Right at three in the morning, the bus finally delivered them to their final destination, Jakarta.
Tama checked one by one the items they brought from the village, two boxes and one large suitcase of his wife's clothes. Rani certainly did not allow him to bring anything so that the woman was not exhausted.
Although early in the morning but lucky in this big city is still crowded, so they can easily find public transportation.
“What do we want to ride?” Tanya Rani tightens up the Tama jacket she still wears.
Tama thought for a moment before he finally decided to take public transportation beurupa angkot, “If you ride angkot you do not mind?”
“I have no problem, but we have a lot of luggage,” said Rani pointed to her luggage.
Tama put one cardboard on the suitcase to make it easier to carry it, “Ngot anything, this hour must be quiet, these items can enter.”
After Rani agreed with his opinion, Tama then boarded the angkot that had been ngetem since before the terminal, in front of the terminal, fortunately, because there were no other passengers, the driver finally chose to deliver Rani and Tama first.
“From village yes dek?” asked the driver who had all his hair bleached.
Tama smiled politely, “Iya Pak, from my wife's village.”
Tama can see his expression from the front rearview mirror, “Oalah already husband and wife, I think you are Brother Sister, because it looks like Mas.”
Tama laughed, while Rani just smiled knot but in the heart of the woman was certainly protesting because she and Tama did not look alike at all, especially she felt her nose more pointed.
The streets of Jakarta at three in the morning make them feel their own streets, there is no confusion that they usually see so it does not take long Rani and Tama arrive.
“Please Yes Sir,” said Tama politely after paying the angkot.
Stay in the alley, until also in the boarding house Rani. But not Rani name if listening to Tama just like that, the woman insistent on carrying one card herself.
“Rani, yes Allah do not. Please yes do not, your pregnancy still has to be extra on guard.”
Tama is anxious to see Rani herself, she forcibly takes the cardboard that Rani brought.
“Don't bemay! My people are still strong carry ginian, this other thing is very light,” kekeh Rani keep the cardboard in her hands.
“Rani, don't do it dong. I can't be rude with you, but you please just beat me this time,” Tama said at length.
The two are still fighting over the cardboard by pulling the neat rope that ties the box, both Rani's side and Tama's side no one wants to give up on it.
“You till sunrise we stand here?” rani's annoyance.
“Already, you released first,” said Tama pleaded.
Rani clucked, “Tama, ih I can still bring this. This is very easy, besides you the trouble it brings. Yea? please? Don't bother this time.”
Tama sighed, finally with a heavy heart the man released his grip on the cardboard, “If not strong say yes, do not maxain.”
Rani laughs victory, “Iya, bawel.”
Although annoyed but Tama a little relieved, only this time he saw Rani laughing, “Seneng now?”
Rani who was about to walk turned her body looked at Tama, “Ye, follow-up.”
“What followings?” Tama pulls the suitcase back and precedes Rani.
“That's by the way, seneng now? I'm perfect with you,” explained Rani.
Tama knew what Rani meant, but the man chose to pretend not to understand what Rani said. “Not knowing me, which one?”
Tama put her shoulders together, making Rani upset but she followed the man in front of her, “Wait for dong,” annoyed Rani, she hurriedly chased after Tama's wide steps.
Not a single human was seen passing through this alley, after all who would come out at this hour, at most everyone was still fast asleep.
Rani is then surprised to find someone who is opening the door right next to her room, “Yeah, Yori! What are you?”
Someone whose name is called then looked at Rani with his sleepy eyes, “Rani? I don't think you're going to Jakarta anymore.”
Rani puts the cardboard in front of her room, while Tama does what she does.
“Why are you coming home at this time?” peekit Rani's.
Yori rubbed her ears because Rani's voice was very tight in her ears, “Rani, do not scream, you do not know what time it is?”
Rani realized this, she then looked around hoping taka da suddenly came out of the room to protest.
“Where are you from? Girls come home at this time.”
Yori took off one key from the hanger and handed it to Rani, because indeed she had time for Rani to drop the room key, “Ni lo.” key
Rani immediately received the key, “Makasih. But answer first where?”
Yori cengengesan, “Lapse of work at my bar, so it's bad again less income so I have to find more money to pay for college.”
Rani who was previously like a mother who was ready to spray her child with her frustration finally softened, “Yeah, you are so cute. Yasudah, the hunt is in break.”
Before Yori did what Rani told her to do, she turned her attention to someone behind Rani, “Finally this is the one you chose Ran?”
Rani rolled her eyeballs, “Aaan anyway, you think the clothes on the slide-pick, already there in!”
Yori was blown away, finally the teenager chose to go into his room leaving Rani and Tama who were trying to enter the goods.
Rani thought for a moment before she understood who Tama meant as a neighbor, “Oh Yori?”
Tama nodded, the man was curious because Rani looked so familiar with Yori.
“She has been here for a year, that's why children wander so kudu often diomelin so as not to cross the line,” explained Rani.
Tama looks confused to put things because Rani's room is not so spacious, she thinks what will fit if she lives with Rani.
“Pantesan, you look like again temurin Iyo,” kekeh Tama.
“Don't be there Tama, you put the card under the bed only. Tomorrow I just unload the contents,” said Rani realized the confusion of Tama.
Rani goes into the bathroom washing her face and changing her clothes more comfortably in order to rest, while Tama is still confused what she should do especially Rani's realm so that she is still not free.
Rani realizes the clumsy movements of Tama sitting under the bed, actually not much different from her who was a little nervous because not usually she had to share a room with others especially a man. But still Rani will put on an ordinary face, as if not affected by the presence of Tama.
“You want to take a break?” tanya Rani took out a bed sheet and pillowcase from her closet.
Tama who witnessed it swiftly took over the bed sheet to help Rani make the bed.
“Kanya, we have to buy another pillow,” said Rani because in her room there is only one pillow and a small bolster.
“Nease Rani, I will be hired to take my goods there. There are mattresses, pillows, and bolsters,” said Tama.
Rani then nodded, right also rather than buy again mingling his money for something else.
“You rented it yourself?” tanyanya.
Tama nodded, “Iya, since Grandma there is no I alone. But I never paid Rani.”
Rani looked at Tama with a gaze asking what he meant by his words, Tama smiled widely, “Iya I never paid, because free.”
“Kok can?” ask Rani curiously.
It's settled with the mattress then Tama took a pillowcase in Rani's hand, “Iya, so I'm from small there, well when Grandma died who had a pity contract. So I already considered his own son, but not free one hundred percent anyway, I also remain in love duty.”
Rani is getting curious, “What task?”
Now the mattress and pillow are neat, ready to sleep, “It is done. Clean duty contract.”
Rani sits on the edge of the bed, “Why didn't you tell me you had a foster parent?”
Tama also sat next to Rani, “Not the adoptive parents too anyway, but yes they give me permission to stay in his place aja.”
“Sama Tama, at least you know them if you want to get married,” said Rani.
Tama shrugged her shoulders, “Later, I'll tell them. You are now resting, yes.”
“You want to go directly?” asked Rani who saw Tama back in her backpack.
Tama staring at Rani, “Cie, want me here huh?”
Rani rolled her eyeballs looking at Tama's behavior which she thought was very immature, “That's not what I mean.”
“I'm going to the contract first, who knows what I can do.”
“But Tama, even this is still dark outside.
“Nothing, later I while stopping by prayer at the mosque aja.”
“Why not pray here?”
“Emang you want me to pray here?”
Again Rani sighed, tired once she faced Tama, “As far as you are.”
Tama chuckles, “I want to take my things first Rani, besides I also have to find work. Oh yeah, will you go straight to work? Want me to drop off? I'll take the motor.”
“I go back to work tomorrow, today want some and rest first,” explained Rani.
Tama nodded, “OK deh, I go first huh. Happy break.”
Tama then came out, she closed the door tightly hoping Rani would stay safe even if there was no one beside her. Currently, Tama's goal is only one waiting for an answer from Retno, her friend about the job she is applying for and looking for any job she can do to be able to support Rani. Jakarta
where everyone is fighting for their children, wives and families and Tama is ready to do so at whatever risk she has to face later.
