LOOK AT ME, GUS!

LOOK AT ME, GUS!
Chapter Six

In her room, Hana, who woke up in the middle of the night, saw her husband sleeping on the sofa again. He approached Gus Shabir and woke the man up.

"Mas, why sleep here again?" hana asked, waking up the husband by shaking his body slowly.

Gus Shabir opened his eyes. Smiling at Hana. He got up and sat down. It's been almost three nights they've been married, it's always been like this. Her husband never wanted to be naked with her.

Hannah sat down next to her husband. Trying to look Gus Shabir in the eye. I want to know what was on that man's mind.

"Mas, why are you always avoiding me. Never want to sleep in bed?" ask Hana slowly.

"Hana, I told you that I'm not used to it. Please give me some time. I'm sorry, because you can't be your full husband yet and can't fulfill my duties" replied Gus Shabir.

Hana seemed to catch her breath. He doesn't know what else to say. Always the reason is not ready.

"If you're not ready to get married, why did you accept my brother's proposal, and want to get married soon?" ask Hana.

"Sorry, Hana. It was all my fault. I should have thought carefully before accepting the wedding. I thought I was ready, turned out to be wrong. I'm not ready to marry you!" gus Shabir.

Hannah could no longer hold back her tears. She looked at her husband with disappointment.

"Does this mean you regret our marriage?" hana asked in a stammering voice as she held back her sobs. He doesn't want anyone to listen.

Gus Shabir grabbed the woman's hand. He realized that none of this was Hana's fault. Or the fault of both parents. All her fault was too rash to take a single step. He should have asked who the bride was and met her first.

"Sorry, Hana. I don't regret this marriage. But please, give me some time until I'm ready" replied Gus Shabir.

Hannah pulled her hand from her husband's. Removing tears that wet the cheeks. She smiled at the man she loved so much.

"Mas, I'm sorry too. I should have understood you. It is not easy to accept something new. Maybe you're still surprised to see a woman in the room with you. I shouldn't be in a hurry to ask for your understanding. This marriage is also only three days, it is natural that it requires adjustment" replied Hana.

"Thank you, Hana. Thank you for your understanding. I hope to get through this" replied Gus Shabir.

"Please reassure me that if this is all the best for me, I'm still expecting Anin. Is this wrong?" gus Shabir asked himself.

Hana then stood up. She took off her clothes in front of her husband. It seemed like it was purposely done to lure the man. But, beyond a doubt. Gus Shabir stood up and went into the bathroom without looking at his wife.

There was the sound of water coming from the bathroom. Maybe the guy took the ablution water. A few moments later Gus Shabir came out.

"You want to pray night with me?" gus Shabir asked gently. Hana simply replied by nodding her head.

In the bathroom, Hana's tears fell back down her cheeks. She was sad to realize her husband was not looking at her.

"LOOK AT ME, GUS! I'm your wife. It is legal in religion and state. Doesn't there feel your interest in me? What is the real reason you married me? I know, from your eyes, if there's no me in your heart?"

Hannah wiped her tears. She took ablution, after which she just came out and stood behind her husband.

"Gus Shabir, while at the boarding school I and other friends imagined that they could be your makmum. I finally got to that, but it wasn't as beautiful as our imagination. You're so cold and stiff to your own wife" Hana murmured to herself.

The two of them did the night prayer together, after which Gus Shabir again laid his body on the sofa. Hana looked at all of that by holding onto her painful chest.

***

This afternoon, Anin was allowed to go home, Gus Shabir offered to pick her up. Hana allows because she thinks, pity her brother if he has to drive alone.

Shabir drove the car excitedly to the hospital. He went straight to Anin's room. Gus Shabir came in after knocking and heard the answer welcome in.

He thought that inside the inpatient room were Ghibran and Aisha. It turns out there was only Anin who had prepared to go home. Her face was so beautiful that Gus Shabir looked down, not wanting to look at her face for longer. So did Anin, she immediately lowered her head as soon as she realized that Gus Shabir had come.

"Where are your father and mother, Anin?" ask Gus Shabir. He deliberately opened the door of the room wide so that there was no slander.

"While making the payment and taking my medicine, Mas, Om, uh .. Who do I call Gus?" anen asked nervously.

"It is up to you to call me what, may, Mas, Oom or Gus," replied Gus Shabir.

"I'll just call Gus, can't I?" ask Anin again.

"Of course you can" replied Gus Shabir.

Ghibran and Aisah who had made the payment and had redeemed the medicine at the dispensary, walked towards the princess's room. Seeing Gus Shabir both said hello. The man then greeted the Ghibran.

"Sorry, Shabir. We're troubling you" said Aisha.

"What's wrong, brother. I also have no activities" replied Gus Shabir. Because Ghibran was his sister-in-law, so he called for Abang and Aisha, older sisters.

Gus Shabir is still on leave. He'll be at Ghibran's house for a week, after which he'll be back in the cabin.

Aisha collects all of Anin's belongings. Once all is ready, Ghibran and Gus Shabir lift him towards the car. Anin was silent during the trip. He was still nervous when faced with the man. It was still difficult for Anin to forget and erase her admiration for Gus Shabir.

"What can least be forgotten, is sometimes the thing that cannot be had. The stronger you try to forget, the stronger you remember it in memory. The best way to forget is to stop paying attention. Life is about surviving and learning to accept, or going and learning to forget."
