Chapter 11: Goodbye to All Memories


This morning Vita visited the tomb of Galang before later in the afternoon he left for the city of Solo by train.


Vita crouched on the side of the tomb, occasionally stroking her son's tombstone, not feeling tears dripping down her daughter's headstone.


"What are you doing there, son? Your place is beautiful, right?" Vita's voice sank into the sedu sedan sobs her cry.


"It's fine there, son, maybe after this mama will rarely visit you, but trust me that mama will embrace you in every prayer mama wherever mama is."


"I love you baby, mama will always miss you." Isak Vita sank deeper into his grief, occasionally his clasped fingers cleaned Galang's tomb from the grass that grew on it.


After praying and sowing flowers on the tomb of Galang, Vita rubbed the tombstone once again and left the place where the body of his son lay.


Arriving at the house Vita laid her body to the mattress, staring at the ceiling of the room that still remains the same does not change in the slightest.


Pattern strokes are formed on the ceiling wall made of plywood because every rain often leaks.


He will definitely miss this city, friends here, although you could say Vita does not have many friends as well, but twelve years of being a part of this capital city inevitably leave traces.

In the afternoon, Vita dragged both suitcases out of the house, bude Ningsih was waiting in front of the house, his old eyes were swollen, hearing Vita was going to leave Jakarta and all his problems made his heart sad, she is also a mother, if her daughter who experienced events like Vita, of course she will not accept it, but not humans must accept the destiny she has to live, difficult and happy, but not, laughter and crying.


Bude Ningsih hugged Vita tightly. "Be careful there, take good care of yourself, often give word to bude."


"Vita nitip Galang ya bude, I've given the administration money to extend the lease of his grave land for five years."


"Yes nduk, bude will often see this your son, you don't have to worry" said Bude Ningsih stroking Vita's head gently.


Not wanting to get more dissolved in his sadness, Vita immediately say goodbye to Bude Ningsih and his family, then Vita out of the alley to the taxi that was waiting for him.


"More morning, to Gambir huh?" greet the driver kindly.


"Sore sir, yes to Gambir." replied Vita politely.


The taxi split the streets of the city that had started to be crowded, it took enough time to get to the largest station in Jakarta from his home located in the Depok area.


Vita enjoys the congestion on his left right side, this kind of atmosphere he will surely miss later.


Vita took a deep breath and closed her eyes, the sadness re-emerged in her heart.


'Goodbye Jakarta, goodbye all memories, I am ready to move on with life' inwardly sad Vita.


No matter how life continues, there is no need to look back.
