Two Father Requests

Now is the time for Rudi's father's surgery. The medics prepare to move Rudi's father to the operating room.

But before that, Rudi's father called Rania and Aldi to come closer.

"Ro." Call Rudi's father in his weak voice.

"Yes, dad. Do you need anything?" Rania asked swiftly approaching her father.

Rudi's father shook his head slowly while smiling weakly. "here, son. Hold dad's hand." Said. Rania simply complied, without asking anything.

"Where's Aldi?" Ask Rudi's father while circulating his gaze.

"I'm here, dad. Do you need anything?" Aldi asked aloud, just like Rania. Though he had just come, but he managed to catch the words of the middle-aged man.

Rudi's father smiled gently at the two.

"Here, son Aldi. I want to talk to you for a minute."

Aldi nodded then approached to the left of Aldi's father opposite Rania who was on the right.

"Ro." Call Aldi's father while looking closely at his son's shady eyes.

"Yes, dad. What's up?" Ask her softly.

It seemed that Rania's father took a deep breath before saying. "Son, I don't know if this operation will work or not ..." Rudi's father stopped his words that seemed to be stuck in the throat.

His tongue was too faint to continue his words but he should have told his son.

"What is this father talking about? Of course this operation will work. And I'll recover, we can live happily as we used to." Rania is unable to listen to her father's words that make her sad.

Immediately he rested his body on his father's chest. Rania hugged her father's body which looked increasingly thin.

Rania is afraid that everything her father says is wrong. She fears that marrying Aldi is not the source of her happiness. Rather than being the cause of his grief.

"Will Aldi promise to always make this father's only daughter happy?" Asked Rudi's father turned to look at the young man beside him.

"Of course, dad. Aldi will try to always make Rania as happy and as strong as Aldi can." Aldi said steadily.

"Thank you, kid. I hope you'll always remember your promise." Rudi's father stared at Aldi.

"That's for sure, dad. Rania's happiness is my happiness. Rania's sadness is also my sadness." Aldi is serious.

While Rania grumbled in her heart to hear the words that came out of Aldi's lips. It sounded very sweet but it was just a poison that could kill him if believed.

"And for the second father's request..."

"Dad wants you to always take care of your sister, take care of her as usual. Even though you're married and live in a different house. Please don't leave your brother alone. He can't walk, can't see. Then you as the only brother who should be able to be his eyes and feet."

Hearing her father's words, Rania was no longer able to hold back her tears.
