Unexpected Proposal

A few days passed, after Humaira from Aceh met her aunt, Humaira went back to bring her aunt to Singapore to get better treatment. 

His departure from the country was not accompanied by Tomy and his son. Tomy decided to stay in Jakarta because there was a very important job that he could not leave to Romi the assistant.  Tomy also did not allow Gibran to be taken back and forth to the Hospital. And finally, Humaira left together, her aunt and her assistant Dewi.

That afternoon, Umi was babysitting Gibran. Some days do not meet with the toddler, his longing is getting hotter.

"Duh, the funnier this is Umi pounding, umm... gales so much?!"

Asep who came out of nowhere said while resuscitating his body on the wall.

Umi just glanced at Asep and chuckled while shaking her head.

Actually what Asep said was not entirely wrong. Asep's skin color is Asian yellow but he has brown eyes and his face looks a bit like Leonardo the Hollywood actor.

Asep said suddenly.

Said Umi annoyed who turned to the man.

"So, ever since I expressed my true and profound feelings, I have started to change as I have. Never call him a kayak again now call him Asep"

Asep said melow and felt set aside.

"Kneesh?!"

"I want him to be nothing else. There are many different age marriages. And I'm sure I can protect Umi's mother"

Kiki, Gibran's additional nanny who just finished lunch, joined their conversation.

Umi asked Kiki to replace him to take care of Gibran, then invited Asep to follow him.

Asep was surprised to see Umi who invited him to get out of the room. His face suddenly pale as white as rice seeds due to Umi's sudden change in attitude becoming cold.

Arriving at a corner of the house that was not passed by anyone, Umi stopped her footsteps and turned to look at Asep.

"I don't like this Sep?! Don't play around like this?!"

Asep quickly shook his head dismissing Umi's accusations at him.

"I swear to Umi, I'm not messing around?! Seriously I like mbak Umi, from the past even, before mbak Umi operation. I was confused, honestly I did not believe let alone lie?!"

"I just think you're Sep's usual friend, nothing more"

"Did Umi have someone she likes?"

"Nothing. After all how dare I like someone, I know my position and circumstances. No one wants to be with someone like me"

"What kind of person is Umi? I think Umi is kind and polite. Umi is also loving. I just need a woman like Mbak Umi to take care and raise my children"

Asep who said while looking at Umi seriously looked so earnest.

There was a turmoil in Umi's heart that made her stance a little shaky. Umi bowed then turned her gaze to another. He tried to avoid the man's eyes on him.

"Maybe Umi feels like she doesn't know me any further. It's okay mbak, we're just getting married. He said it was more beautiful"

Asep said confidently.

"Then what if we do not feel fit, is it so easy to divorce? Divorce is something God hates"

"Why should you immediately take the thought of divorce anyway mbak? The name of the marriage makes it legal to two different people, of course there must be other differences. For example, his life habits or thinking style and others. But after the household, we are not our own. We also belong to a couple and vice versa. For that we try to understand each other, appreciate and adjust whatever we will do. And making a decision is also negotiated together, because the outcome of the decision must involve both partners who feel it"

Asep said at length. He tried to provide answers that could convince Umi in accordance with what he understood.

"Surely you've been thinking about getting there?!"

"I learned from the people around me. The importance of us being open to couples and always prioritizing making decisions together. Sometimes small things that are decided unilaterally invite a commotion. And finally the small commotion continues to be brought back every time they fight. The long-time cause fatigue of heart, until finally piled up inside and broke into a big commotion when the heart was unable to hold back. And I don't want that to happen at our wedding"

Umi heard Asep's words at the end of the sentence, as if she had agreed to accept Asep as her husband.

"When did I agree to marry you?"

"Sir, if you want to date me after marriage, I promise, I will try to be a responsible husband born and inner. I also promised to try to run the marriage as I just explained. And I hope, we should not eliminate communication when we have different opinions, or when we are fighting. Silence may be, but when emotions are high. But I hope, the emotion is not maintained for too long so as not to cause hatred and so the head immediately becomes cold to immediately resolve differences of opinion"

"Is this you're proposing?"

"Yes mbak, I really want to propose to mbak Umi by bringing my parents. But that's if Umi Sudan agrees. How's mbak?"

"You proposed to me like you were asking me to negotiate a game"

"Astagfirullah, I'm not messing around. I'm serious...."

Umi looked at Asep who looked hopeful.

"I'll think about it first"

Umi turned to look to the side. He seemed embarrassed to answer Asep's question.

Asep immediately smiled sumringah, although Umi did not immediately answer, but for him the opportunity was still there rather than immediately rejected at that time.
