop the bet."

The star stopped its activity and stared at the Light. "In the dictionary I don't have the term I lost. I will definitely win this bet, you see I can definitely stay here for a month," replied the Star. But that's not why he wanted to stay. To be honest the Stars still wanted to feel the warmth of that family.

"I'm out at best" replied the Star in a relaxed tone.

"Ck, you lazy fuck! You should be grateful because you can go to college without having to think about the cost of not like me. Not even a slacker like this," said Light.

The stars did not respond. To be honest after a week of living with the Light family, he finally had ideals that he had never previously thought of. Stars want to become business people in the field of culinary success. He wanted to set up free shophouses for people with weak economies.

"Ohya, actually why did you fall into the river? You didn't answer my question at the time?" The light is still curious about the cause of the Star falling into the river.

"Quickly finish our work, I also want a quick break!" Instead of answering the Star reverted the conversation to something else.

"Yes-yes, I also want a quick break really," replied the Light. He resumed his work.

"Yes, Star, come here spit!" call Aunt Laksmi from the kitchen.

The Star and Light stared at each other for a while before finally jointly answering, "Yes, Auntie."

"Pipet here!" fun Aunt Laksmi.

"Yes, Auntie," replied the Light by speeding up his steps. Unfortunately due to lack of caution accidentally his legs were tight and almost fell. Lucky Star managed to pull her waist before actually falling down and made the position of the two like people hugging.

The eyes of the two met and locked onto each other. And for the first time both felt that there was something strange in their hearts. Even the hearts of both of them were beating many times firmer than usual.

"Yes, stars, what are you doing?"

Aunty Laksmi's voice suddenly made the two realize and immediately corrected their position. The two swallowed their own saliva as Aunt Laksmi stared intently at the two.
